So here's my honest take on Blackmagic Pocket Control. I've tested a bunch of camera control apps and this one's pretty solid. The feature set is really comprehensive - you can basically adjust every setting you'd want to on the camera right from your phone. The UI is simple and intuitive too, which is important for an app like this. In my experience, the Bluetooth connection has been a little spotty at times, but a quick cache clear usually fixes that. Overall though, it's a really handy tool if you shoot with a BlackMagic Pocket cam and want more control over the settings.

Description

Been using Blackmagic Pocket Control for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you control all the settings on your BlackMagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K, 6K, or 6K Pro. Pretty solid app if you’re into video production and need a way to fine-tune your camera on the go.

Here’s what you can do: you can start/stop recording, adjust the exposure settings like aperture, shutter angle, ISO and white balance, and even switch between RAW, ProRes, and BRAW formats. There’s also focus control which is pretty cool – you can pull focus and rack focus between set points. And you can control zoom on power zoom lenses, which is a nice feature.

Look, if you’ve got one of those BlackMagic Pocket cameras, you’ll probably find this app really useful. It’s not perfect – the Bluetooth connection can be a bit finicky sometimes – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you wanna have more control over your camera settings from your phone.
