Reviews for BAND - App for all groups

Users in your group can change their comments, posts, etc in the app without a trace of history that it was changed and what the previous one was. This encourages dishonesty and claim "I didn't say it, I didn't post it!" to avoid getting blamed for a mistaken information and avoid responsibility for it. This app is being used professionally too. So I suggest transparency and record holding of activity history is part of this app and make people responsible for whatever they post in it.

I have been trying to add my email to my account for 2 days and it WILL NOT send me the verification code even though its my exact email and this is stupid. Ive never had this happen before and this is straight up broken.

buggy, can't even put up my profile picture without the prompt reappearing and image not saving to server.

Overall a decent app for keeping up with my kid's band events, but I really wish there was a way to copy embedded URLs in posts (not just the "band" post URL), and that there was an option to open links in an external app (e.g. the user-selected default browser instead of always using the in-app Chrome browser)

I personally think that this app is very helpful. I am in many extracurriculars and so this helps me keep track of them all. I also like how you can make group chats within the app so you can just choose a few people to make a group chat with. 5 stars!! 👍👍👍

It's absurd to make such a huge change like suddenly deleting all your old chats for a community/ chat app. The whole purpose of this app for me is to be able to join zoom meetings for a community, but when you deleted the old messages without warning, you deleted my access to my zoom link... wow. great product design guys.

I didn't find the various areas, bands, notifications etc intuitive. there is a lot vying for attention when you are only in one group. it feels overly layered. the designers should consider a simplified mode for users of only one band, where it's closer to a single group on something like WhatsApp. despite the added features I'm sure Band has, I don't require them

It's the best! I really like it and how everything is set up, one thing I would ask is that they will allow me to remove my number without having to replace it with another. And depending on what phone/device you have, I should still see pictures pfps and videos that are posted on band without problems. It also needs some better updates. Other then that, it's a really good app.

When I first started using the BAND app, I was looking for an app that would allow me to communicate with my Girl Scout Troop effectively. I wanted to stop sending group texts which often times didn't get sent to all the members. Plus, I couldn't tell who received the text or who read the text. The BAND app saves me time in that I can post one message to the troop, I can see who has read it, and then know who to follow up with when the deadline approaches. I love the app because I can keep our troop calendar in it and all the parents can access it. Adding events is easy and I can see which parent has signed up. I can add pictures of our events and keep them private to the troop. I can also create a snack sign up sheet. I'm still learning a lot about the BAND app but I can honestly say that I love it. It has made my job as a girl scout leader so much easier. Our troop communication is so much better now.

Read the app description and wow, such a cool idea! Read the reviews, nah, that won't happen to me. Download, sign up... well... TRY to sign up. It is not working. Small icon keeps spinning as I try to set up an account and then continues to say 'Please connect to a network'. Well I can confirm I AM connected, always to a network. Pity. Sounds like an app I would consistently use. May give it a few weeks & download again to see if the kinks are worked out. Until then, uninstalling. Good luck.

Love this app! I've been using it for over a year to manage our Adventure Guides group and have convinced many other circles in our expedition to move to this app. It has everything we need and is WAY BETTER than alternative apps for this type of group organization (sports teams, clubs, volunteer groups, scouts, etc). The only things preventing a 5 star rating are related to (1) editing posts is wonky, (2) need ability for admins to edit posts, (3) we need subfolders. Please contact me!

Worst user experience ever! The navigation of this app is so unnecessarily convoluted that it makes me want to gauge my eyes out. You get a notification for a message, you tap and you go see it. If you decide to try to find it later, good luck! There are a bazillion places where it could've been. Navigation is at the top. Unless it's at the bottom. But wait, it's actually in the middle, too. Chats can be all over the place. Was it posted on a home page of a band? A signup? Gaaaaah!!!!!!!!

I don't like the interface and how hard it is to search for a specific band even if you know what its called. I dislike the lack of a logout button, or how hard it is to find if there is one. It's atrociously organized and difficult to use for something that is so simple that it's been done right a thousand different, better ways. A social app meant to do something this simple should not require a guide to use. I wouldn't use this if my favorite guild online had the sense to use discord.

Great app! I have about 5 band groups and recommend this app to everyone. I really like the functionality and organization of the app (folders, calendars, video chat, etc.). I can schedule messages to go out to the group, set reminders, and create polls (just to name a few features). It would be nice to have a care/concern emoji to select within the default chat for announcements such as a death in the family or a prayer request.

I really do like this app :D! It's been such a blessing during covid and has helped me and my peers stay connected. My one complaint is that I can send voice memos that are up to 5 minutes only. In addition to that, I can't skip around in the voice message so if I miss something, I have to relisten to the entire thing. Also, when I leave the app with a voice memo playing, it cuts off and I have to go back to play it from the start again :( Other than that, this app is great!

Band app makes having to keep up with multiple kids in different sports or activities much easier. Being able to join or create a group where people can communicate, post updates and info is great. And you can be apart of multiple groups at once. I gave 4 🌟 because the notification sound is dumb (I miss alot) and you can't change it in app-that I know of and every message is tacked to the bottom of the same thread. There's no separation to making it easier to find a specific post or info

It's great and really helpfull! It is free, and you don't need to buy anything for this to work! It is really easy to use, helps me to commuticate with my friends, has a calendar to show upcoming events you can make, gives you notices if theirs anything new, and lots of other cool things, too! I recommend that if you need to talk to a group in any sort, get this app!!!

I use this to run my girl scout troop & love it. It's very user friendly for the non- techie. The only thing I would change would be is for it BAND to automatically save a draft of a post. Sometimes I get interrupted & then close out all windows, forgetting that I was composing a post. Edited 11/2021 from 4 to 5 stars because the app was improved to include the post draft save feature (several months ago), and I can't wait to use a new feature to track the frequency of member check-in.

I use Band for my dancing. We upload videos of dances to practice them. Oftentimes, when watching, the video is always pausing and freezing. I know it's not my WIFI because other people have the same problem. Anything upload, like pictures, also have trouble loading. I think this is a good concept, but there's just a lot of problems and bugs that should be fixed.

I have found this app to be very, very useful in getting my band and parents organized, but I've also run into a problem with notifications not getting pushed through, even while turned on - and it's hampering our communication. I've just switched phones and now my own notifications won't arrive until I open the app in the foreground - even in the background, it won't update. If we could have a fix for that, a lot more of our students and parents would probably be better about using the app.
