Well, my issue is with down loading these 3 apps. onto my laptop, your offer for 7 days free security no problem. However I've paid a year, for all 3, only can't put on my new computer, so I was then to uninstall that app. In addition however, I did have the access code to enter into, if was the same apps.as before. Am I correct in assuming. Please tell me. Have not heard a word back. But like your apps.not what I have seen on the website.
Reviews for Avast SecureLine VPN & Privacy
← Back to Avast SecureLine VPN & PrivacyGreat initial experience, every day, more and more common websites will not load or work with the VPN active. The auto connect feature no longer works . Overall huge waste of money and time. I went with this one due to using their anti-virus software. I should have looked at other options. The anti virus and other software available from avast have also started showing bugs and having issues. Overall I would stay away from a once great but now deteriorating company/offering.
I have used secure line for years, and that is why the 4 stars. They have been fantastic, however recently I find myself having to pause my VPN more and more as my connections to sites and apps has been very spotty. It has gotten to the point that I'm considering switching, but I am hoping that their hard work and dedication will fix this issue soon.
Though it connects quickly, and is generally easy to navigate, the secureline keeps popping up and trying to connect, or even automatically connecting. I made sure the app settings were not to auto connect and still had this problem. At first it just gave me a notification whenever I went online asking if I wanted to use the secureline, after I changed my settings that stopped. However, then it started just connecting automatically even when I had no apps open and wasn't using any internet.
Editing old comment about the disconnections, the secure line has come a long way and I haven't noticed any disconnections for a long time now. A feature I hope they add in the future is the ability to see live data of which apps are sending/receiving data, and how much. This would be useful when trying to find apps thatre using background data even when closed in foreground and background.
I purchased the Avast Ultimate Bundle which supposedly includes SecureLine VPN on 10 devices, but when I use the mobile app, annoying ads for games keep poping up, & there's no way to stop the ads. I've already paid for the apps, & the Avast mobile apps also trys to charge me again. I'd so rather watch a progress bar, than have a loud obnoxious add that won't let me skip or cancel out of. Please change that for paid users! Thank you!
This use to be a good app/vpn. Now it tries to auto connect even if you have auto connect turned off and if you have it turned on any of the rules you can set don't work. Don't want it connect on cellular, too bad. Don't want it to connect on home/saved networks, too bad. Want to be able to diconnect from the swipe down menu with out having to open the app and do it from there, too bad there too. I won't be renewing. After this one ends I'm done with the annoying 'features' of this app.
Annoying to get popups to write reviews everytime i open app. hopefully this stops them from coming up. if i want to write a review i will. stop trying to force it. In response to the reply i got. No, it pops up on mine every few days, to every other day. I know how to contact support for giving feedback. Please stop, it is the customers choice to give feedback and reviews, it should not be forced upon them.
Spent money to make this work on my phone, I figured because I like the one for my computer that I should just do this too, but it's constantly having errors and keeping from connecting to anything at all. I'm so annoyed that for now I am uninstalling this until I see some improvments Update: obviously it's been some time. This program runs much better on my phone now, I only have to disconnect when it comes to Netflix or another streaming platform. Updated to 5 stars.
I like the app, but most of the time it doesn't connect, even when I try manually. After I uninstall, then install again, I can connect manually. I'm thinking about switching to a different VPN app. Many are free, and with the Avast app often leaving my personal data vulnerable, it's almost like I'm paying for the chance to get hacked.
I've used Avast on my computer and cellphone for a long time now, my only issue with them is they eat up the RAM on any device they run on... which if you have a device that doesn't have a minimum of 6GB of RAM it will run slow... On the cellphone they have too many apps to choose from, some of which are basically the same thing with different features, they need to just make an all in one app that does everything for one low price instead of having everything individually priced.
I'm a paid user and I've been using Avast for a few years. My subscription is up for renewal next month. I'm considering dropping the service due to it being a major drain on my phone's battery. Many times I can't connect to websites. I have to disconnect in order to access websites leaving me vulnerable with no protection. For me, the subscription price is expensive and I expect better for the money & would like everything included with it instead of at a separate price.
love the service, it's great, but I bought the multi device license. it says good for 5 devices, yet it was very difficult to get it to work on any device other than the one I used for transaction. Even after transferring the license manually, everytime I started it from a notification, or didnt have it on auto on wifi on it would pop up with an error connect due to no license. if not for that it would have been 5 starts.
This app is horrible. It cuts off all abilities to send emails from your phone, hinders most of my other apps and allows zero accessibility to websites. To use my phone for anything, I have to turn it off. Pointless! And that's even the case in my own home wifi. Extremely annoying, not to mention some important messages were delayed until I noticed they weren't sent due to this so called security.
So far it seems effective, though I noticed that attempting to connect to a public Wi-Fi network, it did not want to connect at all. It just sat spinning for several minutes saying "Connecting..." That's not promising. I've had several clear incursions and other foibles occur on my devices. Would someone from Avast contact me and help me find a solution? I don't feel my mobile privacy is respected at all, and my devices are incredibly vulnerable. HELP PLEASE!!!!
Awesome software! Tons of very useful features, excellent customer support, and definitely the best buy for your money! Even the free version has relatively few adds and tons of useful features. The interface is as seamless and unobtrusive as you want it to be, and it is easy to use/set up. It is "lightweight" and doesn't slow down your device at all. And it takes up very little memory, both RAM and ROM. I highly recommend this app!!! I would even work for them! 😉
It's okay, there are a lot of severs to choose from and its very easy to use. The biggest issue is the extremely slow speed dropping down to litteral 20 bytes of data a second. I have a plan purchased and it doesn't change much. The VPN will also randomly bug out sometimes and disconnect and say "connecting..." until I reset the app. Otherwise it works when it works, but will bug out and be slow randomly.
I hate this browser so much like other Avast products. Suppose to be free and after trying to use it for like 2 weeks, I am uninstalling it for good. It works for one day then will not allow you to connect with websites. I have uninstalled and reinstalled so many times I have lost count. Just not worth the effort. Will not allow you to sync desktop to phone without upgrading. Every single service you have to pay for. Why not have everything in one package along with a payment? You are greedy.
I thought this was a free VPN that avast offers. I love both the security and the mobile cleanup apps, and have had them forever. I was disappointed to see that I had to pay for a subscription for the VPN. I immediately uninstalled it, so therefore have ZERO experience with it. If you'd offer a free version, it's likely that I'd eventually subscribe, like I've done with the other two apps, but I refuse to subscribe without first getting to experience it.
Used to a good app but since the last updates it just keeps disconnecting and I have to reconnect it every time my phone or tablet are shutdown or go to sleep and it's the same with my laptop computer, don't think I'll be renewing it when my contract is up. Also won't connect to sites within the UK as they say I am outside the UK but my VPN is set to London or Glasgow which is in the UK.
