The actual recordings and savings need work. Multiple times someone has walked to the door and the cameras don't even pick it up or save a recording. Or sometimes someone will try to see a saved video from a notification, will be able to watch it once and then it vanishes. Doesn't help anyone if footage sometimes gets deleted right after watching. Another major problem is how long the camera takes to load, sometimes more than 5 minutes... that could already be too late in a bad situation.

I tried to cancel multiple times but as you know it, they kept giving me excuses on how they had to try to fix it before I could cancel althoughthe contract clearly says 3 times in so many days, adt came out 5 times. And still wouldn't honor their contract. So now I'm stuck for 3 years. Now one of the cameras won't connect to my wifi adt want to send a tech that I have to pay for. I'm canceling.
the worst app. incredibly slow processing commands. usually have to sign out and back in to see if command went through. it's unsettling to rely solely on the app if it actually does arm the system if we forgot to do it. the panel and the app dont work in conjunction with each other. an armed panel will show unarmed on the app. dont rely on the app for arming and disarming the system. it's only worth is for viewing cameras if you have them
Not having a good experience with this ap. The panel does not communicate well with this ap. No changes made with ap are synced with panel, so what good is it anyways? Not even when enabling or disabling alarm! I had forget to enable "armed stay" on the panel, so I got on the ap and did it.... or so I thought. Came up after a shower to realize no alarm was set. We've had so many other issues with the service. I am 6 months into a 3 year contract. Grrrrrr.
App is great . The company is horrible to try and talk to on phone over a problem. To passed off to write it all down! They messed up on my account by closing my account after I called back nexted day and told them not to because I was going to use service till I moved. They were nice and said ok they would cancel the original order. Something went wrong. Big time!!!!
If you are considering ADT, DON'T. The system is horrible, $64 a month for the service to only work half the time. Random error messages in the app, or the app tells me my door was left open, when it wasn't. The microphone rarely works, and the customer service individuals, don't know how to fix the issue when they come out. Absolutely do not sign a contract with them.
Raising the rates on you even though your under contract is a true thing. But the main issue with the app is no customization. For a custom alarm, I have to go to the panel. Why can't I use the app to customize my alarm? I don't need every door alarm ready when I am home. What gives? The positive is they will call you, if alarm isn't shut off within reason and will send police if you deem it necessary.
Fed up with this app and these cameras. Talk about a great way to let strangers know your cameras are not working as they're flashing all kinds of colors. Constantly disconnects from wifi and can't get them to reconnect. Have spent the last 20+ minutes trying to troubleshoot a camera and can't even get the app to work. It keeps timing out or giving "error" message. Updated: App crashed, had to reinstall. Now I don't have all the options for notifications, therefore, I get zero notifications.
Live video viewing hardly works. It's easier for me to get out of bed, to look outside, to check out a noise than to look at the live streaming on my phone because it just won't connect. The only thing I like is being able to set the alarm on and off from my phone when needed. Other than that the app is awful. My family uses Google nest and they, immediately, are able to see everything going on with their live streaming. Ridiculous we can't.
When I get a notification about motion from any of my cameras it takes too long for the live camera to come up in the App. By the time it comes up, the person is gone and I couldn't have addressed the person if it was a serious issue. Also, the turn on/off light feature is terrible. Every time I open the App, it shows the lights on even though I havr already cut them off. I am not a fan of this App. What's the point of having the App if you can't pull up the live feed instantaneously?!
The app was one of the selling points for the system. After I was no longer able to "skip" 2 step authentication, I set it up. Now the app is frustrating to use. Even if I follow the steps and "disable" TSA, it now makes me set it up each time I go to use the app. I cant remain logged in, even if I check that box when I log in. The code goes to the last one of us that had to re setup TSA. So code doesn't always go to me. Has become frustrating to the point of being worthless.
Very poor video quality along with extremely slow voice over video responses. The app seems to freeze up more than not. It's frustrating when you call in for help, they want to charge you a fee to come and fix THEIR system problems. I could understand a charge if we had broken or neglected something, but this is RIDICULOUS! Really wish I'd never purchased this system. I see now why they lock you into a 3 yr contract. I just want out at this point.
The two factor authentication is a pain if you have more than one person using the app. It is also annoying having to skip it everytime I open the app. Turn that off! Also, the app is slow to activate and access the doorbell camera if someone rings the bell. It's quicker to walk to the door. Need a faster interface. And the camera doesn't pick up every movement like it should.
I have 4 cameras total, and they only work maybe 70% of the time. the contract is just way too expensive to get out of and the contracts are super lengthy and the equipment is expensive, I spent over $1200 on the cameras. I can't wait to cancel, I do not feel safe, because if something happens, who knows if the equipment will even work. I've had multiple service calls. I do NOT RECOMMEND, you are better off purchasing cameras and a security system off Amazon or anywhere else.
The basic arm stay/arm away/disarm function are incredibly easy to use, that's great! But there are a number of situations, such as adding a guest user, or setting up an automated on/off schedule, that can only be done on a computer or on the keypad, but not by cell phone, which is incredibly frustrating. It's really only a partially functional app.
No panic button, and other surprising misses. You would thing an alarm system app would have the ability to press a "panic button" to report an ongoing crime. (for example, a burglary with occupants at home.) Also, although ADT allows for multiple users to be set up on their hardware, there seems to be no way to give them separate access to this app! that's a big problem, because I have to sign on with my password to housesitters' phone apps.
Has a major delay. App also keeps saying cameras are disconnected and have errors. Cameras have to be reset weekly, sometimes even multiple times in a week. Which wouldn't be a problem, if they were not hardwired into a power outlet that is extremely difficult to get to, or a ladder is needed to get to the cameras to unplug them directly. Update to add: still having issues, and when calling the support number provided, have been placed on holds over an hour, then have the calls get disconnected
Poor. I've had to uninstall/reinstall the app on a few occasions. The cameras do not operate like they are supposed to. I may get a video of cars passing by, but no videos of people. I've checked the settings repeatedly, and it's the same. Inconsistent video captures. Now it's not even loading for live video. I'm seriously thinking about canceling service. Just think I paid hundreds for the cameras. I'm TICKED.
This app stopped working for 2 weeks and I don't know why. The quality has slowly deteriorated. The response time to show live camera feed had gotten slower and slower until it just stopped altogether. Not to mention that I don't receive app notifications until 2-3 minutes after an event has happened. That's not helpful at all. Plus, the cameras don't have sound. If I had money to invest in DIY cameras, I would recommend that over ADT.
Even with the latest and fasted wifi, the system is slow, and cameras constantly lose connection. Even have multiple wifi extenders throughout house and garage. They work when they want to. Even after reset and calibration and updates. Cameras go offline missing impirtant events. Had to get rid of smoke alarms due to going off randomly for nor reason and it was so annoying. I'm starting to rethink this ADT System is worth the price. After first year, on your own and service calls overpriced.
