2019 - I've only had this for a short time, but so far it's done everything it says it's going to do! The only reason for 4-stars instead of 5 is because it hasn't actually sent anything yet because of time. But it was easy to set up, easy to compose, and easy to schedule the time to send! I will change to 5-stars once I know the text has gone out! A couple yrs later and still going strong....would HIGHLY recommend to anyone, newcomers or more!
Reviews for Auto Text - Schedule Messages
← Back to Auto Text - Schedule MessagesIt's a really useful and straight to the point app. The most important feature I use is the SMS scheduler, mostly to automate sending important work-related messages that I can't send immediately because of the late hour but can't afford to forget in the morning. It has a ton of other integrations, but I've barely messed with those, it's great for its SMS feature alone though.
Absolutely LOVE this app! I work for myself as a personal trainer so I use this to set personal goal reminders to clients such as to reach their water intake for the day, or if they got their workout done, etc. I also use it to set up soccer games so I use their group feature where I have all those contacts grouped, send out the simple message, and I go about my day. This app is a lifesaver. Only wish it had a bit more of a friendly aesthetic to it. I suggest paying for the for the premium!
I love the app but disappointed when I bought the premium. I was trying to send multiple messages as a text message. (Group messaging) it popped up saying I had to buy the premium if more than 3 recepients. I bought it and it sent out to over 10 people. However, it sent out not as a group message but to each individual. I wanted to send as a group so all could see each others reply. I could not find a setting. If this is the case, it was a waste of money for me. Only helpful for ind. Messages.
Very happy with this app. Love being able to schedule one or multiple texts minutes, hours, and days ahead of time. My old phone used to be able to do that, but my new phone doesn't have that feature. The ads are the only drawback. But it's worth the convenience of wanting to text somebody before I want them to get it, send it and not worry that it's at an unreasonable hour or forgetting to send it later. And I like being notified when the text has gone out.
The timeframe option (it allows you to set two times, it'll send texts in-between that time which makes it seem more natural), used to be a free option. What's up with suddenly turning it into a premium feature without warning? Review changes to five stars, reason being I had been emailed a redeem code for the app and got it upgraded. Personally I wasn't expecting that. Other than that, the app does its job, and does it well. That and...no more ads.
I used DIL as the free version for about a month before purchasing the full version and it's exceptional. I use it daily. I would LOVE to see Pictures attached to text messages and Templates for reminders Please add!! Edited from new version: I hate the fact that I can no longer schedule something sooner than 5 minutes out!! Change it back!!
I downloaded this app specifically for the purpose of sending the same message out daily at a random time. The app indicates this is possible and allows me to set up the timeframe and frequency, however these messages are NOT being sent at random times. I have the timeframe set between 730-1130 and have been testing it for a week; every day the message goes out at 730. It's as if I've set a specific daily time. Activating "Request Permission" feature will allow me to snooze and send later.
This app has the features that I need, and I rely on using it. I like that it archives the sent messages. However, often, when I attempt a search for a previously sent SMS, the search feature doesn't function. Further, periodically, some SMS recipients do not receive messages even when status shows "completed." I often have to resend via another application. I have my phone service through one of the major carriers, so I don't know where the disconnect is happening.
Being able to send SMS messages on a timer has been critical! I use it to remind my kids about appointments, or to get things done around the house. I set it in the morning, and forget it. Because the kids are on different types of phones (Android/iPhone) I NEED SMS TO STAY! This app wouldn't be nearly as useful if it could not send SMS messages! Super simple. Very clean design. Love the time-picker. Instead of the scroll wheels that take forever to find the number, just tap the time on the clock! Well worth getting rid of the ads. One thing that would be cool, is having a template. If I have 6 types of messages I send over and over, it would be nice to pre-set times, messages, recipients, etc.
Terrible change in the app: New update maklde it so you can't even set scheduled repeats for a message other than simple increments. That means if you need more frequent repeats than hourly, it's worthless. I'm not paying $65 for that, especially since it used to be free. There is no reason to charge anything at all, seeing as they have ad monitization. I'm already looking for another app, and will update this review once I find one.
If you are a night owl when your contacts aren't, and you need an app that delays your message until they'll be awake, then this is the app for you. Mind you the app does have ads (they're there but they're pretty well avoidable), and it's too bare-bones of an app to create a group chat (as it will send individual messages to each contact), but if you are wanting to use this app for individual use like me it'll work perfectly!
I really love the simplicity of the app and it works very well, but as another reviewer said, the most recent update deleted all the reminders I had set through the end of the year. I use the app to remind myself of upcoming weddings and events that I have been hired to DJ for, so you can imagine my disappointment when I lost all of the reminders for everything I had scheduled for the rest of the year. Luckily I keep backups of my schedule so it wasn't a total loss, just a huge disappointment.
I use this ONLY for the reminders. This thing has saved my a$$ more times than I can count. Been using it for years. It gives you a lot of flexible times for the reminder pop ups, you can snooze them infinitely and for different amounts of time, and look at all your past reminders too. I forget everything, so as soon as I know I need to do something, I type it down here and I'm good! Laundry, cooking, cleaning, remembering appointments... Better and more simple than the calender app on the phone
WHAT IS GOING ON?? NEW UPGRADE TO PRO NOT WORKING. I was using Auto Text. It worked terrific...when it was free. Then we had to pay for a subscription, so I paid for Lifetime. Now, the upgraded app does not work properly. For instance, I have 4 very different but important meetings next week. I remind myself with a Fake Call. I type who I meeting with and schedule call date and time. Then I save it. When it populates, all the data is blank!! This is a brand new problem. Please fix right away.
I used this app for a few years, and it worked fine, but somehow, in changing phones, I dropped it. I've reinstalled it, but NOW they want a $39.99 ANNUAL fee! (Most Android apps have a free version, with a "pro" option for just a few dollars ONE TIME (to get rid of ads, etc.)) I'm usually willing to pay a few bucks for the pro version of a decent app, and maybe even a little more if I choose to receive an upgrade - but not an endless, recurring fee for a product I receive once.
*The app started out working great. when you upgrade it, it doesn't work properly. It may just be a coincidence, but it really did stop working the way that it should once I upgraded & paid for the year. Where the biggest issue is, you can't contact the developer. There is not any type of support. You can email them through the app, no response. You come here, email the address they have here. says it can't be delivered because their inbox is too full. You can contact through WhatsApp. Don’t hav
I purchased the lifetime, have sent several SMS, shows sent but in reality only the 1st one was sent all others failed. I love this concept and hope it gets better. Also there isn't an option for help/assistance or frequently asked questions or troubleshooting. The purpose of the app is to send a mass message and not have to do them individually
Question please. Why am I being offered a very expensive pro version of the app without ANY explanation as to what that will do? What are you getting ready to take away from us in the regular version, or is this a pro version already? Please explain. The app is generally very good. I feel like they keep changing the look with every few versions which often causes problems. It makes using the app more difficult because you can't find what you're used to using, or it doesn't work the same.
Failed when needed. This is the second time I've tried this app. It worked perfect for the tests but the moment I left for my vacation, it failed to send the auto response. This left me with a lot of confused and angry customers. Most of my customers text, they don't do social media or call to hear the voicemail. Definitely wouldn't pay real money for an app that can't even perform it's free settings properly.
