I’ve been using BackCountry Navigator XE: Topo for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you download and use offline topo maps on your phone. Pretty solid if you’re into hiking, camping, or just exploring the great outdoors.
Here’s what you can do – you can download maps for different regions, then use your phone’s GPS to navigate, track your routes, and mark waypoints. And there’s also cool features like slope shading and USFS maps if you get a higher membership. Took me a little while to figure it all out, but it’s pretty user-friendly overall.
Look, if you spend a lot of time in the backcountry, you’ll probably dig this app. It’s not perfect – the maps can be a bit outdated and the memberships get pricey. But overall it does the job and is worth checking out.
