Solid app! The Velo 2 is simple enough to use though perhaps a bit too much clicking to start and stop a ride. I absolutely love the heatmap function in the app to visualize my rides. 2 things that could be addressed are, the navigation isn't quite as efficient or direct as that which is provided in Citymapper and secondly out of my first 44 journeys, I've had 2 that didn't save properly. This also means they didn't get recorded to my heatmap. Thanks Beeline team! Keep iterating this great app
Reviews for Beeline
← Back to Beelinesuddenly not saving planned routes which sometimes I have spent ages planning. Tried reinstalling app, factory reset of device (now stuck on "scan to get app" screen) I have reinstalled the app but device won't budge from that screen. I'm currently away with the bike and customer support says they will email in 2 days. Trip ruined. Not good enough.
the app is good, however the road speeds and notifications really need more work with keeping up to date. all too often I'm finding the app listing 40mph roads as 60mph, not the worst issue as I'm paying attention, and an earlier verbal warning of my turn coming up would be nice, sometimes it seems to wait until I'm very near my turning point.
needs better help for permissions within the app. con: there is good assistance on the website if you are getting the prompt to give permissions- but what the app itself says to do doesn't work. the app should offer a link to the website advice along with that message. pros: this app has the best cycling routes- I have found better choices than Google maps and citymapper. it works as well as your phone's GPS, works well on my samsung galaxy a52s. the maps are very clear, showing road names well.
Device suddenly stopped recording. This issue has persisted all month and includes the most recent and previous updates. Routes show proper routing during the ride, but no distance, no time, no movement at all are recorded. Worked fantastic prior to this issue, but is now only half of what it was before.
90% of the time, the app is great. occasionally, usually following an update, it glitches. For me, this has happened twice this year. On the first occasion I was left with a temporarily non-functional Beeline Moto 2 (until I figured out how to reset it - too late for the ride). On the second occasion I lost tracking data, including a 250 mile ride. Displayed speed limits are also not always up to date compared to Google maps (think the new rash of 20 mph limits in towns)
Simple to use. Let the app take you to where you want to go, fast or scenic or enlarge the map and use your own route. Saving routes is simple. Started to loose connection with data or Bluetooth. Emailed help for advice but not getting a reply. Starting to let me down.
App not recording trip stats! I bought the Beeline Moto II a couple of weeks ago based on great reviews. I've recorded 6 rides so far and the past 3 have NOT saved. It shows blank stats for everything. I'm not impressed at having spent $350 on a device that doesn't actually work. Please fix this app, I've seen other reviews here reporting similar feedback so this is clearly a known issue. When the app recorded my 3 trips I was pleased with how it looked etc so really hope you can fix it ASAP.
edit, had to change from 4 to 1 star. once again I had a wonderful 5h trip, marking roads that I like. It was "recorded" as 2 journeys in Beeline. yeah, no trace after them in the app. I can do such rides not to often and I enjoy exploring heatmap to read more about places visited during the trip. nothing this time - exhausted parked at the end, pushed "Finish ride" went to mobile app and... no trace, 1st journey not visible at all, second 0km. Device was working and updating navigation...
I like my beeline Moto 2, it completely replaced my phone. It is NOT perfect and there's a lot of room of improvement. Sometimes I get the wrong exit if there are 2 next to each other on the highway, it doesn't always show both exits, and it does not have very good names for them. I would not have this problem with my phone and google maps, but i am ok with it for now. Edit: Raised by 1 star because they fixed speed cameras in Portugal
Ok, now it is enough! 2 month of app only working sporadically. I sign out/in, clear cache etc. doesn't help. Strava and Google maps from now on. Don't buy Beeline before they learn to cope and scale up with succes. Old review: For months, can't upload journey. It works sometimes, if you clear the cache right before starting the ride, but not always. No information available in the help center. Getting tired of this lottery. Also not able to add and sort favourites anymore.
Bloomin brilliant. You can let it find a windy route to wherever you want to go, even if it's to the middle of nowhere, you can tap it on the map and it's sorted. Visual and audible warning of turnings, which is great. Very discrete disc on my mirror stalk. I thoroughly recommend.
The Beeline Moto is a fantastic navigation device, and the app works well enough, but it only allows 25 waypoints (23 plus start and end point), and like any GPS app, it snaps to the fasteat route, so you end up needing more waypoints than should be needed when youre planning a long ride on twisty back roads. Perfect would be an ability to just draw a route on the roads you plan to take, without the need for waypoints at all. An edit route feature is needed, too.
Okay, I tried it but I'm not a cyclist or motorcyclist. I tried driving my Chevrolet Silverado 1500 while using Beeline in the compass via my Google Pixel 9 Pro XL. I truly love this concept but going 55 mph and viewing the map it lost me on the map, I switched to the compass mode, and it was okay. I knew where I was going and it knew when to make turns right at the turn, it didn't give me a warning turn up ahead at a given point in time like Google maps would. It can use some work.
I generally love this app/hardware for motorcycles. Building trips is not a super smooth activity, but it's not bad, but simply plugging in a single destination and riding off seems to be a breeze. Love the battery life of the device, and enjoy the app in general, doesn't drain my phone's battery as one might expect. Overall, a darn good product.
Absolutely horrendous application from an horrendous company, and if it wasn't such a hassle, I would return my beeline after using it. The bull begins immediately upon first use, when it demands that you make an account. Miss me with that nonsense. Pairing goes alright, but then it gets worse: there is no voice navigation. Not unless you shell out another $7 a month, to get what every other navigation app includes for free. And it's basically useless without. You're the Zero of navigation apps
It's not perfect, but it's simple intuitive and provides you choices on how busy the roads on your route are. You can also choose a traditional map with turn by turn indicators or an elegant black screen with simple directional arrows and the distance until your turn. Also, another feature is the compass route. You pick a destination and it simply tells you how far in a straight line to it and leaves you to find the way....whichever roads you take to get there are up to you!
So far, Not so good! I used Google Maps and I used the Beeline Moto on a 250 mile trip at the same time. The Beeline took me on the most out of the way route. Google Maps only agreed at the last 5 miles. This is on a route that I know. I'm nervous to rely on it for an unknown route. Also, wouldn't let me input a different address after I finished this route. Otherwise, I like the features and simplicity. Hope the bugs get worked out.
Can't seem to get it work quite right. I'm on a motorcycle, I set the route in Google maps(usa) and it syncs. The whole time it's on it shows a loading circle in the middle of the device and never updates beyond the first step. I have data on and permissions for location on. It's dangerous to follow it if it won't update so I have not been able to successfully use it on a trip yet. The device is nice, simple and readable. Fits on my handlebars nicely hut just doesn't play nice.
The audio directions are so bad I can't cycle for more than 3 minutes without going off route and it keeps deleting the way point and sends me home. It doesn't deal with going straight at a cross junctions instead directing you to perform a left and immediate right, it often doesn't give directions at roundabouts and took me through a field even though I'd set it to hard surfaces only. It appears to have not gone through even a little quality control. I'm amazed it released in this beta state.
