Update 9/19: issue was resolved Sometime on 9/18/2023 (today) the Amana services lost my home location. The app will not write/save a new home location after I set it on the map, and as such I cannot connect to my thermostat for remote control through the app. Very frustrating as the app and my thermostat both show the same account. It should stop me from using geofencing but should prevent me from accessing my thermostat for control since it's the same account on the thermostat and the app.
Reviews for Amana Home
← Back to Amana HomeHave anyone had this problem, just had Amana System installed only to have the app or thermostat not recognize the Cloud. Received this msg. With WiFi enabled on thermostat, which it is. Go to settings, drop down to account add device, after adding click on the cloud to generate a 6 digit code which does not connect to the cloud.
The app does not have all thermostat settings available. Overall really basic thermostat functionality. Thermostat display doesn't change to indicate the system is running. No outside temperature provided from Heat Pump. With Internet connectivity I would expect additional info such as high/low temp forcast for the day.
I would love to see the screen saver display time and temperature in a more subdued way. currently only displays clock without temperature on a thermostat? come on folks think about it. apps very handy 😄 a phone widget would be great too. I was surprised there wasn't one, maybe in the future
Back button does not function how it should on most screens, using an archaic solution of having to use back buttons on the GUI that are in the top left of the screen. App is also very slow compared to competitors. The moment I can figure out how to use a ecobee or any other better thermostat with your proprietary nonsense heat pump I will be switching away.
So far so good. We were informed by our HVAC contractor this was a very new system for Amana, all the way from the equipment to the thermostat. Despite that, and this being their first install of this new line from Amana, everything spun right up and has been working flawlessly for the few days we've had it. Speaking to the app itself, it does a faithful job of mimicking the smart thermostat itself from simple setting to changing schedules and op modes. No complaints and solid for now.
App mimics thermostat; Thermostat is "dumb". This app literally shows exactly what is on the thermostat screen. It even uses the t- stat's keyboard instead of the phone keyboard. The thermostat falls short in terms of an older programmable thermostat and fails as a "smart" thermostat. I'm sorry in had this installed and only hope it gets better with future updates.
Super easy to use once setup! Love being able to look at system remotely
I keep getting a notice saying that Amana home app is switching to Skyport home app is it available now or do I have to wait till Oct 15th, because I can't find skyport home app
I have read that the Amana Home app is going away, and a new one has to be downloaded. However, I am unable to find the new one in the app store.
app works well but and why am I getting notification on the app that I need to go to skyport home when it doesn't recognize my controller?
Half the time I set the temperature in the app, it reverts and does not actually set the temp to what temp the app shows.
saw a notice stating that the Amana Home app is being replaced by a SkyportHome app. However, I could not find SkyportHome in the Google Play Store. Can you clarify whether the Amana app will indeed be discontinued or replaced? If so, when is the switch happening? Also, is the new app going to be available for Android (and iOS)? Why is SkyportHome not appearing in Google Play yet?
it's decent but seems to lack some functionality. also I have received a message every time I access the app, stating this app is getting replaced by skyporthome app on 10/15/25 but can't find this app for the amana brand on play store or by a Google search. there are other skyporthome apps for their other product lines but not one specific for amana. would be nice if they made this more clear or if the update is happening automatically.
Just installed a few days ago so starting w three stars and hopefully can move that up🤔 Seems fairly user friendly so far. ONE thing we would like to see added is the option to monitor your usage in real time!!! Helps a ton with keeping your budget in line.
The thermostat needs remote sensors like Ecobee and Nest. Unfortunately those products can't control all of the settings with the variable speed air conditioner. The thermostat reads the about 4 degrees higher than reality. I have verified the temperature using an IR thermometer. I regret spending the money on a system that I thought would improve overall efficiency. Daikin needs to fix software to adjust down the temp reading due to the heat from the thermostat or work with Ecobee and Nest.
Decent app so far and great system! I wish the app had a widget and the thermostat had a screen saver display that would show the info in the air quality screen, the time, and the current status of the system all at once. Very useful info for me to see what the weather is right outside as well as the system status and time inside, along with the allergen info all in a single glance. My previous thermostat had most of that info. That'd be so awesome to have on this 😁
Cons: Must log in EVERY time I open the app. No support for remote temperature sensors. No ability to see usage statistics. Cannot see heat pump/fan speeds. Cannot see outside vs inside temp, humidity on main screen (there's so much empty space, use some of it!), cannot see which equipment is running (if dual-fuel system). Pros: looks nice, easy to use (for what few functions are available). Please pass along feedback to developers.
The temperature setting sucks. Its incapable of maintaining the ideal temperature, because it has a wide range of 4 degrees. We constantly have to raise the temperature on cold days, and lower it on hot. We should be able to set the precise desired temperature, and then the ECS should figure out how to keep it there. Energy efficiency is a poor excuse for the lack of a hysteresis algorithm.
neither the app or the thermostat are very intuitive. basic settings are easy and nice. If I just want to raise or lower the temp right now, it's fantastic. programming timed settings is not great in either place. a straight forward guide that tells you how to do what you used to do on an older (but still advanced digital thermostat) would be useful. I can't imagine what this would be like for someone coming to it from an old analog thermostat unless they just only manually adjust it always
