I’ve been using the Blue Shield of California app for a couple months now. It’s basically a mobile app that lets you manage your health insurance stuff from your phone. Pretty solid if you’re a Blue Shield member and want easy access to your coverage details.

Here’s what you can do with the app: you can view your digital ID card, search for doctors and hospitals, check the status of your claims, and understand your benefits. There’s also a cool feature where you can download your ID card to your Google Wallet. Took me a bit to figure that one out but it’s super handy.

So here's my take on the Blue Shield of California app. I've tested a bunch of different health insurance apps and this one's pretty solid overall. The ability to access your ID card, check claims, and find in-network providers is really convenient. The user experience is pretty intuitive too, which is nice. On the downside, I have found the search feature to be a bit hit or miss at times. And the app can feel a little basic compared to some of the more feature-rich competitors. But for managing your Blue Shield coverage on the go, it's a decent option.
