Reviews for 2nd Phone Number - Call & Text

← Back to 2nd Phone Number - Call & Text

Gets worse and worse. Now they are charging 100 credits to keep the number. I hate this app and absolutely regret setting up my biz line using it. It's littered with ads. I have to check in everyday to earn 1 frickin credit while my other second line phone apps don't require that nonsense. If I have my Bluetooth device in use and my number rings it disconnects and makes a mess. I then have to force close the app, turn my bluetooth on and off and sometimes restart my phone completely. 0 stars!

This is a great app if you are stuck without the means to have a regular data plan. It provides you with an actual phone number, and better yet that phone number will work for many verification needs, e.g. Facebook, and some other apps. The call quality is decent, provided you have a strong wifi connection. Most calls and texts are completely free. They do offer various tasks to earn credits to cover calls that are not free, and to lock in your number. Numbers are portable, a big plus! Good app

You get a free phone number at $5/week! Awesome deal, wish more apps advertised, offered and then truly delivered on free numbers like TalkU. In all seriousness, I'd be happy to trial the service, and then if it works, I still wouldn't pay $5/week for a phone number when other apps offer either legitimately free numbers, or you can pay $20 to get a lifetime number. This is just false advertising...

They don't tell you until you create an account that you can only make free calls to people with the app. Normal calls cost you credits which expire if you don't use them. There's a way to watch videos for credits, they call the credits free but you don't get them unless you earn them so that's deceptive, and the "free" credits expire 75% faster than the credits you purchase. No thanks. Deleting this app

By far, the only application that actually is "FREE" anymore. I have used TEXTNOW, TALKAPHONE, 2ND LINE, ALL OF THEM USED TO WORK, NOW NONE DO, EXCEPT THIS ONE! Like all free call apps, you have opportunities to buy/purchase in app minutes. You really do not need to. Check ins and ads are worth it because you gain free minutes! Premium is not expensive and comes with many more features. I read reviews and im not usually one to write one but this app does what it says. Easy to pick your free num

I had downloaded the app and tried it out using their free credits. Then I took the next step about getting 3 months for $29.99 of unlimited talk and text. To this day I am still seeing a low credit balance because the code that was sent to my email did not work. I would like to have help in this. I emailed support 3 times about this issue but so far no help. I would give the app 5 stars if this was resolved. Thanks.

Been using this app for a while now and I really enjoy it! I can do everything you would expect to be able to do with a normal phone plan by playing quick simple games, watching ads, and completing different tasks which have turned out to be pretty good entertainment in my free time! One of the only apps I've been able to find with a free number that will receive verification codes without a subscription, and the app doesn't spam you with requests to buy premium even tho that IS an option.

Wow. Promise verification codes and you can't even view them because "this message is not fully displayed as your number is in risk of expiring, which could affect the safety of your relevant account. To show the full content, please lock in your phone number now." App interface is garbage. Don't believe the reviews; they're obviously fake. If you wanted a second phone number that stayed "relevant" I'm afraid you're out of luck on this one.

Was pleasantly surprised with this app. I've had other ones but they have never been like this one. The credits are easy to get, it's simple to use, when they say it's free they really mean it's free. Unless of course you'd prefer to buy credits or pay to lock your number, it really is free. And the absolute best thing is the kitty they give you to take care of, all the while collecting credits. Definitely recommend it to anyone.

So the service is decent. The customer service is timely yet not very helpful. Every FAQ question is about their forced credit games. If you sign up for a membership the only chance you have to know what's going on within the app is the moment you sign up. Other than that, you're pretty much on your own. You have to check through your Play store or IOS app settings to verify. Also I'm waiting to see if my membership subscription is refundable because credits are not. Ugh, they make it difficult.

Misleading. I downloaded a solitaire app to get 763 credits. I opened up the game like they said to do for the credits, but I also actually played (and won) the game. When I went back into TalkU, I didn't receive the credits. The other weird thing is every time I open the app, I have to pick a new number, even though I already picked one. This app is a great idea and appreciated, but I don't like that they say they will give you credits for doing something, then don't.

this app is absolutely horrible!! my husband is in jail I tried to use this app because I was able to have a out-of-state number which made the phone calls cheaper on him. but every time I spoke with him the calls would be disconnected. you have to watch videos to gain credits. this app would show you have credits on the account 1 minute and the next minute it would say you're out of credits. it took forever for the credits earned to show up if they even did it all. I would not recommend!!!!!

when I attempted to score some credits from a survey on this app, not only was I not rewarded the credits, but now I have random numbers calling in on my phone number at all hours of the the day and night. Its quite annoying. Also when I have near to, and a full Wi-Fi signal, my calls are either dropped, or the person I dialed can't hear me, but I can hear them. pretty much useless, unless you want to just make text messages to your contacts.

Great app but in my opinion, it should be better set up so that calls may be completed for a better experience with your complimentary, if you will, calls. Personal experience, being disconnected after barely connecting an important call, especially being only means to call at the time, may turn out as reason to go elsewhere for a reliable call proving worth prior to charges. 40$ charge I didn't authorize in any way and still can't receive credits for a single call. Tell me how that work's?

Very easy to get credits for free, calls work great... Haven't try texting yet, but I'm sure that it will be working great as well. I totally recommend this app. I'm stuck in the winter storm and can't drive to make deposits etc...so my phone bill was due. Very thankful to be able to get my phone working for free while I cannot go outside and drive to get my phone service back!! Thanks a million 😁

Do NOT use this! This app is WORTHLESS. There is no way to cancel, remove your payment information, or close your account. I have to report my card as STOLEN to get them to stop charging me! You can NOT use this app to sign up for accounts. Total waste of time. Edited to add: they charge your card even after you suspend your numbers, and close your account. SCAMMY MUCH?

Says free... yeah for 3 days. Never mind better ones out there. It's only a trial, free for 3 days, then you must pay weekly $5.99. Most apps that advertise free talk and text are free every single day. No pay unless you choose to upgrade to a premium account. That's the only way to get a 5 star rating, correct your advertising, or make your service have a free plan in addition to the paid plan. Ball is in your court...

I used the free trial, canceled, and got charged anyway! I also couldn't find a way to contact anyone about the issue on the app. A lot of things on there are intentionally misleading. BTW, contacting them on the app doesn't help. They just tell you how you're not getting your money back, even if you barely used it and wanted it canceled. Don't expect the free trial to be free.

Indispensable!! Can't even complain about adds. They're not forced on us. They're to earn free calling time verses paying. Incoming texts FREE! Paying by the way, is an excellent option if it's in your budget, it's dirt cheap. Try finding a lower cost calling plan and if you do, let me know, because from my investigation, no other plans come even close. Thanks TalkU!!! By the way....any feature you can think of is available including call forwarding, etc.

It's good if you don't need to use frequently and often. It's technically free, you don't need money to set up or to make a call/send texts. However, you will be investing a great deal of time to earn credits if you don't want to buy a monthly subscription. The credit earning is relentless and could lead to actaully start buying stuff. You can't use the phone number as a way to verify yourself (you can't be sent verification codes from anyone). Get ready to get beat down with ads!
