never using again. I want to delete my account, but since $1.50 got auto invested on 9/4, I can't delete my account with money in there. the auto invest was done on 9/4, rules state you can't withdraw until the transaction has been "processed" not only does the transaction show processed, but it also shows completed. cs is telling me that it wasn't "processed" until the 12th. what "completed" means, I'm not too sure, but you'd think that it would mean it's available to withdraw, but guess not
Reviews for Albert: Budgeting and Banking
← Back to Albert: Budgeting and BankingI would NOT recommend this app. while the app itself is ok and fairly user-friendly, and the deposits are fast, the customer service is the worst I've experienced in years. they only offer support via email or text and you only get a reply every 10-20 minutes, and they don't pay attention to anything you say. I'm not even sure they opened my account. if I could give negative stars I would.
DON'T GET THIS!! Very shady. Most likely a scam. Near impossible to close your account. Was a decent app for 2 years, but this year, using this card.. ABSOLUTE TRASH!! To put it short, they do everything great for the first few years, but the longer you use it, the worse it gets! They took away my Instant, even though I paid it back everytime I got a deposit. I'd even upgraded my account and linked an account that gets thousands, but nope. Not good enough. Don't waste your time and money!!
ADVISORY!! WARNING!! CAUTION!! RED-ALERT!! I definitely would not recommend using this app. This app/ service does almost nothing & is only good at getting it's users/ customers to pay it's ever increasing & subtly predatory "monthly service fee". Good luck trying to cancel or close the account. They purposely made it extremely frustrating & needlessly difficult to do so. One of the worst examples of this I've ever encountered. Don't just take my word, check out all the other bad reviews.
This app has a lot of really nice budgeting and AI assistance features. However to access all of them you need a ridiculously expensive subscription. I guess if you're rich it doesn't matter, but I'm personally going with Origin instead because it offers similar features for 1/3 the price. Also the cash advance is a lie because it comes out of your own investments and doesn't work without an investment account! Plus to cancel you have to look up your debit card number after being guilt tripped!
**2ñd review.... I still don't feel the site is as Hands-On friendly as it could be. it's still like pulling teeth trying to do anything. now on top of everything else, it's asking for another bank account for additional transactions. they have the information and now no loan or advanced is available and this with a new bank account that's got tons of information. top it off with the fact they took $10 for a savings account that I didn't ask for and I'm debating if I'm going to keep the app.
This app is designed to steal money and freeze transactions for days, sometimes weeks. You will not be able to access your money in a timely manner. You can't even use the debit card. Tried paying for something, and the transaction froze and was stuck pending for days. The support is non-existent. Phone number leads to a robot that reads you options for instructions to email customer service. It is a joke. They charge subscription fees for savings, investing, etc.
Garbage app. I can't cancel my subscription and I can't cancel their mandatory "auto savings" feature where they just choose to withdraw up to $150 arbitrarily, any time they decide to do so. There is a pending charge that refuses to process, but they provide no information about it and you CAN'T cancel until it is processed-- even turn off the auto savings. I've tried making a manual payment, but they won't let me do that either because there's nothing on my account to actually pay!!
DO NOT SIGN UP. sketchiest app on the market. They make it VERY difficult to close an account and they take money out of your linked accounts unexpectedly. I would NEVER sign up to use it as a saving account but I'm getting $30 withdrawals for a "rainy day fund" that I never signed up for. they also require you to verify with an Albert Debit card to close an account, which makes no sense since I never signed up for a debit account.
Wells Fargo at its worst.. first they charge you $31 to even be able to take in advance they have a 6 day repayment window and you can't get it extended then they'll overdraft your account offer to pay the overdraft fee and put it into their savings account and then proceeded to charge you $29.99. then once your advance is repaid the system will automatically tell you you're not eligible for another one.. then you contact customer service and they do nothing plus they don't have a phone number
WARNING!!! Horrible! they trap you, take different amounts of money from your account each month or multiple times a month and make it impossible for you to cancel your account! DOWNRIGHT SHAMEFUL! i thought I was good to go when they no longer had connection with my bank account.Unfortunately, that's not the case. They are still taking different amounts of money multiple times a month from me.
This app is a scam. It is very VERY hard to deactivate your account (still trying). You have to jump through too many hoops for no results. Can't even delete accounts that are no longer active because that back for those account closed down. At this point they can keep the measly $7 in that "Saving Account" all I want is to stop paying for an app that I stopped using before I start taking legal actions about this.
Non stop fees. I'm 2 weeks I've been charged $17 fee, and 2 separate $8 fees. I tried this app and immediately wanted to stop but I can't close the account because I didn't know the last 4 digits of my Albert cash card, but I've never got a card and never asked for one. Use Dave, they didn't charge random fees and make it impossible to leave.
First, the auto savings feature is sketchy at best and not at all what anyone wants. Don't take money from an account that needs a cash advance. Second, after I repaid my advance, the link to my bank account got disconnected and would not show me to reconnect. Third, closing your account on Albert is a nightmare and has all the red flags of a data mining scam that everyone should avoid at all costs. Useless app and features that now have me changing all my info due to the shady app.
the app was excellent, but now it's not as good. the processing time takes too long. almost have to wait a full week in order to reborrow. even though they already withdrawn the money from my checking account. which in many cases can mess up the checking account. I don't understand what happened to this once reliable app. they take your membership fee out instantly with no process waiting time, but can take over a week to process a repayment.
I would not recommend using this service at all. Customer support is truly a nightmare. It's over text messaging which would be ok if the customer service department cared about customers in the slightest. They don't. I'm just a regular guy and had charges for an app I didn't use or recognize so I requested a dispute. Once my charge was refunded, they immediately suspended my account stating there was suspicious activity on it, and I have done absolutely nothing to warrant that whatsoever.
This was incredibly hard to cancel! I don't recommend. So I didn't need the service much and it was so hard to cancel. The cancel button isn't easy to find. It's in the help center under deactivate and cancel. But if you search that in the search bard, it will just tellnyou how to find it. It wont give you the option. Then you need to enter your ssn, next, enter the last 4 of your albert card which was hard to find. Then your balance must be at zero which took days ti transfer things over.
Very shady app! They make it near impossible to cancel your membership, so you keep getting charged. I tried several times to cancel and got charged a monthly fee while waiting. They are taking advantage of people who are already struggling financially. Stay away from this app. Edit: Regarding the developer's response, I've already closed my account, but not before I was charged once more.
I've used this app for over 10 months now and its gotten bad. The monthly price is outrageous, and trying to cancel your account is difficult at best, and not to mention when it autopays back it pulls out in random increments for no reason which adds unnecessary transactions. edit: they are now claiming that a transaction from over 2 months ago is still pending and that's why they can't close my account. what an absolute scam. I will be filing chargebacks if my account gets charged again.
This is probably the worst instant cash app I've used. Way too invasive restrictive. Minimal amounts, and have to pay it back in a week, even though I get paid every two. Kind of defeats the purpose. You can change the pay back date, but only after you've drawn, and only if you call their number. They also monitor your bank account, and draw small amounts whenever they want. You can't turn that off if you have an instant amount due. Try MoneyLion or Tilt.
