Red Note has made their entire website including the app art, Chinese only. they were asking for my ID. I will not be giving that out and I suggest not doing that. First off, when I first started using the app it was already hard for me to upload anything. Any video that I uploaded ended up crashing out. It took too much time to upload any video. Just to keep this short, they only want Chinese citizens to use their app now. So I'll just go ahead and delete it.

They restricted my account for not having my real name verified, which I did not know was required. After I fixed this, I appealed the ban, but they denied my appeal with no reason, now I have to wait a week to appeal again. Very frustrating since I was making new friends, and now I cannot reply to any of their messages.
It doesn't allow outside their country use for too long. I just lasted 10 hours or so using it because it asks for verification. But when you give them what they need, it will not show the country's options. ONLY THEIRS! DO NOT PUT THIS ON PLAYSTORE IF YOU WISHED YOU CAN ONLY USE IT ON YOUR OWN!
I downloaded this app to my mobile phone, but I can't create an account because when I launch it, the first page shows no way to let me register with my mobile phone number option, there's no way to open an account, how come this happens? It's ridiculous and unreasonable, so weird. Is it a common phenomenon? I can't create an account with my mobile phone number!
It is good, until its sensitivity issues or i dont know why, it forces your account to auto logout and unable to login at all. Verification code forever failed to send out, unsure why. Need ID etc but as a foreigner user, we don't even have such things. Cant even use password method too (only for their local citizens). Already messaged CS yet no reply at all.
I just installed this game today, and I've already encountered some problems, like 1.) I can't bind my phone number after making an account, so I can't edit my profile, and 2.) I suddenly got logged out after looking at my history. Please fix this for us, foreigner users, to be able to use this app.
Xiaohongshu has numerous and overly sensitive rules. My account has been blocked, and I'm not allowed to cancel it. I've been asked for passport verification, screenshots, and to wait, among other time-wasting requests. I'm unsure if this is due to internal issues, but the process is being delayed repeatedly. They won't allow cancellation, yet they retain my personal information, and I don't know what they intend to do with it.
the app is good, but it's so infuriating to work with. I got a permanent restriction because I posted something that violated a rule, and the only way to lift that restriction is through a real name and face identification. tough, but alright. I try to enter my info, but I keep getting the wrong ID number. I have a hk permanent ID, and I input it's number into the ID number slot in multiple ways, but it kept saying invalid ID. I also deleted that post.
Dear RedNote Team, I hope this message finds you well. I am experiencing an issue when trying to veriy my number through the RedNote app. Even though I enter the phone numbers correctly, the system automatically rejects them and does not allow the call to go through. I have tried different formats (with country code, without, etc.) but the issue persists. Kindly look into this matter at your earliest convenience and let me know if there are any additional steps I need to I need to take. thanks.
Malaysian here, account got restricted permanently with a reason of "your account may be at risk of non-personal operation". I'm pretty sure that my account is very secure. And got asked to do the real name verification, but I don't have a passport :) . Contacted the customer service twice, they only asked me to do the verification :). There is no reason to spend hundred bucks to apply a passport just for a social media's real name verification :) since i don't travel abroad :) So disappointed !
A very friendly and supportive platform. I don't speak Mandarin but I was able to figure out how to set up my account with ease. It is easy to navigate. I love the communications across the world with everyone. it's so amazing to make friends, lasting bonds, cultural understanding, and learn about people not only in China or the US, but around the world. The atmosphere is very welcoming. within minutes my algorithm had my fyp figured out. I'm finding so much content and learning so much!
oh it's lovely met my Chinese spy on here on Xiaohongshu, the atmosphere, algorithm, rapid efficiency, content and easy translation makes it superior to most other apps I've tried! Not to mention how friendly everyone has been, how little hate speech it harbors, and how quickly they were able to put in a translation feature upon us Americans flocking to the app! I'd give 10 stars if that was an option. Don't forget to pay the cat tax!
This is the most positive, supportive, and friendly social media environment I have ever encountered. With much better quality content than many other platforms. Also love that it does not have ads nor things people don't want to be flashed with. FYI the developers added translation options for both comments and videos. If you you go to edit a video there is an option for bilingual substitles. I wish I had downloaded the app earlier. Learning and improving my Mandarin skills is also a plus.
I really hope the appeal system is adjusted soon! My account did get banned a few hours after being created (by a glitch, I'm assuming, as I had not posted or commented on anything). Today I saw the appeal option was working now! Exciting, but unfortunately, I could not submit my form because my phone number was incorrectly formatted (it's an American #) I will keep checking every so often with the hopes that I can get back to the amazing platform I experienced such a tiny glimpse of.
Extremely healthy environment for social platform, which is very refreshing to see. Even though I don't speak Mandarin, it's a relatively easy UI. Only thing I would say, is that it would be beneficial to have more translation to English (and other languages) for captions and such, but I fully understand this has primarily been for Chinese users. I'm looking forward to exploring the app and it's features more!
It's actually pretty good, the community is nice, there is a lot of AI stuff at the beginning of the actual app itself but the people on it tend to ignore that, It's a little uncensored and there can be iffy parts that allow young characters, but you can just report those and move on and they'll be gone within the week, and I do like the inclusivity on it and the translations, but sometimes they don't translate languages that are in the database, so sometimes I just can't read comments
Great at first, but after a few months...I'm starting to see some of the worst people on this app. I'll click to translate comments I come across, but some are just insanely colorist/racist! Not to mention, a lot of posts that I see nowadays are just reposts from other platforms that supposedly they don't allow? Or even just lazy posts that are just people "reacting" to an image or video without even contributing to the conversation. Only use this app to see cool artists that are only on here.
This has become my favorite social media app. Not constantly bombarded with ads, shops, or promo posts. If Americans are willing to struggle through Chinese menus and prompts rather than use social media apps that are natively English, rednote must be doing something right. On that topic, though, it has come a long way to accommodate English speakers since its initial popularity boom in the US.
Like many my account has been restricted for no reason and there is no real way to fix it. That being said the app was an easy 5 stars before the restriction. Then even now all restriction means is I can't post, comment, or message. I wasn't super active to begin. with and mostly just enjoyed the content. Which I can still enjoy even while restricted. So I guess for now I will just continue to view.
