great private chatting app. uses Bluetooth to connect to nearby users.

please enable edgetoedge and make the app as good looking as the iOS version. this is a 2nd class experience when I have both ios and android version open side by side.

Huge game game changer, cheaper than meshtastic while being more accessible to family who aren't as tech literate!!

honestly it deserves 5 stars, but where I'm from nobody will probably use it for a long time, not unless it gets popular enough, so for now it's 4 stars, but it's a very nice concept

I like the minimal look of it. I wish it had more features based on where you live.

Bitchat is great! I'm excited to see it finally on the Play store so I can get my normie friends to install it now. Hopefully we get some fun new updates soon.

Privacy is power and I protect it through BitChat. I love the UI and the app is safe, reliable and easy to use.

As soon as the install process finished, my Pixel 6 Pro on Android 16 rebooted by itself. Never has something like that happened before. Any reason why?

this is crazy I love it. even i meet a people from others countries and I known that they are from the military. but I kind of like it . Great job . I hope you keep it like that without making any updates on it. it looks cool so cool .

BitChat is an impressive messaging app that combines simplicity with powerful privacy features. The interface is user-friendly, making it easy to navigate, while the end-to-end encryption ensures secure communication. I appreciate its fast performance, minimal design, and how it respects user data. A great alternative for those looking for privacy-focused chatting!

Mimics IRC chats. Works pretty consistently. Works offline, too. All is needed is for this thing to get more popularity globally, and the goal of the app to be a regional IRC channel will be fulfilled.

this app is great for private chats. the android version can't verify people with their private key like you can on iPhones. Idk if it's a bug or if that feature has not been released for android. either way this app is still good.

such great and useful app, but sadly most of the time i can't connect with my friends using mesh or even other locations, it just doesn't connect no matter what we try. i really hope you fix this problem because i need this app very much and I'm sure others do too. thank you.

The best chat ever. It's really good for activists, opposition and just regular folks. This app is open-source and has e2e encryption and decentralization. Share this app with your friends! And btw, this app works without internet via the mesh network (10-50 meters). It's good in the plane or during the protest. Also this app doesn't require much space in storage. Thank you Jack for that app. it's amazing. I hope this app will be popular. It's a really good idea. Thank you Jack ♥️

ok it works, just tested it out android to iphone no issue. it just this app user interface seems "ok" for user that often playing around with terminal or mirc. if this app want to be an ideal general solution for any ages then need to change the layout user interface.I can't imagine i install this app on my parents phone and ask to using this app when isp signal is dead or lack of inet connection when we are in hospital building. got it!?

Its game changer app. but add more features like lightweight sending any types file send option like Photos, videos, Audio, Docs, PDFs, etc. and add voice and Video calling feature.

The app does not work in the background and must remain open to function. Shortly after the screen turns off, it stops working and does not receive any messages. For this application to be effective, it must work in the background and maintain the connection to receive and deliver messages. Without that, it is useless. I hope you will convey this message to the developer.

The REAL bitchat, finally on Google Play! What's offline bluetooth messaging good for, you ask? Information & organization at events, disaster recovery, or just household family and neighborhood block communication. It's a little basic at the moment, but that's part of the charm. Open source, no ads or spyware, and it already has a nice set of features, with encrypted private messages, channels, and blocking.

Bitchat is unlike any other chat app I’ve tried. It doesn’t rely on the internet or servers—messages move through nearby devices using Bluetooth mesh. That means you can still talk to people in areas with no signal, which is brilliant for events, travel, or emergencies. The privacy focus is impressive: no accounts, no phone numbers, and everything is encrypted. If you want a glimpse of the future of private, decentralized communication, Bitchat is definitely worth trying.

Bitchat has interesting potential. It could do with more help than just the slash menu list of commands. If I can remember the old IRC commands which I rarely used I might figure out how to create a private nick, maybe? Can I "name" or alias someone for my contacts list such as "Dad"? The bigger the crowd or party the more beneficial this might be, or the more densely populated the area, but in places where you'd likely never be within Bluetooth range of another human it might not catch on.
