Reviews for Apartment List: Rent app

Overall best apartment searching app I've used. It shows you so many options based on your criteria. The only thing I wish it had was a way to sort the short list (favorites) because the app recommends so many listings that you end up with a very long list of apartments. For example, sort from rent least to highest or distance. A ranking system would be cool too. Like spot #1 favorite, spot#10 least favorite.

i give this app 5 stars in regards to how it sorts your choices and organizes them; it really is unique in that no other app or website comes even close to helping you make lists like this, and sort your options for you. However, I'm knocking 1 star off because the app has never been correct on the pricing of the apartments. The app says they verify their info every 24 hours, but if they truly did, why are they consistently off $50-150 in price?

This app is decent as far as finding available rentals in the area you choose. However they force you to put in your phone number and then sell it to anyone that wants it. Not more than three days after I downloaded this app and signed in, my phone began to blow up with scam calls and texts. If you want your phone number on all the scammers list then download the app, but I warn you. You will receive 7-10 calls a day, and I'm on the do not call list. This is the only app I downloaded

Not well suited for my search tastes. To expand on my previous review: This app matches randomly based on a set of choices. One of those choice - commute location - will search within a certain radius around your commute (like an office). However it is not perfect. It does not take into account that you may want to live closer to a city center vs. out in the middle of nowhere. There is no map view to choose from and no option to filter out specific areas. Very randomized and not accurate.

Don't bother applying a price range filter. The app doesn't apply it to the other filters. Looking for a 3 bed, 2 bath location under $1800; all "matches" previewed as being within price range were disappointing as the price was for a different layout (i.e. 2bed, 2bath). It happened so often, I felt like I was wasting time whenever I entered the app.

Much easier to move through each apartment. Especially since people are looking deeper into the square footage, location (like first or second floors, plus if it's an end unit for less noise). And backing up in each site is a plus. Wi TY h the photos, I'd concentrate on inside apartment and not multiple pictures of office the pool areas, plus other extras. Still it's a very nice site to visit.

Clean and mostly easy to navigate. The notifications can be somewhat annoying until you tailor them. Would like there to be a consolidation of hits, say if there's multiple buildings/different addresses with openings for a single community. Would also like the option to select and keep a preferred location. Right now, you can add cities and neighborhoods, but trying to select a specific one to focus on doesn't stick. Otherwise, it's easy to use!

Alot of areas to look, they do the work and looking for you. All price range also. They ask about number of bedrooms, bathrooms, area you would like to move to, price range and any extra things you would like your new place to have, like a fenced yard, washer/dryer hookup, storage/work shed. Ect. Very easy and you get notifications when something new comes up. Really takes a lot of stress out of looking and riding around yourself wasting gas.

Their service does a great job consolidating and providing info. I especially liked the questions it asks when you get started and how it organizes and groups the results based on your answers. I also appreciated how it sorts your responses into a shortlist. If I had a criticism it would be when you like or love a listing, it offers to let the apartment know. I clicked yes about a dozen times and now I have about 3 dozen emails from them. I first thought it was a "show interest" button.

I care about location more than anything, but there's no option for map search and almost all of the listings it shows me are not in the locations i specified (even when choosing "stay in location, flex on everything else"!!!). Useless if the filters don't actually filter anything out. Also, only displays info about commute time on like half the options. The app is cute, but ultimately a waste of time if you have any specific requirements you cannot compromise on.

Set up in a way that allows you to define what you are looking for with detail, clearly, and quickly, so that you can find a variety of places based on what you're looking for with ease and honestly ten times faster than other apps or websites. One cool feature is that it also lists when different apartments have deals going on. Plus the over head view of all the places that you have decided you are interested in helps you compare distance from your work place, downtown, etc. Super useful!

We were placed in a situation, thag was totally out of our control. This app is helping us navigate our way, to find a place, we are unfamiliar with. I gave you 3 stars, because setting filters were difficult and understanding the demographics of the area govern the price. Most rent costs are higher than we can pay during patient care at the Mayo Clinic Transplant Center.

I'm not impressed. I wanted to see how this app compared to Zillow or Trulia. After signing up, I started getting a ton of emails that I couldn't unsubscribe from. I had to block them. I can't even readily delete my account. Also, I decided to double check the listings and they were incorrect. For instance, the app showed a house for rent that seemed too good to be true. Turns out it was sold for $1.2 million and wasn't at all for rent. I'll stick with Zillow Rentals and Trulia Rentals.

Pretty well organized and well thought out. I had a hard time looking at options I had viewed in the past. So it made it feel like it took longer to learn than I would have hoped. Because of this I spent more time frustrated at it than anything else. I wanted it to quickly give me options and allow me to browse more. It just kinda hid stuff I didn't even say no to and didn't show it again. Great idea. Not as convenient and easy as I wanted though.

Great idea, but this app has one of the worst interfaces of any of the apartment searchers. Info about the rental isnt easy to see, and changes completely based on which list you open the info page from, whether or not you've liked the house, and (probably) phase of the moon. I will cocede that I am looking for a rental with more than one bedroom, which may be why I had such a hard time with it. I dont know. All I know is that Zillow and Craigslist have been wildly more helpful to us.

Great app for viewing specials and comparing prices, especially if you're only interested in a few places. My biggest gripe, however, is the lack of flexibility in viewing. There are communities that weren't in my budget during my first run-through, that are in budget now, but I can't just search them up and add it to my list. I have to scroll through my disliked list until I find it. Things like that make it not as user-friendly as some other apps.

What I like is that you can hit the 💜 love or 👍 a place, and it gets saved in your list. It also breaks up the places by feature, locations, a combo of both. Or it would also show a list of places that has everything you want in a place plus if you don't mind paying more, or just stay in your price range. Your list is a good reference for future searches and keeping an eye on the price if it fluctuates.

App seems buggy as it's not adhering to my preferences. An example would be it sending a 'perfect match' notification of a place that is $500+ over my entered budget. It does seem to find some interesting places, though it did break for a few days after going through all of the "Smart Matches". It also had at least one listing that wasn't even available. This app could be useful but it being this unfinished and dealing with these bugs (that I've found so far), you'll likely waste a lot of time.

Some ok apartments, seems limited to me. Either you can spend an arm and a leg or you can be in sketchy areas. I know the DFW area has more to offer. Also, I can't stand how the app automatically notifies the complex if you click like/love. They end up emailing and calling you. You shouldn't have to have your information given out just for creating a list of potential places you might want to look into. This app is invasive for that reason alone!!! Update the app!

Excellent choice for one searching for the different options and considerations in getting just the right place to call home. They actually make a big effort to keep you in the loop when changes occur on their list. They categorize your selections to reflect your budget, (Of Course!), But also have lists made for 'amenities' (which were chosen by the apartment-hunter), and another list for possibilities slightly above your comfortable budget. All in all, it's a great assistant for all.
