It was just ok. There were plenty if times where things weren't mapped. The other huge issue was the concrete box apartments where you need it most you just don't have coverage so you think you are following it to a unit but you aren't. Most drivers who deliver regularly it is unnecessary. It was fine when it was free for the handful of times I used it but instant uninstall when it went to a paid App. Oh the begging to push our companies to sign up for the app is very unbecoming.
Reviews for Beans - Maps for Apartments
← Back to Beans - Maps for ApartmentsNot worth the subscription fee. I used to use this app as a last ditch effort to find apartments in my area though many of them weren't mapped. I submitted a map to beans months ago and they still haven't mapped that complex. For a service that I largely a work in progress I can't justify paying what they want monthly for something I can barely use. Gig apps will never integrate with you guys. This is a sad money grab. Is gig workers are hurting for money and resources. We can't afford this.
When I first started using this app, it worked great! I never had any trouble finding apartments when delivering pizzas. Now, after almost one year of using the Beans app, it no longer works. Every address I put in, I get aprompt stating that the map is not available. This was a really great app for a while but now it just doesn't work anymore.
This app has saved me so much time. Instead of spending my time stopping at the every apartment complex to look at the unit location and trying to memorize or take a picture of the map. I simply just input the customer's address and unit number and it takes me straight to it. There are some places that aren't registered but mostly 90% of places I've searched up are in here.
I had not used this app for a while, because it's terrible. The UI sucks, finding the actual apartments you want is a hassle, and in most cases you can't even find what you were looking for, which was the actual location of the actual individual apartment that a delivery goes to. I got on the app today, and now they want to charge a monthly fee for using this terrible app. No thanks. Uninstalling.
I've been using this app for a while and this app has definitely made delivering to apartments a lot easier and I would be lost without it but the reason for the 3 stars is because when I search a location and I'm looking at the map in satellite none of the other streets or landmarks are marked at all only just the location that you search. I hate that. it needs to change. That's like major it's a map all the streets should be marked The other reason is 4.99 a month really? It should be free.
I'm excited to try this app out today but I already can't turn off the location tracking when idle. I'm not working all the time, so I'd like the app to not track me when I'm not using it. However, the icon in the notification bar says "tap to stop tracking" but when I click it it just opens the app. How do I stop tracking when I don't need it? Edit: Am uninstalling. Tired of the tracking eating cpu and battery, apt location is cool but the features don't outweigh the cons 🤷♀️😕
Been using this app for months and I loved it. When I dash most customers don't put directions on how to get to their apartment so i would use the app. Also, sometimes the apartment dont show on the app. I would get mad about it but I didn't mind since the app helped me 95% of the time. Now there is a subscription to use the services. $4.99 a month/$60 per year is a bit much. I don't use the app that much for me to pay $60 a year for. No thanks
As a food delivery driver for almost 2 years I was hoping someone would make an app just like this and you all did! I have only used it a handful of times so far, but it is absolutely accurate/time saver. Shows me where to park by the customers actual apartment building. Many of the apartments I deliver to have very different addresses even though they are across from each other. This app helps greatly! LOVE IT AND THANKS FOR CREATING IT! I am definitely trying to get the word out about Beans!
Was quite helpful when free, then it switched to a pay app, and now suddenly all surrounding buildings et al are gone, making it more difficult to find the apt I need. It was worth the $5 before the latest change. Who in the world thought removing surrounding location markers was a good idea?! They need to find a new job. Also, there needs to be an option for us to add apt locations to complexes not yet mapped.
For my area, this is hit and miss. Mostly miss however, but still an option as compared to none. I do not like how to app doesn't stay open in the recents apps so it can't be referenced later. The first time I used Beans navigation, it took me to a closed gate that no one has used in a long time. It was more a service gate ... which I had to then jump over and walk. Not a good look for navigation in my opinion. They don't allow me to contribute addresses for unknown places and help others... Updated as of 3/3/22 to remove one star for going paid only.
I live in a city of about 125,000. I would estimate that of the apartment addresses I enter into Beans, 80% of them come back as "map not available". Of the 20% that are actually in the app, they are the apartments that are easy to find anyway. The ones with hundreds of units spread out over 20 or more buildings, are nearly always "map not available." $5 per month would be well worth it if most of the apartments were actually mapped. Beans went to a subscription model WAY too soon.
I'm gonna give it a try with the paid version. I hope it's worth it. Update: DAMN you went from a 2.2 star app, to a 1.4 star, like over night. There should be an option, that allows us, to suggest, complexes, and mobile home parks, that have not yet been mapped. I love this app, but 4.99? Charging to early, for something that still needs alot of work.
Way too many unmapped locations to be charging $5 PER MONTH. Maybe that much as a one time fee, but this app is not nearly complete enough to charge a subscription. Pretty sure the developers would have been more popular and successful with a simple donation button. (And it might not be too late, if you have any users left.) Save your money and look up the apartments site map yourself. It's more reliable anyway.
The only thing that seems to work is mileage tracking. It says to " search" other features but they either don't work or aren't there. Totally useless and I'm paying for it. Edit. I unsubscribed and it didn't change a thing. The app only tracks miles and sometimes misses a trip. I think support has ended for this app as well. Update: the thing doesn't track miles either but it sure will take your subscription fees. It should be removed because it's a rip-off.
Still testing this out. App appears to be abandoned. Does not have some complexes. Also, a strange design flaw and bug that uses a tiny font on the buildings, and then when you zoom in, the font increases only during the pinch, but when you release it, the font returns to the default tiny unreadable size. Font should always be the Largest that will fit. This app is a fabulous idea and would be worth paying for if it was maintained.
Beans used to be the perfect app for finding an apartment unit within a complex, more often than not taking you right to the front door. Now that the devs require a subscription to use this part of the app, it's completely worthless. I used to use the apartment search every day while driving my ambulance, as our territory is very apartment heavy, but I'm not spending money on a subscription for what used to be free. I'll go back to our paper maps and update them manually as I see the need.
It was a good app until they made it a $4.99/month subscription. Working side-gig work I relied on this app when a customer doesn't tell me where they live beyond just the apartment number. Not every place I go to has a map so this was perfect. I'd keep it for just finding the building number but that is not worth the hassle not the five bucks a month. The app had issues anyways and got a bit difficult to use when in a hurry. EDIT: I side with the ideas of making it cheaper like $1.99/month
No way to dismiss new features, so it gets in the way. No way to reset up is north, which is likely hidden behind the menu button in top left. No way to easily get to a tracked feature. For example, delivery proof or mileage tracking. You can see where it goes, but not how to get it there. No way to zoom directly into a complex to find buildings, rows, etc.
I work for ups as a driver and I have been using this app for about a year. Works great as a free app. Absolutely steller at accurately finding apartment numbers. So you can imagine my surprise when it cost 5 bucks a month. I can't conceivable find an excuse why this app has to have a month subscription. Maybe a one time purchase, not a monthly sub. Piss off and everyone at the company who decided this was a good idea can piss off too. Gonna go and find a free app (like beans us to be)
