Been using Niantic Campfire for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you connect with other players in your area who are into Niantic games like Pokémon GO. Pretty solid if you’re into that kind of thing.

Here’s what you can do: you can find local gaming communities, chat with players, and even organize real-world meetups. And there’s also a friend system where you can add other players. And you can use it to manage your Niantic ID and friends – took me a while to figure that part out but it’s useful.

Look, if you’re a big Niantic fan, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the interface can be kinda confusing at first – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you want to connect with your local Pokémon GO or Ingress crew.

So here's my take on Niantic Campfire. I've tested a bunch of social apps for Niantic games and this one's pretty solid. The ability to find and chat with nearby players is great, and the meetup feature is a cool way to get the community together. But I will say the app feels a little buggy at times and the design could use some work. Overall though, if you're into Niantic games, this is a pretty useful companion app.
