So here's my honest take on British Museum Audio. I've tested a bunch of museum apps and this one's definitely one of the better ones. The amount of content is really impressive - you could spend hours exploring all the different exhibits and audio guides. The self-guided tours are a nice touch too. At the same time, the app can be a little glitchy at times and the interface isn't the most intuitive. But overall, it's a solid option if you want to learn about the museum's collection without actually visiting.

Pros

  • Tons of content - over 250 highlights with expert commentary
  • Self-guided tours let you explore the museum at your own pace
  • Free to download with option to buy full bundle
  • Works great for virtual visits or to prep for an in-person trip

Cons

  • App can be buggy and crash occasionally
  • Interface is a bit clunky and not the most user-friendly
  • You have to pay to unlock all the features

Description

Been using British Museum Audio for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you tour the museum and learn about the exhibits even if you can’t visit in person. Pretty solid if you’re into art and history.

Here’s what you can do: there’s over 250 highlights from the collection with expert commentary. You can also listen to intro guides for 65 different galleries. And it’s got audio, video, text, and images to give you a ton of info. And you can create your own self-guided tours to explore different areas, from ancient Egypt to Medieval Europe.

Look, if you’re into museums and learning about cool artifacts, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the app can be a bit buggy at times – but overall it does a great job bringing the British Museum experience to your phone. Worth checking out.
