Reviews for BimmerLink for BMW and MINI

← Back to BimmerLink for BMW and MINI

Extremely limited, countless features that exist on alternatives that are missing here and you only find out after paying for a license, one important one to cite is the inability to reset transmission adaptation values or any other module, was only useful to me while registering a new battery and for reading DTC codes, but for a similar price (BimmerLink + BimmerCode) you can get all in one solutions with way more features, would love to see more being added in as I am deeply unsatisfied.

The app works good until you need to export your log file. For $50 you get a painfully difficult experience of exporting files. If it actually worked right I could email the file to myself and download it then do with it whatever I please. Instead of having that convenience you press send and nothing happens. The only way I can make it work is if I send the email while sitting in front of a computer with my email up and the same time so I can watch it go through. It's so counterintuitive.

Wasted money. Impossible to reset the service interval after doing the service. impossible to reset the error memory.

awesome app! that does a lot of different coding on your car. so cool to be able to do it. just be careful. you don't want to mess up anything that you don't know. you messed up. 🙂

I can't get it to work using a ENET cable and USB C-Ethernet adapter. BimmerCode works just fine using the same cable. Tried on multiple phones but, with no success :( Car is a BMW F20 2013.

I like the app, but wish the android auto app would show the dashboard. If you use the sensor list you can't see a quick view of more than a couple values on your car screen.

can't do anything without paying 40 dollars to unlock the full app. Nothing says anything about a 40 dollar block on the full app. waste of money.

A great app does exactly what it should. Maybe default codes and 1 dashboard activated by default could be more user friendly for the 1st usage

purchased pro mistakenly thinking I was buying bimmercode which is my fault of course. But then the developer wants to call me a liar for it. Hell no. Avoid like the plague. Buggy, rubbish, disconnects from the car at random.

it's half decent app, and full version is not worth money. it just shows you soem generic test against the codes. other free diagnostic tool do the same and they do access all modules. not sure how they justify €40 price tag.

This would be a zero star review if that was an option. Battery registration is behind a paywall, something that is not mentioned anywhere until you go to do it. It's 53 CAD for anyone else who comes across this. It's literally the only reason I needed this app, what a farce.

overall very good. however I bought the Android add on to find that it on lists dashboard items as text. I was expecting it to reflect the dashboard in the phone app. like the car scanner app does. so a little disappointing.

Completely junk app, I bought it in 2024 and only I was able to connect it to my Nexlink adapter only once it has not worked since. I can download other OBDII app (even free) it works. Don't pay for this pay it is a waste of time & money.

It should not be this hard (BMW X3). Bimmerlink would not Connect, using a "Approved" ENET cable to (Pixel 9 Pro), using new USB-C ENET adapter. Bimmerlink would not Connect, using a brand new "Approved" OBDLink CX adapter, even though the OBDLink had no trouble connecting. Support, is automated, where they just send you links to "helpful" information. Only trying to Register a new Battery. I'm Not a tuner here. I do not like this software. It should not be this hard.

Android Auto add in is glitchy and doesn't allow you to scroll through sensors. It seems to refresh the data every second which stops you from scrolling down. Basically if you have more than 4 items on your dashboard, you won't get to see them. Pretty lame considering your paying an extra $10 for the add in on top of the cost of the app. Although Bimmerlink gives you access to a ton of different "sensors" most of them don't display any data depending on your vehicle. Car Scanner is a better app

Worked great to reset the battery but I did remove a 70Ah battery and put a 60Ah in place of it. Found out that $40 for this app doesn't allow me to tell the car it's got a slightly different battery and I need to spend $50 more for bimmercode, $90 total. Screw it, I'm telling the car it's still got a 70Ah. Kinda ticked off about needing 2 apps.

Disappointed, even with their bluetooth obd2 dongle the data stream is slow and unusable for any serious logging of data. the app itself is overly simple for any datalogging, raw data for lamda so can't even use those for the afr, boost shows in bar not psi, android auto is useless the app only shows a few items in a list format and delayed and anytime you multitask it has to relaunch and reconnect etc..etc.. kind of a gimmick and waste of money.

waste of money, came up with a whole heap of false codes. I'd just had a main dealer look at it and we compared data. Don't bother with it. All it can do that's interesting is open the exhaust flap in non sport mode. Resetting to closed after you switch it off. Asked for a refund didn't get it because apparently I used it to reset codes. I literally tried to read them only, it also reset my service data which I also didn't want. overall a total waste of time.

The clearing codes thing is kind of cool, but I got this app mostly for data logging. The data logging on this app seems kind of useless because it only logs at certain intervals, and those intervals are too far apart to be of any use. It can completely miss pulls that are 0-70mph+. If there was a way to set the interval of how often it captures data instead of once every like 10-15 seconds, that would be awesome. Not sure if that's an app limitation or OBD2 limitation.

Bought this and BimmerCode full versions to register a battery which worked well enough. Weird that it takes both apps to get this done (select new size in one, register in the other.) I'd give 4 stars for that but beyond that it's unhelpful. I purchased a different app (Protool) available on play store so that I can see more realtime data and perform default coding on new modules. I suspect I won't use these two BimmerLink/BimmerCode apps anymore since that one is much more robust.
