Reviews for AARP Now

One of the worst apps I've ever used. Prompts me to log back in constantly, and tells me my password is incorrect when I know it is not. I have to go through the password reset process every time I use the app. The authentication process is extremely buggy, which makes the app almost unusable.

despite all the information entered, does not automatically tie to my existing membership but instead appears to create a new one. "Benefits" defaults to my county for location, and when I opt for "New Location" to enter major cities along an upcoming travel route, each location I try produces "No Results." So far just a useless and messy app.

App needs some improvements in navigation and a special section that marks off the rewards. It's jumbled and can be confusing especially to anyone new to the internet. Plus, I haven't gotten my cards, but I keeping get notices in the mail to join as if my joining has been unlinked somewhere. Otherwise it's a tool to be used, I just hadn't figured out where for me at 50?

Interesting and relevant articles, but it would be so much more useful to be able to bookmark them for reading later/saving them, to be able to share with others, or making notes of important points to save to a personal notebook... so many improvements that could be made to make this app more useful than the average webpage instead of less so.

There's pretty much no point for this app. The points are useless you can enter them into drawings that you will never win or they can help you get discounts to spend a ton more money on their website. But truth be told as much as I love discounts there's almost nothing here that's going to get you a decent discount that you can't have acquired without this app. Very disappointing.

Medicore at best. There should be better ways to find things in my area. Asked to search for restaurants in my county and gives them for 100's of miles away. Don't think so. Also, insane that when you hit Learn More it takes you online and you need to enter password again. I use apps so I don't have to constantly enter passwords as they are all different.

I'm an AARP member, pay dues and make donations and still have to watch ads to get to some places, like doing puzzles, etc., to earn points. This frustration is exacerbated by having to click through so many screens to get there. Then, after all that effort, the options to redeem rewards is pathetic. Most reward opportunities are just to get into a drawing for something. And for the few options to use a extremely high number of points for a $5 reward, the merchants are few and not popular.

Downloaded the app. It told me I was entering the incorrect password. I definately was not! Retried several times. Uninstalled the app! As most other reviewers have said...PROBLEMS, PROBLEMS, PROBLEMS! One can't even get past the log in. I'll come back and try again in the future. No one has time to keep playing to get into an app. It's sole purpose is for on the go, quick access. This problem has dated back for many months.

There are no real discounts with this app/membership. The discounts they provide for hotels/cars are the same from a general Google search. Now the price has increased to $20. I just cancelled auto renew. I'm not saving anything with AARP. And their customer service is lacking. Can't reach them via chat. When I called, I had to input my information 3 times. I finally just started hitting zeros until I was transferred to someone. Other than cruise gift cards there's nothing worthwhile.

I have the app on my phone for my parents. Haven't used it much for the actual services, but I do get push notifications from them. I went into settings and turned off notifications for news articles, as they were totally irrelevant, but they still come up on my screen. I contacted customer services and they said there's no way to change that. So that's fun. I get bright red important looking pop-ups in my notifications and it's just an article about a guy who took money from his 401k too soon.

I really do not like the app. Probably 99% of what I see is useless. Tried to search hotel discounts in a certain area, got nothing. Tried to opt out of basically every notification, my inbox is overflowing. Don't want emails, get them every day. Tried autobot chat - 3 times - talks about human friends helping me, try later. That's a complete waste. I'm a new member, but really do not see anything here for me. Complete letdown. If aging means joining groups like this, I'll go it alone. Sorry.

Glitchy app. Cant add spouse. Rejects name saying it can't be the same as primary member even though they are different. Bizarre. No customer service email, just a brainless chat bot. It's already not looking promising for renewal if they can't even get the basics right. Also, after only a few days, I am being bombarded by obnoxious sales calls numerous times a day. They obviously sold my personal info immediately after signing up.

Won't accept my email. Baffles me that there are apps and web sites that still don't allow email addresses with special characters, a hyphen in my case. Also, when I hit the registration button, I can see the "check for a valid email address" message, then the app locks up. I have to kill the app to get out. This app is not ready for prime time.

CONSTANT problems with actually earning points. Constantly getting the error message "Sorry, no points this time. We are experiencing longer than expected delays in your points awarding. Please check yout transaction history in a couple of minutes." This started about 6 months ago. I have uninstalled/reinstalled. So annoying that this is a reoccurring thing cause I know, from looking at my balance, I'm not getting most those points. I used to be in the 300k, and building. Now I'm barely at 150k.

I have used this app for years, and I still have issues with loading the crossword puzzle games. All other games load just fine. I've tried deleting cache, uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. The other reason I only give 3 stars is the reward points. I have over 55,000 points, but can't find any rewards I can redeem these points other than stupid sweepstakes. Travel doesn't use the points.... It gives cost in $, not point redemption; the same with gift cards. I don't get it.

Don't know much about app, don't really use it. I just wanted it for the bar code in case there's a discount I can use. But with that comes a barrage of notifications (five yesterday, three so far today). Basically notifications are all or nothing -- can't get just offer notifications without getting all the other notifications. This is exactly why I didn't want the app, and it's why I will not renew my membership. Not related to the app, but AARP-related physical mail accounts for approximately half of the mail I now get. But it's all INUNDATION, far too much to at all be considered helpful.

Yikes! Applying for a life policy through the app, and I need my membership number. It would be great if it would have carried over and populated, but okay. Since I don't have my physical card handy, I had to back out of the almost complete application to look it up. Then, on my second try, when I looked up my bank info for billing, the AARP app lost the application process! Lastly, there's no chat or feedback option in the app! We're not all dinosaurs.

It's ok. There is a lot to see if I could get to it. For example, if Iry to open one of the Now News articles the only ones that launch are the advertisements. Very frustrating. Also, when reviewing the different benefits like the AARP bookstore, clicking on "Learn more" does nothing for me. I get this with most of not all of the benefits. I'd like to use much of the app, but is not responding for me. BTW, I am a paying member.

I paid for the 5 year membership 4 years ago and so far I have gotten nothing out of it except repeat attempts by AARP to get me to pay for more years. The discounts are either useless (other deals are much better) or don't apply. The information is mostly common sense. The website has everything that the app has (and more) without taking up space on the phone. You don't need an app for everything!

Way too many notifications. Would rather get one daily notification listing everything instead of eight notifications a day. Of course the notifications are the only way to access an article. God forbid you click out or want to read it again. They're is no search function, no link to the website, no way to share the article or print it. Also, stop asking me to renew my membership. My membership is valid for the next 8 years!
