I've tested a bunch of different study apps and Bookshelf is one of the better ones I've found. The features are robust without being too complicated, and it integrates well with the VitalSource textbook platform. In my experience, the offline reading and sync capabilities are the real standout features. The only downsides are the occasional ads and the fact that it can get a little repetitive after a while. But overall, I'd say it's a pretty solid choice for students who want an all-in-one mobile studying solution.

Description

Been using Bookshelf for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you access all your digital textbooks and study materials on your Android phone or tablet. Pretty solid if you’re a student who’s always on the go.

Here’s what you can do – you can download books for offline reading, highlight and take notes, create flashcards, and even have the books read out loud to you. And there’s also a feature to sync your stuff across devices, so you can pick up right where you left off. Took me a while to figure some of that out, but it’s pretty useful.

Look, if you’re a student who needs a convenient way to access your course materials, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the ads can get annoying if you don’t pay – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out.
