So here's my honest take on AT&T Secure Family® parent app. I've tested a bunch of parental control apps and this one's pretty solid. The location tracking is the big selling point - it works well and gives you a ton of control. The content filtering and screen time limits are also useful, though they can be a pain to set up. Not gonna lie, the app itself is a little clunky and not the most intuitive. But if you're willing to spend some time getting it set up, it's a great way to keep an eye on your family's tech use.

Description

Been using the AT&T Secure Family® parent app for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you keep tabs on your family’s devices – you can see where they are on a map in real-time and get alerts when they leave certain areas like school or home. There’s also some cool parental control features like setting time limits on apps and blocking certain websites. Took me a little while to figure out all the different settings, but it’s pretty straightforward once you get the hang of it.

The location tracking is the main thing – you can see where your kids are and get alerts if they leave a safe zone. There’s also options to set scheduled location check-ins, so you’ll know if they made it home from school on time. And the content filters are decent, you can block stuff you don’t want them seeing.

Look, if you’re a parent who wants more control and visibility over your family’s tech use, you’ll probably find this app really useful. It’s not perfect – the app can be a bit clunky at times and the location updates aren’t always instant. But overall, it’s a solid option that helps give you peace of mind.

Got this app to help keep track of our kids with their new phones. 30 free trial, great no problem. Decided to continue and pay the $7.99/mo to do so....

With Smart Limits I was able to block phone calls and texts during a certain time period with the exception of a designated list. I can't seem to do that...

I am so disappointed in this app. The location map is completely inaccurate. The feature that allows you to receive a notification when someone arrives at a destination does not...
