So easy! Plus, covid test results! Make/change appointments, search is fairly intuitive, very clear. Turn on just the reminders you want, for me that's when I'm eligible again and when it's time for rapid-pass check in. Plus eview medications and travel restriction details at leisure (not just when waiting to give!). 3.5 gallons and counting. 👍
Reviews for Blood Donor
Good: auto-add appointment to calendar, digital rapid pass, sign-in, donor card, scheduling (so-so), rescheduling (meh) Bad: follow my "blood journey" doesn't work at all. When scheduling/rescheduling, it doesn't tell you time slots are full til the end. It shouldn't prompt you to take a time slot that is already full! Gotta keep trying again and again. Most disappointing is not really being able to follow my "blood journey" though.
The appointment search functionality needs to be fixed. It's so frustrating that I just ended up calling. I spend all this time in menus to be given a list of drives that I can theoretically go to, just to be told I am not eligible (with no info given) and to restart the search all over again. Just painful I also have to dig around just to see the next time I am eligible which should really be front and center of any search. I dont care about digital badges. Develop a working search instead
The app mostly works just fine. it's a great way for me to schedule my next appointments instead of trying to figure out when and where I can next donate over the phone. the only issue I seem to have is that when I complete the rapid pass through the app, the donation drives seem to not be able to locate/process is so I end up having to do it all over again. Minor inconvenience but it is nice when it works.
The app has many helpful features for keeping track of my hemoglobin & BP as well as my appts. The only suggestion would be for the gallon badges to keep up. I'm at 11 gallons as of yesterday but it's not even showing as an option. I recall that the 10 gallon badge didn't show up either until I contacted the Red Cross (after months of waiting for it). Can't it be programmed to appear automatically when the appropriate number of donations have been reached? I like seeing the number of gals...
I like that the app tracks my information and let's me see how much blood I've donated over time, etc. However, currently on the home screen it tells me I can donate now (as do the continued calls from ARC) but when trying to schedule a new appointment it says I'm not eligible because it's too soon. Within the last two years the app has become almost useless: the scheduling component no longer works (can't find anything), nor does the donation history.
This app is frustrating because when it lists upcoming dates and locations for blood drives, it doesn't filter out the ones that already have all their timeslots filled. The only way to see whether there are any slots left at that drive is to click on the drive and view its details. So it may give me two dozen blood drive listings, but only a handful of them are actually available for me to sign up for, and the only way to find those is to go through them all one-by-one.
The scheduling part of this app is really poorly designed. Plug in your location and preferred time and see a list of location that are fully booked and/or outside of your time constraints. Wouldn't it just be easier to show all the open slots only? What's the point in seeing fully booked locations and having to click on them to find out there's no availability.
**Edited 8/13/20 Had to just remove from my phone, the information just doesn't sync, won't let me schedule an appt at a drive. Just easier to use the website.** Original review: If you schedule an appt to give the day of, or even the day before using the app, it will not show up at the site, so they double book it with walk ins. Also, it still hasn't synced with my donor info allowing me to do the fast check in. Just some bugs to work out I guess.
Really appreciate Red Cross and all of the good they do. But as far as this app goes, I'm just not sure. I made an appointment the other day and did RapidPass but when I arrived at the blood drive they had no record of it. Showing them my text from ARC and the RapidPass was irrelevant. I dont know if that was the apps fault or just a failure to sync with the system. But I ended up not bring able to donate. Will try again
