I've had this app for a while and once you get a budget started, it's easy to clone it for the next month! One feature I'd like to see in conjunction with tracking credit accounts, is the addition of an APR tracker. If I could enter the APR for the credit account, and the app could calculate the monthly interest so I didn't have to, it would keep the Balances accurate even after I record a payment.
Reviews for Budget planner—Expense tracker
← Back to Budget planner—Expense trackerI'm giving a low rating because it's misleading. It presents itself as a free app, but after you've spent a month recording everything you've spent, etc., you find out you have to upgrade to do anything real with the app. For instance, you can't use the same budget from month to month unless you retype everything in each time, and then if you want to save your data, gotta upgrade of course. Then what's the use? Use something simple like Good Budget instead. This app was a huge waste of time.
Loving my options so far. I can create monthly budgets, add categories, add income categories, add transactions and categorize them, put date and time, and even snap a picture of the receipt. I bought the premium for $5 so I can backup all the data and use the other features. One small thing that annoys me is that I can't type in the date and time, I have to flip thru a calendar to select the date and select the time on a clock. Other than that, no complaints!
This app is simple, quick to use, and cheap (if you want the paid version)! You can easily fine tune every dollar in your budget and see into the future. It's great for organizing money. It almost loses a star becuase I've experienced a few refresh bugs. For example, I've updated the way categories are sorted and not seen them update until I leave and come back. Same with adding new categories (they go to the bottom until you navigate away). Navigating away and back fixes these issues, though.
The ads make the user experience quite terrible. I understand from an upsell perspective that you're trying to convert to paid customers, but I truly can't evaluate the apps functionality if I'm interrupted with an ad with every almost single click. I uninstalled after 5 minutes of use because if this. There's no way I'd pay for it if I have no idea what it's capable of because I'm being bombarded with ads instead of being onboarded to the app.
This app got me out of debt! i love having an app where I can make several different budgets on my phone and enter them in simply. i can copy previous budgets that worked and use them for next month. i have an overall monthly budget that shows my income and all monthly expenses (bills) and projected ones, like groceries. i am also able to do weekly budgets for gas to make sure I dont go over that either. love it!!!
This is a good app, I use it to keep track of my monthly budget and how much I'm able to save at the end of each month Had some trouble importing .csv of my banking statement, which aside from being able to copy the budget for each month is the reason I paid for the premium version. Ended up finding a solution by making the .csv just a regular .txt file. Again, had issues with formatting as it was bringing expenses in as income, but upon making a separate column for each and then telling the app to import both as one it finally worked. I'm giving the app 4 stars because it is a good app, but because of the troubles I ran into and having to spend nearly a whole day finding a workaround for functionality that you just expect to work the way they instructed if you've paid for the feature
It is simple to use and has the basics without all the fluff. Graphics and color are easy to understand. Doesn't stress you out. And above all it helps me keep tract of my expenses and budget. I can even add categorizes like Savings, Home Maintenance/Improvement, Fun Money, Pets, ect. and stay in my budget. I can choose my own categorizes and name as I please without having them preset.
Used to be great- there was a normal amount of ads. Now every time you click something it takes you to an ad. You cannot perform 2 actions in a row w/o an ad. There are ads immediately upon opening the app. I understand apps need ads, but this is extremely excessive. So disappointing because the actual app itself is fantastic. I would give it 5 stars if it weren't for the excessive ads. You basically have to buy premium to even use it, and that's $15 A WEEK. And that's a ridiculous price!
Very nice and easy to use. I Ike that I can customize my own categories, sub-categories. Easy to make transfers between bank accounts, savings accounts, credit cards, cash, etc...Easy charts to get an overall look at my spending, bills, subscription fees, etc...I have been using it for two months now and have decided to get the paid version. Paid version allows you to "clone" your monthly budget to the following months, so you don't need to keep entering categories for bills, expenses or income
If you're looking for a free budget app, this one isn't it. It used to be nice and had moderate amount of ads. But now every time you open, put in a transaction, or even back out to check the amount you want to add in, there's an ad that pops up and takes over the whole screen. I respect that ads keep them going, but there becomes a point when it overwhelms the user and just makes it unbearable.
Update: You try to pull the app up and are greeted with loud ads that are difficult to silence and close. After 5 years ad free, I'm uninstalling this app and doing everything myself on Google Sheets. Original Post: I've used this app for 5 years ad and issue free recommended it to everyone. All of a sudden it's filled with ads so what was once an app you could quickly open, record a purchase and close is now a minute long process to navigate the ads. Now it's something I would not recommend.
I have used the free version of this app for many years; I absolutely loved it. In March, an update occurred that made the app completely unusable. It's inundated with ad after ad after ad. To even exit the app, you have to watch an ad. To get rid of these ads, you have to purchase the subscription at $14.99/week (!!!). I would have to budget for my budget app. I found some other apps that work for my needs that are either free or $1.49/month, so this app will be uninstalled.
I've been using this app for years. It was recently updated and now includes ads. I usually don't mind ads, but I find it very difficult and burdensome to enter in my expenses when an ad plays every time you click something. Very ineffective. The price to remove ads is unreasonable in my opinion, especially when there are many other free budget apps out there that are more efficient and convenient. Unfortunately, I found another app and will be undownloading this one.
Free version used to be top tier. Now, it's FLOODED with ads. I get it, inflation has hit us all. Was looking at possibly getting the premium version since I used to love this app. Premium is $14.99/week! That is insanely high and not reasonable. Until the free version isn't spammed with ads or the Premium version is more of a reasonable price, my review will stay a one star. A 3 day free trial isn't a proper amount of time for the cost of the subscription. 3 wks would of been an equitable trial
I used this app for years. I even recommended it to people. It was very basic and simply allowed me to plug in numbers to keep track of my daily spending and tallied up totals for me. I didn't have to pay for anything and I didn't have pop up ads. It was basically an organized note app. Now however every time I open the d@mn thing it blasts me with a loud, minute long, non-skippable, annoying game or product ad, which opens play store when I close it. I will delete this app. F@#$ you for this.
I'm so sad. I paid for a premium subscription years ago and have been a faithful user of the app. I opened the app one day to see ads and I was very confused. I was actually completely okay with paying another one-time subscription, even though it's a hassle. It's an amazing app, and I thought it was worth it. But $15 a week is actually insane. I'm so sad to lose my favorite budgeting app.
Every time the app updates, my recurring transactions get deleted and it's very annoying to have to keep adding. Easy to use and plenty of customization. I was able to set up my budget in about 5 minutes. Plus, instead of weekly or monthly budgets, I can set the budget date range, which is great when you are paid on specific dates each month. I would like to have a "main" account, so that I can budget money from that account to put into other accounts (ie. Take $50 from checking to credit card)
I used to love this app. I use it almost every day and I've referred it to many friends. The free version is now riddled with lengthy ads that happen so frequently I can barely put in my expenses. It takes so long that my phone would lock and the ads would pause. The price to upgrade, which used to be a one time fee, is now an atrociously priced, weekly subscription fee (9.99/wk) that is more expensive than having multiple streaming services.
I already had a premium subscription BEFORE the new update and I can no longer use the premium features without paying the new, exorbitant rate. I've contacted customer service numerous times to resolve the issue, but have been ignored. I have been a customer for over 2 years, have provided feedback for improvements when changes were made over the years (beta testing) and this is what happens....... you're welcome!
