Been using the B&G: Companion App for Sailors for a couple months now. It’s basically a nav app for boaters – you can use it to plan routes, check weather and marine traffic, and even sync it with your boat’s electronics. Pretty solid if you’re into sailing and want a digital copilot.
Here’s what you can do: you can plot courses, mark waypoints, and the Autorouting feature is pretty cool – it’ll suggest the best route. There’s also AIS to see other ships around you, which is super handy. And the charts are detailed, pulled from C-MAP. Took me a while to figure out all the features but it’s a powerful tool.
Look, if you’re a sailor, this is worth checking out. It’s not perfect – the interface can be a bit clunky at times – but overall it does the job of being a go-to navigation companion. Definitely a must-have for anyone with B&G gear on their boat.

So here's my take on the B&G: Companion App for Sailors. I've tested a bunch of different marine nav apps and this one is pretty solid overall. The charting and route planning features work well, and being able to sync it with your boat's instruments is a big plus. But the UI is a bit dated and clunky compared to some newer apps. And while the core functionality is strong, it's not the most user-friendly app out there. Still, if you're a sailor with B&G gear, it's probably worth having in your toolkit.
