Gets worse and worse. Now they are charging 100 credits to keep the number. I hate this app and absolutely regret setting up my biz line using it. It's littered with ads. I have to check in everyday to earn 1 frickin credit while my other second line phone apps don't require that nonsense. If I have my Bluetooth device in use and my number rings it disconnects and makes a mess. I then have to force close the app, turn my bluetooth on and off and sometimes restart my phone completely. 0 stars!
Reviews for 2nd Phone Number – Call & Text
This is a great app if you are stuck without the means to have a regular data plan. It provides you with an actual phone number, and better yet that phone number will work for many verification needs, e.g. Facebook, and some other apps. The call quality is decent, provided you have a strong wifi connection. Most calls and texts are completely free. They do offer various tasks to earn credits to cover calls that are not free, and to lock in your number. Numbers are portable, a big plus! Good app
You get a free phone number at $5/week! Awesome deal, wish more apps advertised, offered and then truly delivered on free numbers like TalkU. In all seriousness, I'd be happy to trial the service, and then if it works, I still wouldn't pay $5/week for a phone number when other apps offer either legitimately free numbers, or you can pay $20 to get a lifetime number. This is just false advertising...
They don't tell you until you create an account that you can only make free calls to people with the app. Normal calls cost you credits which expire if you don't use them. There's a way to watch videos for credits, they call the credits free but you don't get them unless you earn them so that's deceptive, and the "free" credits expire 75% faster than the credits you purchase. No thanks. Deleting this app
By far, the only application that actually is "FREE" anymore. I have used TEXTNOW, TALKAPHONE, 2ND LINE, ALL OF THEM USED TO WORK, NOW NONE DO, EXCEPT THIS ONE! Like all free call apps, you have opportunities to buy/purchase in app minutes. You really do not need to. Check ins and ads are worth it because you gain free minutes! Premium is not expensive and comes with many more features. I read reviews and im not usually one to write one but this app does what it says. Easy to pick your free num
I had downloaded the app and tried it out using their free credits. Then I took the next step about getting 3 months for $29.99 of unlimited talk and text. To this day I am still seeing a low credit balance because the code that was sent to my email did not work. I would like to have help in this. I emailed support 3 times about this issue but so far no help. I would give the app 5 stars if this was resolved. Thanks.
Been using this app for a while now and I really enjoy it! I can do everything you would expect to be able to do with a normal phone plan by playing quick simple games, watching ads, and completing different tasks which have turned out to be pretty good entertainment in my free time! One of the only apps I've been able to find with a free number that will receive verification codes without a subscription, and the app doesn't spam you with requests to buy premium even tho that IS an option.
Wow. Promise verification codes and you can't even view them because "this message is not fully displayed as your number is in risk of expiring, which could affect the safety of your relevant account. To show the full content, please lock in your phone number now." App interface is garbage. Don't believe the reviews; they're obviously fake. If you wanted a second phone number that stayed "relevant" I'm afraid you're out of luck on this one.
Was pleasantly surprised with this app. I've had other ones but they have never been like this one. The credits are easy to get, it's simple to use, when they say it's free they really mean it's free. Unless of course you'd prefer to buy credits or pay to lock your number, it really is free. And the absolute best thing is the kitty they give you to take care of, all the while collecting credits. Definitely recommend it to anyone.
So the service is decent. The customer service is timely yet not very helpful. Every FAQ question is about their forced credit games. If you sign up for a membership the only chance you have to know what's going on within the app is the moment you sign up. Other than that, you're pretty much on your own. You have to check through your Play store or IOS app settings to verify. Also I'm waiting to see if my membership subscription is refundable because credits are not. Ugh, they make it difficult.
