This app is still rubbish. There's always something that doesnt work, refuses to open, errors out. If not the features the entire app doesn't open the profiles. Absolutely horrible app, I will continue to divest from Ally. This is the most buggy app I have on my phone. Completely unacceptable. edit 08/2026: very sluggish, buggy app, half the time doesnt work, really annoying.

WOW. NOT ONE GOOD REVIEW....AND THEY DON'T CARE. Forced to update & log into google. Can't if away from home due to complicated code, so couldn't use my money!! Ally is useless!! No improvements again. Still cannot see balance after each transaction. Maybe they R embezzling? You must run a paper balance to be sure. What bank does that?? Making no more deposits. I have happily opened a new bank account!! Can't wait to get this awful, useless app off my phone permenantly. Free yourselves!!

App is average, bank services are below average, bank and credit service interface is way below average. Setting up linked account is a pain because they don't use plaid. ACH transfers are slow. They don't send debit card until initial deposit, meaning if your first deposit is direct deposit be ready to wait 7-10 days to use it. No digital card support, no benefit in processing time if paying Ally credit with Ally checking. Budget tools are primarily window dressing with nothing new.

terrible. I was able to log in ONCE and the website won't let you log in without confirming on the app. And don't bother calling customer service because all they say is to log on the app or website even AFTER you tell them that was the issue. They apparently don't have access to your account, which is ridiculous because they make you verify your information. DO NOT USE THEM IF YOU HAVE OPTIONS

App is failing - always says cannot access due to technical issues - also, had a pending cash back for over a month (usually takes a day or 2) - called to see why it was not applied, was put on hold for over 15 minutes - no one ever got back to me - used to be a good bank to deal with, now has deteriorated in all aspects from app function to customer service

This app works sometimes, and it doesn't. I have downloaded and re-download several times. I make sure the app is updated. It takes forever to log on. Then the finger thing doesn't work sometimes. I would have to use password log in. I constantly have to close it and reopen it just to get to my account. This is not good at all.

Every single time I use the app, I have to: Log in, close the app, force stop from system settings, open the app again and log in again. Otherwise it sits on the login screen, loading indefinitely. For nearly 2 years I've had this issue... I literally can't comprehend how this hasn't been fixed. For an online only bank this is unacceptable.

Error message after attempting to log in (AFTER putting in user and password), constantly asking for text/phone call verification even after telling it your device is ok, logging out in the middle of transactions. I have called about it, and was spoken to like I was someone who didn't know what I was asking/talking about. Please fix or go back to the previous version. It worked so much better.

If you're having trouble getting the app to open to let you log in, close ALL your apps. It simply won't let you log in unless it's the only app running - even phone calls, which makes it annoying. Would give five stars if I could at least open it during phone calls so I can give direct deposit info without having to write it down elsewhere.

app is outdated. App makes it very difficult to manage payments. It can and will take up to 10 plus days for a payment to go through. There is no reason for this. Especially when other pays are instant. Its painfully slow and outdated. You can send a payment ahead of time. And you are forced to wait. Making it very inconvenient. Especially when you are trying to pay other bills. With how outdated the app is. You have to plan 7 to 14 days to manage payments. It needs to do better asap.

I like using this bank but the app itself is so unreliable. I'll get "Something went wrong but we're on it" before I even get a chance to sign in. Usually it's fixed in 2-3 days but I've been trying for a whole week now and still can't get in. Unbelievably frustrating that I can't access my money when I need to. Luckily the website on a PC still works but there's no excuse for denying your customers access to their money. I even uninstall the app and reinstall it and it still doesn't work.

I have been a customer for several years and the app performance has really dropped as of late. when it works, it works really well. but lately that is more of an issue. transfer to buckets are unavailable that I can do immediately on the web, tells me transfers don't work but can do on the web, etc. So definitely app issues not acct. also as a feature enhancement when a bucket is overdrawn tell me the bucket, today I have to scroll through 30 to find which one and adjust .

Great app... but the "agree and continue" button for the new terms isn't functioning. The button can be pressed, but the "loading..." screen afterwards never disappears, and continuing to my account never happens. The app is closed and the terms are there again to be agreed to. Eventually it stopped showing the new terms and skipped to my account. thanks.

This app is unusable with my new android. Can't make payments, view payment breakdowns, see past payments, etc. Tried everything reccomended online to fix it and eventually contacted them a few times over the past 3 months, but nothing has changed. -In response to the recent reply from Ally: I've already reached out 3 separate times, provided all the requested information, and nothing has been done, which is why I decided to leave a negative review.

If your fingerprint doesn't work on the first try, you get "we can't take you to your account right now" you have to close the window, click the fingerprint icon next to the password field, and try again. Galaxy s23 Ultra edit.. I'm not going to waste my time helping you fix your app. I just told you what the problem is and how to reproduce the issue. Now you fix it. that's how this works.

Historically the app is slow to load, and it seems to forget weekly that I've enrolled biometric authentication and makes me enter a password (helpfully reminding me that I should enroll in biometric...). In the latest version, it also makes it impossible to use Zelle because the android navigation buttons are on top of the Review button at the bottom of the screen. Worked around by switching to gesture navigation instead of 3-button. Annoying.

Great. when it worked. I have only ever been able to log in once to Ally. My first month of having them. ever since then, neither app or website lets me log in. Just says request cannot be processed. Cant reset passwords, cant send secure messages or email as its all within the online access. So instead have to pay a fee to pay over the phone. When bringing it up to the service rep, fell on deaf ears. Just want the money. Will probably refinance my loan to get away.

Had the app since 2019 but it's gotten worse. Recently I've had trouble starting the app, making selections and having everything work the way it should. Most common, I need to get specific details on purchases and the app crashes, or click for help and I get a message saying the network is down and that feature isn't available (please call us). Why have an app if it doesn't serve the customer? The part driving me most crazy? Ally knows about these issues! Just read other reviews.

Have you heard of password managers? If so, you would allow more special characters. Also, what's a password hint? Again, password managers. Don't need this. I expected more from a company that's focused on technology more than brick and mortar. It was easy to set up auto pay for my loan, but setting up my login was really annoying. I seriously don't even remember the last time I saw a password hint being required. It's 2024.

This is probably the worst maintained app I have installed on my phone. It constantly fails to pass me from notification to the relevant transaction, and instead lies saying: "We Apologize Our system has encountered an error we are unable to recover from and your request is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later or call us 24/7 for help." But that's not true, because if I navigate to the transaction from scratch, it's actually available. It's almost bad enough to make me switch banks.
