I use it all the time. A very good app. Wish it had chromecast capabilities. I use it for calibration of church sound systems. Also for checking out music l listen to. It runs from 16hz up to 20k l may be mistaken but most sound and music doesn't have that range anyway. I like its ease of use and varied programs.
Reviews for AudioTool
← Back to AudioToolAmazing "All in one" facilities. It looses 1 star due to a seemingly random bug which happens sometimes when I switch apps such as: full resolution graph will be missing; missing stored graph display, so have to re-display, but loses ability to display multi graphs. All can be solved after restarting the app, set dB scales will be restarted though. The menu GUI could be optimized better such it doesn't make you scroll as laborously.
Very best there is for android. I am a sound engineer and sometimes i have no time for pa tunning. With this tool i need no more then 5 min to tune all monitors and pa enouth to start a sound check. This is not magic wand. This is a tool to help your ears. Tool to help - not to fix. Fixing your sound is up to you. Have a good show.
Works well with my Galaxy S7 & S10. Add a calibrated microphone (e.g. DaytonAudio iMM-6) & you have the equivalent of units costing hundreds & avoids the volume limiter built into the phone's mic. I use it checking sound doing audio board work, especially analog boards that don't have built in RTM or sound generators to EQ the room. I monitor SPL & EQ and am very satisfied. Love the varied views including spectrum & the calibration abilities w/easy import of calibrated mic files. Best app.
Been using this on several versions of phones for some years now, with built-in & external calibrated mics. ABSOLUTELY AWESOME !! And still being upgraded all the time... Look no further, this will fill all your needs wnd keep U busy studying for a long time. CONGRATS, dear Dev.
Very powerful app at an unbelievable price. Seriously for what this app is capable of doing, people have easily paid a hundred bucks for in the past. It seemlessly pairs with a Dayton Audio imm6-c and many other popular calibrated mics. My biggest advice and the imo is one of the best things about this app, is the HELP section!! Or technically the manual!! It is the best manuals/help section I've seen in a very long time. Every single option available is explained in great detail with photos!!
I have been using this particular tool since inception. Light years ahead of any other. Highly and deadly accurate. It has everything you will need for Audio analyses. The ballistics of the display are far superior to any other audio app I have ever seen to date. I use it quite frequently. It does not crash, it is highly intuitive to use. 200 points on a scale of 1 to 200 points. I use it for A Range World Class commercial studio control rooms, analysis of space & Tuning of Big Speakers.
Many thanks for a great app. It has always worked every time for me. So many great features. The only thing I could possibly ask for is "transfer function" along the lines of SMAART etc. But I understand that is a whole other level. If you are bored and want to build a phone based 2 channel analyzer ... hint hint LOL if I trusted anyone to do a good job it'd be you :-)
I cannot find where to upload a calibration file for my microphone. This used to be a feature but appears to no longer be present. Not being able to zoom in on the bands is an inconvenience too. Also, the noise generation functions seem broken On Google Pixel 6
Great app, does exactly what it says it does. It just doesn't work with some phones. For example, xiaomi devices, because they have a high pass filter on microphone input. I had to pull an old android tablet back from retirement to make a measurement.
Excellent app. Noticed saved peak sweep files can't be transferred to a PC until after a phone reboot, after that conversion to .csv allows for analysis using REW, which adds to the value of this app. It would be great if author increased ease of collecting and sending data to REW since built in graphics are hard to use on small screens.
Excellent tool that should be in every audio enthusiasts bag of tricks. From balancing 2 subwoofers on a mono signal to testing your hearing or setting driver levels this will do the job. No it isn't the greatest thing out there but for the price it's unbeatable. Pair it with an IMM-6 calibrated microphone and you won't regret your purchase for a second.
Hello, do you think if it's possible to add smoothing feature? I've been using the app for measuring earphones but not having a smoothing feature (maybe there is one and I'm too dumb to find it). EDIT: average function does not get to level of smoothness that other apps i've known of (for example, arta/fftplot). check your email to see an example graph taken by arta.
Great tool for the money. Still have to explore and try more things. Using the Dayton imm-6 whose integration worked flawlessly. Things that are buggy is the signal generator. When trying to change sweep parameters it says invalid number and ignores the input. Maybe a font problem? Also the sweep sounds it has more than one tone.. if you start it more often it sounds if there's a superimposed second tone or harmonic generated. Using a pixel 3a. Keep up the good work!
It's not accurate at all from 30 HZ to 70 HZ or so. Reads extremely low from 30 to 60hz range compared to spectroid with same mic and position. My 30hz is almost 30 decibels less than peak bass. For speakers and earphones it is saying it has basically zero low end. High resolution set on "flat" and it's way off until around 70hz. Not my mic at all. Spectroid is more accurate and it's free. What is going on with low end reading? The low end is completely rolled off even with it in "flat"
Somewhat useful app. I loaded my own target curves from my PC so I can use the app for "ballparking" loudspeaker frequency response when I have no FIR system available. However, there is a Problem: When attempting to set dB scale, app sometimes says "invalid number" for low freq, even though the increment fits evenly (e.g. lo 48, hi 96, incr 6). Numbers are typed correctly.
This is a great app with a deep toolbox for evaluating speakers & room acoustics. My only caveat is the accuracy of the app depends on the Sound Settings of your phone. I got a big "smile" response curve when I first measured a quality speaker. I later went into my phone settings and turned off all enhancers like Atmos, and chose "flat" for other eq options. NOW the signal generator outputs a flat signal. This needs to be mentioned in the app description.
When I boot the app I get a frustratimg glitch where it asks for permission to use the microphone I grant it and then it closes down and says the app needs access to the microphone and storage. I go to the app permissions and it hasn't even asked to use storage and microphone access has been granted. Reinstalled and restarted and it still persists. This looks very useful and I hope this will be resolved soon so I can use it.
Very nice 1/12 octave display, accurate, useful app for tuning car audio system.
The eq target curve doesn't work. The selection gets stuck on the middle one and can't move it. Also, I can't move the flat curve from 60 dB to a select value (that being 30 db) that I need. I would do it manually, but it doesn't work as stated. Paying for an app and having one of its main functionalities broken isn't great. But everything else works so far. Ok, update, double tapping on left or right of screen moves it. Was not told.
