Been using the AARP SafeTrip™ app for a couple months now. It’s basically a driving monitoring and assistance app. Pretty solid if you’re into that kinda thing. Here’s what you do: you can track your driving habits and see how you stack up to other users. And there’s also this CrashAssist® feature which can detect if you’re in an accident and offer 24/7 help. Took me a while to figure that part out but it’s actually really useful. Look, if you drive a lot, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the rewards program is kind of confusing – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out.

So here's my honest take on AARP SafeTrip™. I've tested a bunch of driving apps and this one's pretty good. The driving insights are actually super helpful and the crash detection is a nice added bonus. But the rewards system is a little convoluted and it can get annoying with all the notifications. Overall though, it's a solid app if you want to monitor your driving and get help in an emergency.
Pros
- Tracks your driving habits and compares to other users
- CrashAssist® can detect accidents and provide 24/7 help
- Earn AARP Rewards points for safe driving milestones
- Free to use with no paid features locked behind a paywall
Cons
- Rewards program is kind of confusing to understand
- Gets annoying with all the push notifications
- Takes a while to really understand all the features

This app uses an excessive amount of battery even when you are not driving. Fails to capture all travel when it is connected. What is the point?
I had this app and just uninstalled it... told me the speed limit on a highway was "35" when it was "65" and said I was speeding... not totally sure...
I have never been able to get in this app. I go through the entire process to the security pictures and it just spits and spins. It's been over 10...
