They have phenomenal customer service, but their fulfillment and stocking systems are broken. You can order next day shipping, but they won't tell you that the lenses you ordered are out of stock. So the next day will come and go, and you might not even be notified. If you check your order on the app, it'll say that it hasn't shipped yet. You then have to contact them to fix your order. And that doesn't always resolve the issue. Extremely frustrating when you're trying to time your shipping.
Reviews for 1800 Contacts - Lens Store
← Back to 1800 Contacts - Lens StoreSuper easy to navigate and they did an eye test virtually for me because I didn't have a recent prescription. I only gave it four stars because when I went to reorder they automatically selected daily lenses(which I have never used) that would have cost 700 versus my normal ones that are 70 a box. I'm assuming they're trying to promote it or something but with one click to pay options since my card was saved and Google pay is also an option I imagine some people have gotten an upsetting surprise
App is good for ordering your contacts, but that is it. Lens gauge is broken, just reinstalled and now it doesn't count down at all. I had reinstalled because it didn't ever notify me when it was time to change my contacts, as someone who wears their contacts for 30 days, this was the most useful feature of the app, which now doesn't work.
Last time I placed my order, it took way longer than the guaranteed 5-7 business days to arrive. This time, I tried to take the online vision exam to expedite the process. Every time I click the button to take the exam, the app gets stuck loading infinitely. Pressing back doesn't help and I can't click anything on the screen. I swear this app tries its hardest to make it near impossible to re-order contacts.
App was terrible to navigate. Used web browser, just as bad. Found it very difficult to place an order, save a reciept, and locate the out of network form. Edit: Tried ordering again...this is the second order they decided to change without contacting me. Be careful if you have unique orders, they obviously can't process those and change it without permission.
This app couldn't have been simpler to use. This was my first use and I had a question about entering my prescription manually, so I called. My wait was very short for a kind, helpful representative whose first language seemed to be English! I went back to placing my order, which I completed quickly and easily. We'll see how the service goes, but one experience with the app was great.
Puts contacts you've never ordered first in the list of previous ordered contacts and tricked me into buying them. Ended up up paying way more for contacts I didn't want and doesn't give you an option to cancel the order even right after ordering. Be wary using this app, used to be good, but now just relies on misleading you into purchasing what you don't want for more money. Just a cash grab, find a better place to order from than this shady app.
Ordering with the app is ridiculously easy! I almost wasn't sure I'd completed my order the 1st time I used it because it was so fast! I've been a customer for 17 years, & this company is fantastic - always has great customer service. The lens gauge to remind you when to change them was an awesome feature, but got removed in an update. We asked them to bring it back, & not only did they do that, they also replied to our reviews. Thank you - because of you, we can all see better!
I actually love this app lol. I barely review anything ever but this one is just too convenient. You can either upload your prescription from your doc or they do an express eye exam which is pretty darn accurate. I dont know if it's technically more expensive than going to an optometrist but it's way more convenient and for that, I'll happily pay 35 bucks for contacts.
This app was very easy to use and it made finding and ordering contacts an easy process! One flaw is that I couldn't zoom in on the picture of the box of the contacts to make sure it was the right one, I couldn't see the tiny lettering and it wasn't in the title, so it took me a while to realize I'd found the correct contacts. However, searching, selecting, ordering, paying, and adding your prescription is an easy process!
Quick and Painless. I really thought that finding the new transition lenses would take a lot of research, but instead 1 800 was quick on the uptake and I even got a hefty discount for buying in bulk. The app definitely sped up the already relatively hassle-free experience. The slowest part is waiting approximately 24 hrs to verify a prescription, which makes sense.
I think the app is really convenient and remembers your pay information so you can just click on a quick button to reorder. However they do take advantage of long time customers by jacking up the price of your contacts over time. I never checked other retailers prices before because of the convenience of the app but once they raised my contacts by $20 I got very suspicious. Turns out I had been overpaying for years now by hundreds of dollars so be wary.
It was super fast, super convenient and just a tad cheaper than all other quotes that I had gotten for my very strong prescription right lenses. **UPDATE** Used the app to purchase, recieved an email saying couldn't ship until my script was verified, which I had already done. So signed up for texts and was able to get help with that via text. Also, the app wasn't appearing in my widgets, it is still running in the background though. So uninstall it as soon as you are done ordering. :)
Great app, or at least it used to be. Not sure when it was updated, but lost Lens Gauge on this app. I used it to keep track, although I somewhat know upstairs, I have forgotten a time or two. Now it's no longer an option on Android. I have access to iOS and it's there on that app. Other than that, great for ordering new lenses quickly.
Easy to use, just be careful on the last step you click "subscribe" to their auto shipping it submits your order immediately without allowing you to review or edit, so not to happy 🤨! Plus it said that if I downloaded the app. It would give me free shipping well that didn't happen, it charged me $19.99 us dollars to ship. I will contact the company, regarding that fee.
It was easy to sign up. Easy to verify Rx. And shipping was amazingly fast. But they charge almost 3 times MORE than my eye doctor for the exact same contacts. Can't explain why. The manufacturer sets a price and my Doc charges the same. 1800contacts charges more than double. I understand they gotta make money, but it's a rip off. I can't imagine a scenario where it's better than just paying msrp. Never again.
App will no longer work on my Android, I have auto updates on, restarted my phone, uninstalled, and re-installed the app. Open the app, and once I try to click anything, it crashes. If i google 1800 contacts and click the link, it takes me to the app and lets me navigate the app, but as soon as I hit the home tab, it crashes the app. I have contacted support via email, and they seem to think it is my wifi connection, which it is not the problem..
I want to start out with the positive. The app is great, and prices are awesome. The contacts fit well. The only thing in disappointed in is the color of the contacts. I ordered amethyst, and you can't even tell there's any purple when I put them on. I've been trying so hard to find good purple contacts that are prescription based for my eyes. I'm scared to try any other colors, because I don't think they would show up based on how the purple didn't show up. I got the air optix colors.
it works to hold onto your information just like a website with cookies. It's convenient if you already know the exact contact brand you want, but if you are new and trying to compare prices, it doesn't show you unless you click through and run your insurance and get to billing before it shows you a price. Additionally, it says, "Text with a human to assist with your problem," but it is an AI bot. Don't even try to call their phone number. You'll wait on hold for 30 minutes. Do the rebate!
very easy to order and reorder.. great prices depending on the specific brand, though! The " higher end" brands are only a few dollars cheaper than at the optician .But the lesser known brands are very cheap! like the Aqua soft lenses! sometimes there is inconsistency re: when the contacts arrive, with the standard shipping..other than that, happy with the app and the company.
