requires Bluetooth to stay on and the app to run in the background. still fails regularly and requires opening the app and pressing the unlock button. worse than key fobs and my phone is less secure for it

while it works well with Android phones, it doesn't offer an Android smartwatch compatible app (it does have an apple watch version though)

Hate it. I can't forget to bring an elevator button. Also badly misaligned, can't read access points and most of the readers don't work. Also, bloated. Why is it 175 Mb?

The level of privacy invasion required for this app to function is absurd. My favorite feature is that it continues running in the background until you force close it. I know for a fact that it's still running/tracking my location, because the swipe unlock still works if it's not force closed.

terrible I wouldn't even think about recommended anyone to get this system installed. I have all access in an office block. but can't gain access anyway. it never works when you need it and to get it to work i have to rest everything then it will work for 10 mins while it kill you phone battery in about 3 hours with a band new phone. even the key card don't work all in all don't download cos it will never work properly

EDIT: the 'Open' system has improved markedly over the last year; it's far more reliable that it used to be. Still kinda clunky compared to NFC/RFID fobs. I was using the widget function on a Pixel, which was handy. For some reason the app shows no widgets on Samsung OneUI 7.

absolute garbage. getting all sorts of battery consumption warnings from the phone about the app. for the love of God give us our clicker remotes back, with the acception of changing the battery once a year, they just worked. when the app doesn't work just ram the gate with your car.

When it works, it's great. But, it allows it's User-approved special settings to be changed. Worse, without notifying the User. Suddenly, you're standing in the Cold Rain fumbling. This morning it wasn't working again w/o warning. After searching & searching, I finally zeroed in on Cause. The company had been Sold ... And without notice, some CLODnik had updated the App overnight with a new name and App button color! Some real Thinking went into that! #Unbelievable

Horrible "solution" for a simple problem. Unfortunately, it is chosen by my apartment building to enter the parking garage. Cell phone signal is weak where they installed the reciever and I'm assuming No Bluetooth component was installed there. Tried everything, including multiple devices, operating systems, and cell phone carriers but nothing works. I contacted technical support multiple times myself and through the apartment office, but was only given general solutions that I already tried.

We were told using the phone would make building entry hands free, just walk up to the door and it opens, as long as you let the app track your location and left the app open. It didn't. You still had to enter the app and tap on which door you wanted to open (when it found your door which it sometimes doesn't) or put your phone up to the fob reader, same as a fob.

Requires Bluetooth to connect to door sensor, but tremendous drain on battery. Solution is to turn off Bluetooth and turn it back on only when you need to unlock door, but now you can't use your Bluetooth phone accessories. If you quit the app, it just sends the app to background while it continues to drain your battery. You have to force quit after navigating multiple Android system menus. Facepalm.

I am forced to use this app to enter the office. At least you could make it so it doesn't kill my battery by constantly running in background and using location non stop. After blocking location and turning off the service in the background, at least the battery drain is less. Your privacy policy doesn't even mention why you need location permission in the first place. I don't need to give my headphones permission to my location yet they work fine over Bluetooth.

Edit: I appreciate the response from dev. It is still a bit frustrating bc there's a warning that says "fix permissions" as if something is broken, that results in constant access. Had to disable all warnings, not just that one. This app does not give you an option to run only when open. Once you install this app, the only way to stop it is by forcing it to stop in your system settings otherwise it is permanently in your currently running apps list. I've never seen an app like that before.

If you are a landlord thinking of using this: don't do it. You have to let it run constantly in the background, location always has to be on, mobile data has to be on, and bluetooth has to on, at all times. No one wants their house key to be in their phone and constantly draining battery. -Hi, responding to your reply. I DO have to have it on at all times. The "walk up unlock" feature has never worked. Pushing the buttons on the door DOES NOT WORK. I have to open the app EVERY TIME to use it.

Edit: Removed comment about push notifications. There is still the issue of having to force close even after turning location permissions to only allow access while using the app. It just won't stop running... I've gone into the app's and my phone's permissions (as well as the extremely minimal in-app settings page, which has basically nothing), and there's nothing Bluetooth related to adjust, either? Guess I'll just continue force stopping it for now...

7/2022: I don't like that I can't set a work schedule. It's always running. If I don't use it for half an hour I need to open the app again to unlock doors, and that can take several seconds. If someone else needs to pass through the same door it's very awkward to step aside and let them unlock the door for me, especially if they are security minded. Update 9/2025: I guess the proposed update was declined. The app regularly requests users to rate 5 stars. I won't.

I and several others are seriously debating canceling our gym memberships almost entirely due to this app/system. I work out primarily during unstaffed hours, and I have been denied access 3 times at 2 different locations. Also, at least 3 times a night, I will watch someone else having the exact same issue at the door. Issue seems to be random, and It's not just on Android devices. As soon as I am able to get a key fob or I have canceled my membership, I will be uninstalling this app.

Where to start? The proximity sensors will sometimes open a door for you even if you do not have your phone on you. No record of the access in the logs. Other times, it will let you tailgate using someone in another room. About 50% of hand swipes fail, and you have to pull up the app to open a door. Sometimes even that fails and you have to cycle Bluetooth on the phone. Mind you that this is not a case where the rights are not set properly. Not happy at all.

The only thing this app is good at is keeping its users from gaining entry. It very rarely works and is wholly ineffective. Anyone thinking of using openpath should move right along. This app really does not work well, and sometimes, I find myself being stuck outside for several minutes because the app won't work. For something that is supposed to provide safety, it makes me feel less safe, as I am stuck outside for extended periods of time.

This is a very disappointing app. Unfortunately, my apartment building makes this app the only way to get into certain doors. The app is running all the time and logs me out constantly, so I have to sign in again and again. Plus if your phone dies, not only can't you call anyone, you can't get into your building. This is a classic example of technology making life harder.
