The app needs a way to recognize when the same item is added more than once on the registry, as well as offer sorting items from low price to high price. When trying to go through, the app kept refreshing and was frustrating. The app could use some updates. Also, not everyone purchases the items online. Some buy in store but use the registry as a guide. Doesn't help when there's no option to say an item was purchased in store.
Reviews for Babylist Baby Registry
← Back to Babylist Baby RegistryToo expensive, not user friendly, has hidden fees. Everything on this app's store can be found for way less on Amazon. They advertise free cards which you will be charged for upon arrival. The baby box is free and they tell you about shipping, but the cards came and I had to pay for them. I asked for my money back and now have a credit to my account which I cannot apply to the baby box, I have to buy something even more expensive from their store. It doesn't make sense. Stick to Amazon.
It may be a good site to register, but don't register small items. It's set up for them to make their money on larger items. If someone wants to buy a bunch of small items, Registering it as "purchased" is awful. For every item you buy, you have to go through a 5-step process to mark it off as purchased. This definitely discourages people to buy a bunch of low cost items on the list so you might was well not even list them.
Do NOT use Babylist for a registry. They only do "free returns" if the box is unopened. They delay shipments for WEEKS and don't give you an update. Completion discount didn't apply to an item that was eligible for the discount on Amazon. We had people donate to a fund on Babylist and I wish we hadn't, now we can't get anything because they're going through a "warehouse move" and can't predict when they can ship anything out.
This registry is great. One stop shop! I love that when you add an item it shows stores and prices where the item can be found. So much good stuff on here! Edit: not sure why but its like once a week or once every other week there is an update for the app through the app. Im confused on why we have to continue to update the app so much. I dropped it one star because of this.
Love that you can put different stores on here and that there are so many different items to pick from. It would just be nice if more stores were added and if there was a general notification when an item wasn't available. I tried reserving several things for a friend only to find out they were all out of stock and it was a bit of a pain. Other than that this app is wonderful!
It's a nice app, the only app-specific thing I don't like is that I can't read articles or see the sample registries unless I'm on the desktop version. I wish I wasn't required to have a quantity for certain things (such as baby wipes), and I wish I could use PayPal instead of an account and routing number for the diaper fund. Both of those have more to do with the company itself than the app though.
I am obsessed with this app! Downloaded it wayyyyy early in my pregnancy because I wanted to start working on my registry, and I'm so thankful I did! I love that everything is in one place and displays the prices from each different store. I've been able to easily adjust, add, and remove items. Just a suggestion: it would be nice if I could hide or remove articles or photos in my "feed" that I don't like or need. But no real complaints!
You can literally add stuff from ANY website. Walmart, wish, target, Amazon, etc. It is not just strictly for online stores. They allow people to be able to group together to contribute to a high priced item or they can separately buy the item in full. They also don't share your address with the person purchasing the item for you, but they do tell you who sent what, so you can send Thank You cards. They allow an option to have people send second-hand clothes to you as well, instead of spending money and many other amazing options. Best app ever.
I wish I never used this app/website. Baby shower guests complained how difficult it was to use. When they walked into the target, my registry didn't exist. Also, the registry does not sync with amazon (or Target or others). Exchanges and returns have been nearly impossible because Target, Amazon and any other retailer doesn't even know that this item was purchased for me. Can't talk to anybody on the phone so their support is not good either. Better off just registering with individual stores.
I had tried setting up registries on different sites and tried finding the easiest way to showcase what we needed/wanted, where it was available, price, everything, but that proved surprisingly difficult until I came across babylist! I could kind of rank things, label the most essential must have items, and what I love best is it shows you where you can buy and how much it costs. Instant comparison. So easy for family and friends so they can knock it out quickly! Such a blessing!
I love this app! Everything is all in one place and it is so convenient to go to from shopping whichever store you want to registry - all in one app. You can organize your registry into multiple categories, and it is a very smooth experience! I like that you can customize it and leave notes for friends and family, and also mark things as "must need." Sometimes, there is a slight lag, but it's not a problem to just reboot the app and it's good to go! Definitely a must have!
Love how unique it is. And the option to choose where to purchase from. But I wish I could edit things that people marked reserved or purchased. Also wish there were more batch options. And possibly do away with the reserve option. Either they buy it or don't. It was frustrating that people were "reserving" things but not purchasing. Then leaving it reserved for weeks just to change their minds. Someone else couldve bought those items. And many times it was thing we really wanted or needed.
Found this app and love it. Not going to lie, it was a little intimidating in the beginning, but once you get the hang of it? Simple! love how the app also compares pricing from other companies. Only thing I would like would be to add an option to 'turn on / off' viewing who purchased the gift. I know the gift giver has the option to choose, but sometimes they might not know how, or see it, or not even know that we can see it. I would like to be surprised with their gifts when opening. 😔
Edited to add--This app is a waste of time, they won't allow us to hide our shipping address! I don't want people having the address! now I'm gonna have to create a bunch of registries right before invitations are sent out! plus it's no free baby box, ONLY if you purchase something through their site.-- the idea of this is cute, my husband got it. I hate that I had to download another app and it wouldn't let me use the site, or give me the option for a site. Terrible business practices.
I have used this app extensively in the past for my own and friends registries and loved it! but for some reason over the last week, it has been completely unusable. It appears to just be loading, but it never actually finishes. I've tried updating the app, I've tried uninstalling and re-installing it, and now it won't even allow me to log in, it just shows that it's "loading" after i put in my password indefinitely. I can log in on a web browser, but not the app.
I think having all items in one spot with the options of organizing the lists is amazing! My only complaint is not being able to add things to ONE cart. Its annoying to have to go to the store of the item you want, have nothing actually transfer or fill in, purchase, and then go back to the app and fill out the details that you've purchased. It's a great app, but please make it all one location.
This made it so easy as an overwhelmed, first-time mom to make my registry. the checklist was very helpful and it's great that I can add items from any website. the only downside is that it doesn't let you add items that aren't specifically from one certain store or online listing. for example, if I just want people to buy some onesies, I can't just write that in, I have to link specific onesies from a site. hope that makes sense.
This app has made the whole registry process SO much simpler and less overwhelming. I use the What to Expect app, and it was not intuitive for me to try juggling multiple registries from different retailers. Getting the Babylist app really streamlined the process, since you can browse any retailer's products within the app and add all of them to a single registry. The guides within the app have also been extremely helpful for narrowing my search among the hundreds of options per type of product.
I built my registry, made a purchase, and got a free box that was amazing! The purchase was glass bottles, and they were broken in shipping. They returned the purchase without requiring me to send it back or asking for proof. Going to make more purchases now with the assurance that: if something goes wrong, they'll be there, and if it doesn't, it'll definitely be amazing products!
