Scanned 3 documents so far and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Interface is intuitive and has the features I want. It is an Adobe product so it prompts you to sign in and tries to sell you on a subscription now and then, but so far I haven't hit a pay wall to: take pictures, auto crop and adjust, make a PDF, and send that document to an email.
Reviews for Adobe Scan AI PDF Scanner, OCR
Like many others I was forced to uninstall CamScanner, as Google had informed me that it contained advertising fraud. I downloaded this as an alternative, and to my surprise the functionality is buttery smooth. It integrates with Adobe Reader seamlessly. And the best part is that it's really, truly free. No hidden fees or subscriptions or any of that. I'm in love with this app, and will continue to use it for years to come.
Since I was asked to rate and review this app only after using it for less than 1 minute, there's only so much I can say. Uhhhh, it downloaded just fine. Ummm, I scanned a receipt and it took a good enough picture. Um, it saved to my phone, as it should. Sooo, yeah, it's been a good experience so far! 🙄 No wonder you can't base purchases off of reviews anymore... SO frustrating...
Easy to use! I have used at least 4 different apps and this one is the best. It does a good job making the white background white, which helps my printer, because it's not receiving as much(gray) data. I like that Adobe also has digital features to fill out and sign documents. This app is a great little companion to my printer. As mentioned before I've used a lot and this one makes scanning faster because it's so intuitive.
Neat idea, awful execution. It's literally easier and less time-consuming to just take phone pics, transfer them to a computer, crop and bundle them into a PDF, and then transfer back to the phone. Every time I went to save the PDF of what I scanned, the app crashed, and more often than not, it lost my progress. I uninstalled this POS the same day, and somehow lost over 100MB of storage in the process despite not having 1 file on my device to show for it.
Digital paperweight! Apparently the same problem has existed for more than a year. In order for business card images to be converted to text, they first have to be uploaded to the cloud. This is where the app fails. It simply doesn't upload, which turns the app into another way to add to your gallery and eat up storage. But, at least free. The problem has been reported over and over again, but it clearly isn't a high enough priority to fix yet.
WARNING: No longer free! It does go a great job (sometimes with some manual adjustments), and I came to love it and used it for the rare occasions I had a document to scan and email and such because it's more convenient than a traditional scanner. HOWEVER, definitely not worth paying a subscription fee given the free competitors. It works well, but several alternatives (Microsoft Office Lens, for one) are roughly equivalent, and free.
Easy to use. Perfect for my needs. An easy quick fun method for capturing family photos from years past. I get to send as a digital file immediately after scanning. This has basic editing tools, perfect for quick editing. Don't expect Hi Resolution quality so you can enlarge for photo frames. Alot of cell phones are not meant for that. Your PC is. I recommend this for beginners.
Excellent. I don't normally leave reviews, but this app just saved me a 30 minute trip and some time working. It gets a decent scanned image in seconds uploaded to the cloud for my laptop. I only wish the scan was slightly easier to read (it's a great quality scan), but that can only be a nitpick, it's amazing for when you need it on the go, or in a pinch.
Very helpful and functional app to scan documents. The only one thing I would like to say, then you scan document, there is no option to save it, only you can do 'retake' or 'continue'. After you press continue, only then you can press on the scanned document and share it or save it, or you're scanning next document. So where are two steps to get save scanned document instead of one, and they are not intuitive.
