As part of the 2023 recap, a lot was said about console and PC games, but the mobile segment of the gaming industry was left out of the spotlight.
The analytical agency Data.ai analyzed the profitability of mobile games and determined which project brings the most profit.
For many years Candy Crush franchise games were the leaders in terms of profitability, but this year they got a strong competitor. The first place in profitability came Turkish puzzle game Royal Match from the studio Dream Games – in 2023, it brought the developers more than two billion dollars! At the same time, the average number of active players of Royal Match is 55 million people per month, while Candy Crush Saga has 160 million.
The top three were the popular mobile games Monopoly GO: Family Board Game and Coin Master. Candy Crush Saga, on the other hand, was only in fifth place this year.
