Gives minimums required, but is lacking purchase details. Would like to be able to see what was purchased without going to the full site. Also, try allowing rewards to be used to pay the balance on the card, this would be nice. The app loads fast and tells you how much is available and how much you owe. Due dates require a bit more searching, but can be found. Just simplify the transactions and I'll be happy. Even if it provided order numbers that would be better than just "Amazon Marketplace"
Reviews for Amazon Store Card
← Back to Amazon Store CardDelayed and hidden transactions. The card is very useful for Amazon purchases. The app however is horrible at posting charges/payments. In my experience, charges show up anytime up to 4 weeks after a purchase and 1-3 days after notifying you a charge has been made. Until such time, they are hidden. Payments are similar, taking 3-5 business days to process; pending at first, then after the first day they become hidden from view. It's annoying trying to keep track of the card's balance.
Meh. The color is better but there is no clear explanation of charges. Monthly fees say shipping and handling, like why? Orders are not billed or grouped together, they are individually listed. So you don't know unless you flip back and forth to your Amazon account to see what was charged. The paper bill is no better. It doesn't even tell you what you purchase just what's due smh. I'm honestly over it.
The app is clean and responsive. Unfortunately, there is some basic stuff you can't do. You can't reschedule or cancel a payment. You can't see what the description of the item(s) you bought on each line purchase. That info is available on the card site when you log in from the web, so it is accessible. You can't see the status of promotional purchases. All of that is vital when accessing the card account. Not having those features forces me to still use the web portal.
Not as intuitive as better apps! Come on Amazon! You're supposed to be the best! And annoyed that after I paid my balance I get a $1.00 transaction from Amazon Retail on my account! WTH? I want my balance PAID OFF and you got me with this! A little scammy if you ask me! And I don't like my returns going toward an Amazon credit instead of my balance. I'm sure that was probably in the "fine print." Not sure I'll be using this card much!
What can u tell you about synchrony bank! The card app is okay. Very basic. I'm constantly accidentally paying $0.50 because the payment part starts behind the decimal and I'm just going too quickly. Next thing, I'm getting a late fee or denied my purchases because I think I've paid. Anyway, they use synchrony bank and they monitor your credit score, so now and then, they'll lower your credit limit! Which in turn, let's your credit score! Aaagh! GRRR
This app is great and user friendly for me. The one negative issue which should seriously be addressed is that it does not show pending payments. I keep checking back very concerned that my payment wasn't posted. It is like a black hole. My payment doesn't show as pending from Amazon and it doesn't show deducted from my bank account. Ths leaves me slightly apprehensive. It is a receipe for double payments and increased posting errors, which is an increase cost to this sites computer operation.
Warning to all. Never apply to this credit card. First, they closed your account without warning you, then goes in and keeps charging interest rates on top of your remaining balance, if you have any!!. This company is a ripe off!!. They call, charging you interest rate "purchase" rates. And on top of that, you can't even edit your payment dates, once, you set them up! Leaving you no choice but to cancelled and set preferred payment dates and amount. Now I love Amazon, but not their credit card!!
great Edit: I liked having this card to take advantage of "lightening deals"&to purchase everyday essentials. It was the only card I had in my name when I got it. However, the interest rate Synchrony charges is CRAZY HIGH,so my husband cancelled it&I now have another credit card with low interest&purchase " rewards",which has saved a LOT of money. This card has nothing to offer except high interest rates,so I no longer recommend it!!
Worst banking app ever. This app doesn't show the correct amount of remaining statement balance even after a payment is made and is no longer pending. If you pay your statement balance in full, it still shows the same statement balance if you click Make a Payment. Theoretically, if you forget you've already paid, you could keep paying non-stop. Not sure it's intentional or a bug.
The app makes paying Amazon very easy. I read some of the other comments from people who have had less than stellar experiences when using the app. I have never had a problem making payments or checking how much I owe. I hope, for those who have had problems, that they contacted Amazon directly (don't rely on comments). Good life and love to all!
Payments are slow to post. I love the interest free options on purchases BUT it's impossible to pay certain charges that are not interest free from the app, you have to call and tell them exactly what you're paying to avoid interest from Amazon purchases (which is a pain). After I figured that out I just keep the card empty and only finance one item at a time. I wish they would change this, I would definitely use the card more if they did. The interest rate is terrible and I have perfect credit.
I appreciate that Amazon secure card buy synchrony Bank are helping those who need a second started building your credit. But I'm frustrated about the payment process. I got approved with $100 credit limit, little over half of that, and made my first payment in full. It is now been over a week, and my payment still hasn't been posted to my account. There's no reason it should take that long especially when we're expected to pay a higher interest rate.
It works for paying and viewing balances but the app as a whole is HORRIBLE. Multiple days to process payments, I'm not sure if this is the app itself, or amazon, or communications with banks but it's pretty bad Don't bother turning on notifications, it says it may take a few days to send notifications. Guess what, it actually will never send notifications. Again, it works but at an absolute minimum.
I opened this account over 2 years ago and rarely used it. After not using it for so long they closed my account. Thats gonna hurt my credit score I've been trying so hard to build. Because I'm losing credit history, and a line of credit. So my overall credit limit dropped, ultimately increasing my credit usage. If they are going to force you to use the card then they should have some sort of inactivity fee. Rather than close your account for inactivity. Highly disappointed...
Edit: It's become worse... Now it asks you to rate it every time you open the app, even after you've done so. Bare minimum of a banking app, no way to view statements: it just provides a laundry list of purchase prices (not the item or seller) and payments made (on a different page). It is literally only useful for making payments which, sure, is really all you need but just feels unfinished. Just go to the website...
This is a great app. You get 5% cash back on your purchases, right away, shown in your account. This is more than I have seen on any other card. But purchases and payments don't seem to be debited or credited in real time. Thus the "available credit balance" is not up to date. Also, the card is not accepted at Whole Foods Market (at least not at my local one. However, when I got an order from WFM delivered, the 5% was credited, and covered the tip.) I deduct a star for each shortcoming.
Infuriating. I can't edit autopay and also autopay can ONLY be on due date. Not before. Not biweekly. Just. On. Duedate. Seems as if synchroni bank really just wants people to default since they make it so difficult to do payments. trying to pay off cc. every time I pay off balance they lower the over all balance. which means it hurts my credit score. never bank with syncrani. worst scam ever. I cant wait to be done with them. they will make sure you credit card is full. I want to close cc
It was a decent app, I was considering updating how much my income was. However, as I had a purchase with my credit card, I paid it off immediately. It seemed as if had not gone through. I tried and tried to revise the payment for my items, but as I contacted Amazon, they then told me they had lowered my credit limit, advising me by mail just after the day I made my purchase, without saying anything prior with purchase. If this is not scummy, I don't know what is.
Once you pay your balance off, they drop your limit to 100$. So when you go to make a purchase the week after paying it off, SURPRISE! You only have a fraction of the credit limit you thought you had. Not to mention the hit it does on your credit when you have XXXX$ open with on time payments, and then it drops to 100$ open, all because you paid it off.
