It seems like this app is really customizable, but doesn't seem to work well for my use case. For the most part I want to be able to batch my text notifications, but turn off that rule at specific times when I'm expecting to hear from someone. However, it seems like batching messages delays texts from being sent to my phone, even if I turn off the rule, since I'll turn the rule off but still receive those messages hours later than they were sent
Reviews for BuzzKill Notification Manager
← Back to BuzzKill Notification ManagerNot sure if this is a buzzkill issue or an android issue, but lately a large number of notifications I have setup in buzzkill (like a custom tone for my sms app) will ring, but the notification will never appear. So if I don't hear it ring, I'll never know it happened. I have one auto-dismiss rule, but when I checked the notifications that are missing aren't getting dismissed by it.
After some searching and trying with other apps I ran into a Reddit post mentioning this one and it is exactly what I was looking for. I needed an app to dismiss on both my phone and my watch only the message notifications of friends sending me Reels or other shared content. This app does this and more! It is also so simple and satisfying to use. Now I can stop checking my notifications so often and get less annoyed with constant pop ups.
I've only had this app for 48 hours and it has without a doubt changed my life! I #1 gripe with the continuous development of phones/apps is the lack of freedom to personalize notifications, and this app is the perfect remedy. I never buy apps, and I got this one with low expectations bc so many over-promise and inevitably under-deliver. This one, however, is absolutely worth every penny and more. I'm so much more at peace with my notifications now. THANK YOU!!!!
This app is great for many reasons. One in particular I kept hearing a notifications and never see a notification in my phone. Driving me nuts. I check my devices notification settings. Nothing! BuzzKill was able to identify the two culprits. Two continuous notifications: Samsung health, and Google messages connecting to my computer. Muted both notifications with BuzzKill. It was worth the money just for that.
Almost perfect. My only issue is batching notifications for long periods of time can lead to looking non-responsive. For example, if I set a Convo to "batch for 1 hr", then even the first message takes 1hr to notify. It would be great if the first message could be immediate, and then any messages in the next 1hr would get batched to reduce excessive notifications. I thought that's what cool down did, but it does not work as cool down still shows all notifications.
This app is a must have if you really want complete control over your notifications and what they do. It's very easy to use and well designed (which is an understatement). I use it to batch the notifications from my family (because my sisters text a lot). I also have it auto dismiss certain notifications and turn off silent for certain phrases in texts. Ofc you could do this with tasker but why bother with that headache when this is so much more intuitive and is pretty cheap?
I've got to say. Android should buy this application and integrated into their OS. Can't believe that I didn't find this way before now. It has made my life so much better. You can take any notification and manipulate it the way you want it. For instance, some applications will send notices when stock prices change. Now instead of looking at my phone 15 times, I can tell buzzkill just to let me know every 2 hours, and batch all those notifications together. It can do so much more! I purchased!
I have been searching for this functionality for so long. No more phone exploding like someone died over some dog video in the group chat. Weird edge case, if the chat name starts with a korean character (maybe others too), it bypasses the rules and the app does not work. Maybe this will be fixed in later versions. Am using the app in english, but one chat has this exception.
Update: I found the issue - Buzzkill got turned off in Android's "Accessibility" settings! You need to give the app permissions there. It's back to working like a charm. ORIGINAL: This app used to be a lifesaver, but since a big Android update it doesn't work anymore. I know Android took away the sticky feature, but none of the rules activate anymore and nothing shows up in the history, like Buzzkill isn't even running. As far as I can tell, my phone isn't putting it to sleep.
Thank you so much. I couldn't figure out how to do this myself in automation apps, and I really needed my phone to be quiet when someone in particular likes to text multiple times in a row when I'm asleep. EDIT- sometimes if another text comes in fast enough, it'll still go off, but overall it's been helping since I installed it. The dev also reached out again after quite awhile and I assumed they had forgotten, so it was nice that they got back in touch!
This app is certainly worth the money. It has helped me to manage notifications easily instead of having to go through every one individually. However, I do have a couple of issues. First, whenever I restart my phone, any notifications that I set to "not dismiss" disappear, with no easy way to retrieve them. Second, the "search" function which used to work for custom time-frames has stopped. Now, no matter what I do, I'm unable to restore any notification older than a day. Please fix.
pretty good, really like the snooze until time feature, but I notice some rules don't run if another rule already applied, and it doesn't seem like there's a way to sequence the rules ourselves? buzzkill sets the sequence. would rate 5 if I could sequence the rules or set 'IF: rule A THEN, ELSE rule B THEN, ELSE rule C' logic. trying to set several rules, specific to apps and messages, then give 'snooze until' on everything else.
The solution to missed meetings and it works with Outlook. I have been looking for an app that would do meeting reminders for Outlook for years. But none of them could filter between Outlook calendar notifications vs email notifications. Thanks to great work by this dev, Buzz Kill now supports this. You need to add a filter under the "Extras" section, "Category (Event)" to specify Outlook meeting and appointment notifications.
Worth paying for. I don't know what's up with people avoiding paid apps like the plague but it's good to pay sometimes. I would much rather skip one cup of coffee for a well made, ad free, app. Instead of a free ad riddled, buggy pos. I use this because I am logged in on a company Instagram and I don't want to receive notifications from it but I cant turn it off on Instagram without turning it off for everyone who is logged into it. It works great!
It takes some time to configure, but it makes life so very much better. This is a text I sent to a friend group: I used to have issues with notifications coming in when I could not address them and interrupting what was more immediately important, but I've found a relatively inexpensive solution that helps me stay engaged with what I'm doing and up to date with my emails and texts.
Greatly helps to take control of your focus and your time when it comes to your phone. Being able to batch receive notifications for social media in set intervals rather than every few minutes really helps to prevent getting absorbed into social media all day. Super intuitive interface and worthwhile starter rules as well, couldn't recommend more in this day and age!
I want my phone to use the ringer and audible notifications when I'm at home during the day but not at night and not when I'm out in public. This app lets me set a rule to only turn it off of silent when it's connected to my home Wi-Fi during the day. I've used this for three years and it's great! Another benefit is being able to cancel the stupid "x is typing" notifications from Snapchat.
It's really nice to take active control of notifications when you're working or busy. Some necessary apps can even start to bug you with unnecessary notifications, and this has helped with that. Edit: 8/22/25 After about 1 year of use, this is a must have application. Whether you get a lot of notifications from social media, texts, or emails, this app helps cut down the clutter. It also helps speed up certain tasks on your device such as automatic copying a verification code.
Amazing! I searched everywhere to enable sound notifications from certain apps only, while staying on vibrate for the rest. Do not disturb sets to silent except allowed(not an option). And im not going app by app. I set a loud alarm notification(custom sound and buzz pattern!!) for my Blink doorbell while still on vibrate. Even if this is the only notification i customize, it was worth the $4! (did I mention it is VERY easy to use??)
