This is a clean app. However it still has a long way to go. I had a cpl of basic coverage questions that could not be answered via the app. Truly basic. A phone call (with a substantial wait time) was the only way to get answers from BCBS. Time to catch up to 2025 BCBS. With the amount we're paying you each month I KNOW the upgrade money is there, right.
App and website is trash, even worst customer service. Called to get assistance to log into my account. Was told to try a different browser. I did, it was giving me error messages that their server is down to contact BCBS. Rep states there is nothing wrong on their end. I kept repeating myself that I've tried 3 browsers as well uninstalled and reinstalled the app and cannot get into my account. Nothing but "It's fine for us over here." How does that even help the customer?
I have been unable to sign into this app for the last several weeks. I keep getting a "looks like the server is taking too long to respond..." error. An email to the app support team only resulted in a response a couple of weeks later asking if I still had the issue. Update 11/14: As of yesterday, I have been able to log in. This is a very useful tool for tracking claims, remaining deductible, and out of pocket expenses.
There is nothing more frustrating than an app supposedly servicing something critical, like Healthcare insurance, failing miserably at the first steps: register by scanning the barcode -> all info confirmed properly identified -> choose "continue" -> the dreaded "something went wrong...come back later."... and later... and later....
The app will not allow my password manager to fill in the password. The fingerprint login took me to a screen to change the password. Not allowing me to use my password manager makes using a strong password nearly impossible. Maybe I should just use a really simple password to log in with! Also the app does not make it easy to find providers. Labs for blood work we're not even listed.
2.4 should be 1.0, can't even sign in or link account, an error occurred or try again later comes up. Even when one tries later... an error occurred. More terrible than mist reviews indicate. Uninstalling. follow-up: don't fall for the "we're" sorry bs, i sent them my info to "help". Never heard back, no emails, no messages, nada, nothing. App still sucks, doesn't work. Can't create an acct. No support, don't waste your time.
UPDATE: I am unable to access the provider finder, "Something Went Wrong" error keeps popping up. This app should be a lot better considering this is a major healthcare provider. For the most part, I'm able to access most parts of the app, however, the cost estimator always returns a "Sorry, something went wrong" error message and I need to go to the desktop site to actually get an estimate. Please fix this, would love to be able to check this on the go.
Having the same problem as most people below. I've had this app for years. This has to be one of the ABSOLUTE worst apps that I currently have on my phone!!! Haven't been able to log in for the last year! SHAME BCBSIL!! Obviously, it's not the customers fault if so many are having the same problems! GET IT TOGETHER!!
I tried to set my password and failed. It doesn't give any password rules so I just guessed. I used uppercase and lowercase and special characters and numbers and because I didn't know how long it had to be I made it 25 characters. I press button to submit and nothing happens. No invalid message, no prompt to confirm, nada. So I uninstalled the app.
Still a junk app. Never works have uninstalled and reinstalled. And just did again. Why can they send us emails that say to go to the app. ( that never works) to view what they paid. So you can call customer service every freaking time to get on to thier site. Use SNAIL MAIL send us a print out. YOUR APP STILL SUCKS. Great insurance. Lousy app.
A poorly designed app. Their developers would have been better off making their website mobile friendly than creating this app. The log in process is extremely clumsy and app functionality is very limited. For a while I couldn't even get my ID card on the app. Not worth downloading, you're better off just accessing the desktop site on your computer.
Used to be great but current version has broken the app. It uses a "wrapped" login now that never works. Basically it opens your browser and gets you to log in there. However this doesn't work properly with the app so you constantly get a "can't log in right now" message. The only way around this is to not use the app at all and simply log into BCBS of IL website using your browser. The app is pointless.
Too many errors, & glitches. I JUST downloaded it TODAY. It took about an hr. to get passed the user name, & passwrd prompt because, it fails to tell you what "error" is made even when all the green is marked. After changing everything about 10 x's even I was on it long enough to get my son's ID card. 2 hours later it's not letting me log back in. Why advertise "an easy way" when it's in fact hard, & frustrating. For a HUGE insurance company 1 would expect an easy app. & tech. support. Nope.
I used the chat feature on Galaxy s22 and the "Send a Message" area is buried beneath the android buttons so I had to change my phone settings to Gestures Just to click it. Then when I did, the keyboard covered the text window so I was typing blind. I told the Rep about the issue and that she might want to report it but she said it's an issue on my end and no other customers have an issue. I promise you it's not on my end, I've never had this issue in another app.
It's hard to separate the app experience from the service you receive overall. Actually, no it isn't, they are both terrible! You can't access any real information thru the app (you can't see much more from the website) so I usually have to call for every issue anyway. I don't blame the web developers - when your company strategy is to make it as difficult as possible to get any claim covered, not having functional information retrieval systems is pretty good synergy!
I started having issues with the app and website in November. I called customer service and they ran me through the gamut. Reset my account, cleared every cache on every browser, tried to get in from several different devices (app and website). The initial page would load but the claims area and search for provider area would give a "cannot load, try again later" message. Finally they set me up with a new account and password. It worked for 5 minutes and now same error. It is February.
I cannot even log into the app anymore. When I leave the app for a moment to get the one time pass code and return it will not let me type it in at all effectively locking me out unless I have a second device with me which is not feasible all of them time. And even when I could log in, the app loads slowly and generally does not function well. Just avoid and go online.
This app totally SUCKS, won't even bring up the virtual keyboard to input the security code BCBS sends. HORRIBLE !!! It appears that I'm not the only one having issues with this app. Even when it WAS working, I kept having to get a new security code every time I brought it up. This gets very old, and it's very frustrating! This needs to be resolved!
