Description
Been using AR Meter: Tape Measure Camera for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you use your phone’s camera to measure stuff around the house. Pretty solid if you’re into DIY projects or interior design and need to take quick measurements.
Here’s what you do: you just point your camera at an object and the app will show you the dimensions in real-time. And there’s also a built-in level which is pretty cool. And it’s got a feature that can measure height – took me a while to figure that one out but it’s useful.
Look, if you’re always forgetting your tape measure like me, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the AR can be a bit finicky at times – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you need a quick and easy way to measure stuff.
Editor Opinion
So here's my honest take on AR Meter: Tape Measure Camera. I've tested a bunch of measurement apps and this one's pretty solid. The AR technology works well for the most part, and I like how you can use it to measure all sorts of objects, not just straight lines. The level feature is a nice bonus too. But it's not 100% perfect - the AR can be a little glitchy sometimes and the UI isn't the most intuitive. Still, for a free app it's hard to complain too much. I'd say it's a good option if you're looking for a simple, no-frills digital tape measure.
