Reviews for AmpMe - Speaker Booster

I got this app so I could sync music with my friends on bus rides, etc. But then, I open the app, only to find that it costs $10/week to use. PER WEEK. This is nothing short of highway robbery. I'm not paying $40 a month for an app I'll seldom use. I honestly don't know how anyone can get their money's worth unless you used the app every day. I paid $150 for my bluetooth speaker, it would only take 4 months for it to instantly become a better deal than this. I do not recommend this app at all.

I just want a free version. All I'm looking to do is have 2 or 3 bluetooth capabilities more then the need for 8 connects. Great idea. Overpriced! The market for this app and idea is a one time purchase (1.99-4.99]for no ads. But a free works, you'd just deal with an ad every 5th unlock and open of app. Do. Not. Go. Crazy!!!! That's what's ruining every other platform. But this is the only app to seem to understand multi audio output... every other app is fake. Never more then 1 connect

$10 a month just to link phones together to play the same song? Anyone who thinks any number of phones combined is better than an actual speaker is either delusional, or a bot generated by the developers in a desperate attempt to have any general rating other than a 1-star. As a matter of fact. The concept alone is stupid. I could spend $60 on a speaker and have it as long as I want. This app would last 1/2 a year for that much, and if you wanna use it, then others need to buy it too🤣🤦‍♂ Scam!

It works really well the only issue is you have a limited amount of "parties" with out having to pay roughly 10 dollars. Which doesn't help if you already pay for a music or video streaming service like youtube or spotify that it connects to anyway. Essentially you could just get some speakers but it is an easy way to have surround sound if you dont have speakers.

Made like onion ring, priced like diamond ring. Neat trick, but too costly. If you like this app, go on amazon and buy a decent speaker using the money instead. Its a much better investment. Or at least search for a cheaper alternative. There are other apps that do this exact thing without the extortion, after all.

if I could give this app a lower rating I would. I'm not paying 10 dollars a month for an app I'm barely going to use. the only use I'd get out of this app is when I'm on a road trip. and to top it off if you don't sign up for either the outrages price or free trial they give you a notification every so often reminding you that your not giving them money.

I'm sure this app was made with great intentions. But it reminds me of a malware infected computer from the early 2000's and is completely unusable. I would suggest they allow you to use the service to connect one other phone as a free Option, then have an upgrade to do more than one device... But it took me 15 minutes to figure out how to play one song (not even the one I was looking for) off Spotify for 6 seconds, then it ended my session, before I added an other device, & asked for $10 a week

Mediocre at best. No updates since it was released years ago, still lags and loses sinc. The only difference is now they want to charge 10 bucks a month. Uninstalled and unsubscribed from the app day one once I saw they ran a 7 day trial and didn't want to get charged. After the uninstall and on day 7 I get a Google play receipt for the 9.99+tax. Weak app ran by weak techs, nothing new for this day and age. Move on and download something different.

One of the worst apps I've ever used. It crashes all the time, doesn't recognize YouTube premium and therefore you need to keep your phone unlocked all the time, pretty much doesn't recognize music services other than Spotify and Deezer, has a lag in Android and therefore Android users cannot sync with iOS users, and ... I can go on more and more.

Terrible "Free" app. You must subscribe before you can even listen to OFFLINE music. Simply a stupid money grabbing app. If you could even play music without a subscription, on a local device, I would probably give it two stars. But until then, this app is just garbage. User interface is too modern and attention grabbing, it's hard to use. Also attempts to grab all permissions so it can collect more data about you while you listen. Definite thumbs down in my book.

Does what it says, but not that well, and at way too high of a price. It syncs together the actual devices relatively close. There is delay incorporated from Bluetooth speakers, and different speakers might have different delays, so that makes things difficult, and there's no other slider or anything else to adjust latency. I wired the speakers to get past this. App can't load YouTube playlist >20 songs, and $10 a week is ridiculous. It was neat, but I'm never going to use it again.

It mostly works, but you have to pay way to much. $9.99/week for those that are curious. For my uses, I wanted to play the same song on multiple Bluetooth speakers, from multiple devices. To use the autosync you need an extra device that is not hooked up to a speaker. I ended up fiddling with the delay manually to get it to work. Later I went to try and use it again, only to be told I would have to purchase a $9.99/week subscription. No thanks, not worth $40 every month.

I was going to try the trial but don't want to end up liking a product I clearly can't afford. 9.99/mo I'd do but weekly? I might as well actually buy a home sound system! That's $519.48/yr + tax. A cheaper home sound system is worth more than just an app so I can pair bluetooth speakers together that don't sound nearly as good as a home setup. I get you guys need to make money too and keep your app up to date - but this is ridiculously unaffordable when you do the math. WAYYY overpriced. Sorry.

it is way too overpriced, if they made the app 2.99 they would have a lot more people buy it. $10 a month would be pushing in but $10 a week is so ridiculous. and I'm sure "a lot of thought goes into pricing" and whatnot but honestly that's way too much. I actually laughed when I heard that pricing. It's a great idea, but that price is just not feasible.

Price just isn't worth it. It cannot change the physical capabilities of your speakers (phone, laptop, tablet, whatever) so even if you had 4+ devices connected it doesn't enhance the sound quality, just the volume. Much better off to save up for a month or two and buy yourself an actually decent bluetooth speaker for $50-$100 ($9.99/week x 4.5ish weeks is equal to almost $50 a month) heck, if you want, buy two $50 speakers, that can connect, in two months and make it really worth it.

It sucks that all of the hype, internet searches and promo for this says that you can connect multiple Bluetooth devices to the app. Then you find out that you have to have a separate cell phone to connect each additional speaker. You cannot connect multiple speakers to a single device. So much for the party. And it costs $40 a month. Boo!!!

It is criminal what the developers are asking to use this app (after free-trail has terminated). $10/week, that's $40 a month for a simple app that hardly works when you want to use bluetooth devices! Be sure to carefully read what you are getting as well, because you have to use multiple devices (various phone etc.) to all play the same song. Unlike I thought, and I assume most people, you can't use a single device/phone to control multiple bluetooth devices. And again, for $40 a month!

When you sign up you get a three day free trial. After that, you're automatically signed up to a subscription that you get charged $40 a month for and it's not easy to cancel. I know of no app that charges this much. I just wanted rid of it, like some kind of digital leech. Just don't bother/ use discord instead which is *free*. For the amount this app charges annually I could buy three laptops or a cheap car. What managerial insanity, to decide to charge this much!

User Error. I usually cancel a subscription right away because I'm one of those people who will forget that I subscribed to an app, especially if I don't use it. Guess what? I couldn't find the cancellation area on the app. I got distracted trying to find out how to cancel. I tried multiple times on different days. I was charged for something that didn't suit my needs. Yes, I know user error. AmpMe should make it easier to cancel subscription.

For the $500+ price of this app for the first year, you can buy a heck of a lot of shiney new Bluetooth v5.3 speakers with Multi-Link or v4.2 speakers (with Party Mode) which sync all by themselves. Plus, they will still work without paying a weekly fee, no ads required. With this app, it's one speaker per phone plus ads. The bottom line is that this app doesn't do much to warrant its ridiculously high price. Uninstalling.
