Seems like a great app.... if you pay for the subscription. There's not much information about what's available without it until you close out of the subscription offers. They offer a really good discount if you choose the yearly option. And I probably would have paid it. But I'm not gonna pay 25-40 dollars for something without actually getting to look it over first. The only option available for free users is, one 5 minute stretch routine lol. Seems predatory imo.
Reviews for Bend: Stretching & Flexibility
I love the app. It has given me the flexibility I've been wanting all these years!! I gave it four stars because it's a great app, but I think it would be more helpful if some of the stretches had visual positions to show how to stretch in those positions properly. For example, the lizard pose??? I think also since it's a paid program, giving some incentives for reaching certain milestones will be a great way to keep the momentum.
I like this app, I really, really do! It has great stretches and workouts and it's easy to customize. However, why isn't the lifetime purchase available alongside the monthly and yearly subscriptions in the app somewhere? I saw it once, decided against it for the time being, but wanted it when my trial ran out. Now it's nowhere to be seen, but the yearly subscription is being forced on me. Not very cool. That makes me want to delete the app altogether.
I like the interface, timers, stretch selection, along with readily available explanations and the ability to build routines. This app is a pleasure to use. There is room for improvement, but there always is with any app. More options in the timer settings would be appreciated. Options such as when and what to sound (like one tone for the countdown and a different one for the count between positions).
I love the ease and reliance of the Bend app. I hadn't stretched much since high school, and though I should return since I had been experiencing back, neck, and knee pains due to my physical job. Even just a couple sessions a week will have you feeling infinitely better! I love how I can create custom routines to target my worse areas. And even then pre/post workout options are great since I've started going to the gym. The free version is good, but the full version is truly worth every penny!
This is exactly the app I'm looking for!! Simple UI, poses that don't require you to watch a video, a daily reminder option and the ability to make your own routines. Problem is, I can't use any of that because there is only one exercise available for free. The subscription isn't very affordable, and I would consider paying for it if it was a one time fee but I don't think that it's worth paying for a monthly or yearly fee at this pricepoint.
There is no free version. I'm the trial, you only get the "Wake Up" stretches, and after the trial goes away, it's just an app taking up space on your phone. The auto timer was nice, but I can use other customizable timer apps. The app did explain under the stretches what you should be feeling and focusing on, so that was nice. It's just too expensive for the convenience.
downloaded the app with enthusiasm. They hit immediately with an ad stating you could get a lifetime discount on yearly subscriptions, but it was a one-time offer. I have no idea if the subscription is worth that amount, and frankly, I'm offended that I would lose out on a discount of 60-70% simply because I've never used the app before and I don't like being bullied into committing to a subscription for a service I've never used before. Immediately uninstalled. Never coming back.
Used it for about two weeks, my biggest issue is that it doesn't really adjust itself much for weight. I'm heavier and selected that stretches putting strain on my knees were bad and... it did nothing beyond add a tiny blurb at the bottom of the explanation to remind me I indicated my knees were an area of concern. Thanks, I know, that's why I picked that option, maybe stop recommending poses which put strain on my knees. Also, absolutely spams you with ads for premium.
Hey! I'm super happy with this app so far. I like the pre-loaded routines like wake-up, full body, posture reset, and sleep and have been using them. I have chronic low back pain and tight hamstrings, and this app has helped with both. I am actually able to touch my toes for the first time in forever. The stats are very useful, and I like being able to set my own reminders. Well done on this one. Flexibility is an extremely important part of overall fitness that I've been ignoring for too long.
