My first time of using AusweisApp but it is very good as it is userfriendly and self intuitive.

Easy to set up Ausweis. Switched from German to English.

not sure who they got for web design but so much of this does not actually work. frustrating and annoying.

It is so frustrating. I have been trying to connect my smart phone as a card reader with my Laptop. I installed the app in windows. App versions are up to date in both devices. I even made sure that I disabled "AP/ Client Isolation" in my router, though I can not find my phone on the menu "Available remote devices" in my Laptop.

Using the app on android as well as on Linux in combination with an android device. Works flawlessly in both cases, setup was simple. [update 15 June 2025:] I had a hard time finding the Linux version of the app for download. In fact, it wasn't even mentioned on your website. It should be proudly advertised! Please make it more visible!

Very difficult to setup and pair then doesn't work on laptop. Very strange way to pair. I gave up a few years ago and close to giving up again in 2024. Now managed to get my own name and address only! No idea where the pension data is hiding or the other data. I seriously wonder whether it is good to have access to such data on a mobile phone as an expert could steal all your data.

Pairing with computer is working. Reading an ID card doesn't. I placed it in various ways, under and over the phone, tried to match the chip and the NFC terminal with no success. No helpful related topics can be in their online documentation. Now I personally do not think this app should be entrusted with the online identification routines.

By identifying it does not allow to go back to Agentur website and creates an error log. I have already a Bund ID account.

It actually used to work in the past. Now, it gives a weak NFC signal message and can't read my eAT. Regardless of how I rotate my card around the back of the casless phone. And this is the very same Samsung Galaxy S21 5G phone it used to work on before! The problem persists upon updating to the latest version. Strangely, the signal was strong enough that it blocked my card PIN but too weak to renable it using the PUK! Now, I have to wait 3 months for an appointment to have this sorted!

Fairly useless, expected an alternative to carrying my id with me. Sad that it can't be used like that and for example in combination with DB navigator for train tickets

Terrible experience! I have already invested 1 hour of my time trying to pair the app with the desktop without success! Frustrating!

NFC readout is PAINFULLY slow butay be hardware issue, guess the cards are cheap trash. Also multiple readouts for a single request is just ridiculous... At least UI/UX are good.

Unacceptable, I have an European eid, and the app does not accept the card. The app clearly states European eid as an option, and still nothing. Wrt the comment below, I am an EU citizen, with an eid and the app sais I cannot use it.

Not user-friendly for non-technical people. Support is not helpful. I was told by support that I needed to allow the app on my firewall, and that: "we only provide support for the AusweisApp, and we cannot offer you comprehensive support in configuring your end devices or your network." I added the exception, but that is not enough. We must create specific inbound and outbound rules on Advanced Security. I found that on their documentation, without the support assistance.

I guess the average score speaks for itself and it should be a matter of concern. The idea is great and promisingt, but the troubleshooting is frustrating. I followed all the instructions carefully and can even see my data on the smartphone app and change my pin. But after pairing with the PC app and trying it out online, it doesn't work and gives out the worst error-notification you can get on any application: "Error, please contact support" This is the same as not saying anything at all.

I tried pairing it to my laptop (Acer) over an hour...no success. All I could do was uninstall and install again and it automatically offer to repair it (which didn't know it needed). The app on the phone seems to work though but it blocked my card which worries me a lot now. I see it happened to others, I wish I had read the reviews before... Please don't release the app until it works very very well or at least warn about the blocking feature. It's very important to us. Thank you!

The self test works. I haven't managed to get this app to work for anything else. 4 out of 5 times the "authenticate with eID" button doesn't do anything and I have to restart the app and the browser to get things working again. When the app actually reacts, it either fails with a technical yet uselessly generic server error, or it seemingly succeeds, but the web page says "Incorrect username or password supplied, please try again". This thing is a mess.

It doesn't work. My ID card can't be found with NFC, no matter how long or how often I try! This app doesn't work at all. and even if i manage to I tap in my PIN and my data is not saved. I have to connect it with NFC every time so that my data is displayed. directly deleted.not recommended.

Really the worst possible system a government could make to let me get official stuff... There's 100 ways to log in and half don't work at all (but let you waste an hour before telling you) and the other half asks you to use some additional verification that is part of the first half. Nothing works but they make you panic for not seeing messages in your inbox that they don't let you into instead of just sending me an email. Thanks for nothing.

Like many others, I encountered an endless loop. Followed the instructions per the video. It never worked. I contacted support, they said the card was defective. I bought a new card... Now I am concerned if I do this again it will ruin the new card that I paid for... When will you acknowledge that something is wrong with the app in relation to the ausweis? How much evidence is required?
