Been using Bible verse of the day for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that shows you a new Bible verse every day. Pretty solid if you’re into that kind of thing. Here’s what you do: you can swipe left or right to see past verses, and there’s also a widget to put the daily verse on your home screen. Took me a while to figure out the settings, but you can customize the Bible translation and notification schedule. Look, if you’re into daily devotionals or just want a quick dose of inspiration, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the ads can get annoying if you don’t pay – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out.
Daily Bible verse app with offline mode
System Requirements
So here's my honest take on Bible verse of the day. I've tested a bunch of Bible apps and this one's pretty good for what it is. The translations cover all the major versions, and the offline mode is clutch. I like that it's a simple one-verse-a-day thing without a ton of extra features. But it does get a little repetitive after a while, and the ads can be intrusive if you don't pay. Overall though, it's a solid option if you want a daily dose of scripture on your phone.
Pros
- Covers major Bible translations like ESV, KJV, NIV
- Offline mode so you can see verses without internet
- Nice widget to put the daily verse on your home screen
- Free to use, no need to pay for the basic features
Cons
- Ads can be annoying if you don't pay for the premium version
- Gets a bit repetitive seeing the same format every day
- Took me a while to figure out all the settings

I have the notification set, but it only ever pops up when I have already opened the app. That doesn't do me much good for remembering to do my reading...
The verses are always very short. A longer verse would be nice occasionally. Also, I wish there was a brief commentary/discussion attached with each daily verse for help in understanding...
Really love the transparency setting for the widget - it's so pretty! If you could add an option to choose whether to go to the website or open the app...
