Reviews for Back Seat Navigator

← Back to Back Seat Navigator

Dislike the interface. For example it does not show full screen properly and you have to add a location to your list instead of just searching for a destination and start driving. Searching also uses up a token as only 9 free "drives" are allowed in the free version. Uninstalled it straight away.

Location of starting point is wrong. On my route to work takes or instructs me 10 block to the west of actual address. Every address is wrong . How can it be a nav app if it gets you lost. But at least it loaded all other apps from this developer just goes to a blue screen. Very disheartening. I wanted to like these apps. Either fix en or remove them

Haven't got to use this in real time yet but did test it out a bit to hear the different voices and see how bad the insults are. I think my favorite is the UK voice. I did notice that sometimes I had to put in the directions twice before the voice came on but other than that it's great. I can't wait to use this next time I'm in the car with my mom and we need directions. Might use it even when we know where we're going just to see her reaction!

Pathetic. Well I downloaded it to use it but it doesn't tell you until after installation and seeing only a blue screen that you need to keep your phone location setting on "high accuracy" in order to use the app, and I DON'T ever want anyone to know exactly where I am so I'll NEVER set it to anything but "phone." Waze & Google maps work well regardless as long as location is turned on. I don't even know how accurate this app is.

Freaking awesome!!! This is a great app so far. Simply because it's funny. I've always panicked while getting lost. Now I'm so busy laughing that it actually makes finding my way easier, probably because my fight or flight has yet to kick in. Fear can be very distracting. While laughter seems to make things simple and smooth. I certainly hope it doesn't have to many bugs or issues. Oh and next best is that should you choose to pay for it, it's hella cheap!!!

If you have somewhere important to be, you probably want to use a 'real' navigation app. But if you have time on your hands and know where you're going, this app will have you in stitches! I go the wrong way on purpose - just to hear it throw a fit! I look forward to seeing it evolve, and maybe someday become my go-to nav app. Love it!!

Downloaded and keep trying to navigate but the app keeps force closing after the first few words are spoken and claims to have a bug but the "free navigations remaining" count keeps decreasing so that's super fun. Really thought this would be a fun app but it's terribly designed. I can't close the app from my top menu either so I have to go into my apps to force close. Ridiculous.

The developers should get in trouble. App says you have the option to use standard features for free or the option to make a one time purchase of the app. Well on iPhone it does allow you to use standard features without paying. However on android as soon as you open it you are forced into a paywall of a monthly or yearly subscription to use app at all. It doesn't even have the one time buy app option. the developers should have this app removed for scamming android users but not iPhone.

Why subscription? I was telling people how funny this app is, except some voices are a little robotic, and now I find it's a subscription service only. You don't even offer a free version. With the costs of living, there is no way I'm paying for an average based app. It's a shame, really

a few minor glitches, but damn if it isn't funny as hell! Couldn't find an address or 2, and doesn't always pick the best routes, but it's still a pretty solid nav app. Even Google has problems with some addresses out here. One thing I would like to see added is state abbreviations. Instead of saying "co" 92, saying "Colorado 92". Just a personal thing. Other than that a great app. I'm a delivery driver and know most of my stops, but I'm using the GPS anyway just to hear the insults!

I love this app and have used it exclusively for months, and got the paid version. It's extremely funny. I reached out to the developer once with a problem and he replied same day, and had a fix for the bug I'd found extremely quickly. My only critique currently is that it's not very good at getting me to the right building in a multibuilding complex or a shopping plaza. That may be a problem with the service they use to get map data tho. Otherwise I'd give 5 stars!

I love wTForecast, so I was really looking forward to this. Tried it out on my drive home today. Within 3 minutes of entering my address, the play store suddenly opened 3 windows for different apps. The onslaught of ads was bad enough, but to have them pop up while driving is just flat out dangerous and irresponsible. I still love WTForecast, but I'm uninstalling this. Absolutely awful.

I used to use this app for years so decided to reinstall it after telling a coworker about it and missing the experience. Only to discover it's now behind a pay wall. Seriously? Gonna uninstall and go back to Google Maps. Y'all really dropped the ball with this. How long before WTForecast is the same? Smh.

NO FREE OPTION you either pay $4 per month or $30 a year. there's no free option. wish I would have known before downloading.

Love it, but lack of Android Auto/Car Play functionality prevents me from using it regularly. I would happily subscribe if this was addressed. 3 years later and still no Android Auto.

Been using this for about 5 years. I used to love this app, but hadn't used it in a while because of some issues it was having. I pulled it up today to see if it was dependable, only to find it's now subscription only. If you need to move to a subscription based app, fine. But, please have a limited free version, free trial, or something similar so we can see if it's something worth paying for. Since I have no way to know if it's worth paying for or not I'm forced to uninstall, sadly.

This app is hilarious! I would give it 5 stars, but every once in a while it has 2 voices yelling at you & that is annoying. I purposely set it to an Australian accent, for now and once in a while the American accent can be heard in the background. Also, it does tend to send you a little out of the way, but that happens often where I live. Going the wrong way, which I have been doing on purpose makes her really angry and it makes it that much better. Fix the 2 issues and I would give you 5 stars

One of my favorite apps. I just wish it will keep me off of toll roads when I have "avoid tolls" selected, since it usually recalculates and tries putting me on them. Also, most highway exit directions just say "take the exit" or "take the ramp". If those were addressed, I'd use it a lot more Edit: thanks for addressing the issue I had with it. It's getting more and more useful to me now.

Like the sarcasm, but lost me with "free drives" I enjoyed wtforecast and was ok with the ads. I caught an ad for this in that app and was like cool. Grabbed it and tried it with a route I know well to see how it responded to things like missed turns, etc and liked the responses. Didn't like it used mapbox but whatever. When I reached my destination, I stopped navigation and saw 9 remaining free drives. Lost me right there. I'd rather the ads instead of pay wall.

If the zoom got down closer, this app would have everything I really need in a map program, especially the voice turn-by-turn directions that hurl obscenities and vulgar insults at me while I drive (optional) - I laugh so hard at how creative some of them are, it keeps me from road-raging. I even use it for trips where I know where I'm going so I can laugh the whole way there. It's great; so freakin' hilarious!
