I didn't know such an app was possible to create and yet here it is. As more and more speakers are connected to Wi-Fi, it's the ultimate tool to play music with anything other than your phone. I bought speakers that I never managed to get working and with this app it works magically. And the developer is a super nice guy who willingly helps!
Reviews for AirMusic – stream your music!
I use this app to AirPlay cast audio from my phone onto an older AirPort Express access point, which in turn has analog output to my stereo system. It really just works (I use rooted mode). The audio connection is stable for me. The UI is plenty intuitive. As a bonus, this app can also cast audio to multiple devices simultaneously - I'm able to cast audio to both the main receiver and a Nest Mini in another room. Support was responsive to the one issue I had, which was was a license transfer request from the 'AirAudio' predecessor to this new app.
I specifically bought a Google Home Max to integrate my Chromecast with AirPlay, and it works inconsistently. After doing some research, I came across this app, and it was an easy purchase. It works as advertised. I would like Echo devices to be included since Fire TVs show up.
App was ok didn't allow me to change volume on airplay from phones volume as it described. Which wasn't the worst thing because it played the music through the phone too! So would play through phone and the speakers which isnt great when it has a delay. It is pretty user friendly though. with some.improvements could be great.
Very nice app all Android user who have speakers wifi or network support. It is a better alternative to Bluetooth streaming since wifi have a longer range and covers a wider area as compare to Bluetooth. Good job done by the developer(s) It will be nice to allow the app increase the volume of speaker your streaming to by using the volume buttons on the phone and not increase volume on the phone. It will also be very nice if there is a windows version as well.
At last, an app which works perfectly, casting any source I have to a pair of Sonos 1 speakers. BBC sounds and music player from the same device. Prior to this a Sonos update removed the possibility of playing music from my phone due to a licensing issue, meaning I had to use an old tablet for this. The speakers are not cheap, and I thought that as I owned them I would always be able to use them as I wished! The Sonos app refused to update on my Android phone which brought me here.
Works great now, after the app didn't work initially on my pixel 8 in the background. The latest Android update did it as suggested by the developer. The only other thing I noticed after using it more is a longer delay when streaming to my sonos, espeilcially when streaming to different rooms. There is a latency between those speakers and they sound slightly desynchronized, causing an artificial echo (e.g. between living room and kitchen) when using this app. Otherwise it's great.
I recently switched from iPhone to android and lost the ability to airplay my music. I have an apple airport extreme attached to my amp. This app connected my android back to the airplay so I can stream apple music to the airport express. Things that if possible it would need; music plays from the phone speaker and airplays at the same time, annoying to have to mute the phone. Also the volume on the phone to adjust the cast volume would be great. Only app I've found that does what it says.
Amazing app! The only problem is that it doesn't transmit song duration. This means that when streaming with metadata and album art, some recievers don't automatically refresh that metadata. I thought rooting my phone and using the magisk module, it might help, but it didn't. Although it did improve audio quality. What I resulted in doing was using a external Mac as a airplay reciever on elmedia player, and displaying the Mac's screen on my TV! Elmedia player works well and updates metadada.
Outstanding app! I have two Sonos:1 speakers, somewhat old, and thus with no support for Airplay, but otherwise with great sound quality. The only problem - really a huge problem - with Sonos is that these speakers can be fed only by the SONOS app, which does not allow to stream music from other sources other than the Sonos app. AirMusic streams anything playing on the device, regardless of its storage location, such as streaming to the device, on a NAS network drive, and on the device itself
