Where's the dark mode option? It's too damn bright to use at night. I currently have built scenes to try to mitigate the BLINDINGLY white screens (due to the lack of dark mode), but even that has problems. Because you have to aim for the small "play" buttons. If you press anywhere else on them, it takes you to the edit screen... Which you guessed it... Is blinding white while I'm trying to adjust the fan and not wake up my partner. SERIOUSLY. WHERE'S THE DARK MODE. THIS ISNT DIFFICULT.
Reviews for Bond Home
← Back to Bond HomeGreat product? Great product. I lost my remote. I didn't know how to open. It was a big window for me. Looking over the ocean and I had people coming over and I couldn't find my remote, by the way, can I get another one? Somehow, I'll pay, and I opened up my phone, and I remembered my installer, put it on my phone. I hit the button shade went up. So thank you for your remote
The developers need to realize that these controllers are for shades used to block sunlight. I would give it 5 stars if it weren't for the gap between 3 hours after sunrise and 3 hours before sunset when you can't program the blinds to open or close. I don't want to use a set time because of the changes throughout the season. Please fix this in a new update!
Fantastic hub with easy setup! Tried the broadlink hub with Yoolax blinds and was hit or miss. Bond hub immediately connected, worked incredibly well and synced with Google home. Edit 2 years later now, the device works half the time. I've been in contact with them multiple times and they fixed it once but then they changed something in the firmware which undid the fix. I have done tremendous amount of testing on this and I have provided them with solutions, but they have implemented.
More about the company and the app... This is my second Bond Bridge. The first didn't function after trying to bring it back online after a move. The team did a tremendous amount of troubleshooting over email over weeks before offering to give a discount on a new one. After receiving the new one, I know that the older one obviously was damaged in the move, because this new one went through the app guiding navigation with ease and after just a couple of minutes the bond was up and ready to use!
Need to be able to program missing/all button functions in manual mode for RF and IR remote types. When bond does not have the device in the database, you cannot manually program all the advanced functions you might have on your remote. I have some generic devices that have a bunch of functions. Adding generically gives toggle, on and off only. I have to create a device for each special function. Most fans from major brands work. Tip: use the most complex function to find your remote.
This unit setup was so flipping easy. Wired in power. Tested the remote and that worked perfectly. Then installed the Bond app and that went smoothly with firmware upgrade. The process required some patience and uses up a bit of my cell battery but 5 minutes later and BAM! Works awesome. Thanks. Happy customer. Now i will buy more for the other rooms.
This is an awesome little device that packs a punch I love being on the control my fan in the bedroom from my phone, I can't seem to get mine stay connected anytime I go to it it's always saying sinking if I unplug it and plug it back in then it works for a day or two and then stops so I had to change my review it could be an issue with a device but I don't think so
I bought Bond to control 5 ceiling fans and a set of Somfy blinds (not shades). It works perfectly on everything with one exception. The 'close' command for Somfy is equivalent to a short press of the button which only moves the blinds slightly. Even with this limitation, it's still a great improvement over all the remotes!
Terrible device. Fan manufacturer says its bond compatible but the remote is not in their database. Programming the buttons manually into the remote is a real pain and then does not work correctly. Tell it to turn on the fan, and it turns on both the fan and the light, even tho they are programmed as separate devices. Light has the capability of changing color temp, but that doesn't work either. Don't waste your time or money. "Customer support" is terrible!
Update: Some of the more major issues have been fixed, but new issues crop up in the process. For example, an issue since the last update is displaying the wrong device status until you force stop the app and reopen. At first I thought the state was getting out of sync, but it just isn't displaying it properly in the UI. This becomes frustrating when I'm away from home and see a light is "on", so I'll try to turn it off and inadvertently be turning it on.
I love the ability to control the fan & light remotely from my phone. I can turn the fan and light on from 1360 miles away, which I do if the humidity in my house rises. I know it's working through my security camera app. The only negative is that the actual remote becomes disabled when connected to the app which I find odd and a little inconvenient.
Great app if you have a flag ship fan link "Hunter" it can find you remote model and grab all the settings (buttons) instantly. If not you have to program each button. If having issues programming, go into advanced settings (if having trouble programming fans) and turn type to "Auto" and not just frequency. Even though My fans are frequency based they would not register until "Auto" (to check for IR) was turned on.
I've only had it for a few weeks, but it's been great so far for my house's 6 ceiling fans. Setup is a little confusing at times - if your remote isn't imediatley recognized, 2 fans next to each other that use the same type of remote, and random other things that may not be an issue for you. Either way, It's been able to do everything I wanted it to do so far, so I'm very happy with it. Especially at the price - just go for it. Voice cammands and one, centralized remote (your phone) is awesome.
I didn't trust the app's remote detection when first setting it up, since it didn't match the model of our ceiling fans, and tried to program instead. That was frustrating, but after trying again and choosing the detected remote, things work well. One unit covers our 2 story house, and works great with the assistant. Much more reliable than the actual remotes!
No more lost remote, it lives in its holder and we just use the app! The only features missing from the fan remote was the light timer (only had fan timer) and the "home" function that turns the light off and on at varying intervals to make it look like you're home. Don't miss either since we didn't use them. Oh, and the dimmer control (press and hold), but we don't change that much and it's easy to do on the old remote that now doesn't get lost since it stays in one place.
I tried using the Wink smart fan and light controller, the unit failed and integration was just ok. I moved over to Bond Bridge and it rocks! I was able to setup all 6 rooms in my house in under 30 minutes and it is supported in Smartthings which is my smarthub of choice. I can't recommend this enough. I am going to try and find more use cases for this since it can control more than just lights and fans.
There are still a great number of things to be worked out. I am literally only controlling a few fans and a handful of outdoor lighting (5 bulbs - 1 fixture)...fans (dimmers not included) work flawlessly - dimmers can be a little sketch though part of that may lay on my end re: the module / controllers / bulbs. On the lighting side it can be difficult to align those 5 bulbs color and brightness wise. You should be able to copy or apply the same settings across them all. I'm mainly happy 😊
The first iteration of this application was horrible...there was nowhere to go but up. And now they have soared to the top. I have 4 devices at different points of a 3000 sqft house and they work flawlessly. Ironically two devices work better with the app/phone than the original remote control supplied!! Excellent product.
Great app with full controls for speed, direction, light, dimming and more. used it for 6 months and works extremely well, amazing! Being able to control from my phone makes it always easy to get the most from the fan even if the actual remote is across the room. I actually prefer the Bond app to the remote as it a great interface, clear, and works everytime
