It seems like this app is really customizable, but doesn't seem to work well for my use case. For the most part I want to be able to batch my text notifications, but turn off that rule at specific times when I'm expecting to hear from someone. However, it seems like batching messages delays texts from being sent to my phone, even if I turn off the rule, since I'll turn the rule off but still receive those messages hours later than they were sent
Reviews for BuzzKill Notification Manager
Not sure if this is a buzzkill issue or an android issue, but lately a large number of notifications I have setup in buzzkill (like a custom tone for my sms app) will ring, but the notification will never appear. So if I don't hear it ring, I'll never know it happened. I have one auto-dismiss rule, but when I checked the notifications that are missing aren't getting dismissed by it.
After some searching and trying with other apps I ran into a Reddit post mentioning this one and it is exactly what I was looking for. I needed an app to dismiss on both my phone and my watch only the message notifications of friends sending me Reels or other shared content. This app does this and more! It is also so simple and satisfying to use. Now I can stop checking my notifications so often and get less annoyed with constant pop ups.
I've only had this app for 48 hours and it has without a doubt changed my life! I #1 gripe with the continuous development of phones/apps is the lack of freedom to personalize notifications, and this app is the perfect remedy. I never buy apps, and I got this one with low expectations bc so many over-promise and inevitably under-deliver. This one, however, is absolutely worth every penny and more. I'm so much more at peace with my notifications now. THANK YOU!!!!
This app is great for many reasons. One in particular I kept hearing a notifications and never see a notification in my phone. Driving me nuts. I check my devices notification settings. Nothing! BuzzKill was able to identify the two culprits. Two continuous notifications: Samsung health, and Google messages connecting to my computer. Muted both notifications with BuzzKill. It was worth the money just for that.
Almost perfect. My only issue is batching notifications for long periods of time can lead to looking non-responsive. For example, if I set a Convo to "batch for 1 hr", then even the first message takes 1hr to notify. It would be great if the first message could be immediate, and then any messages in the next 1hr would get batched to reduce excessive notifications. I thought that's what cool down did, but it does not work as cool down still shows all notifications.
This app is a must have if you really want complete control over your notifications and what they do. It's very easy to use and well designed (which is an understatement). I use it to batch the notifications from my family (because my sisters text a lot). I also have it auto dismiss certain notifications and turn off silent for certain phrases in texts. Ofc you could do this with tasker but why bother with that headache when this is so much more intuitive and is pretty cheap?
I've got to say. Android should buy this application and integrated into their OS. Can't believe that I didn't find this way before now. It has made my life so much better. You can take any notification and manipulate it the way you want it. For instance, some applications will send notices when stock prices change. Now instead of looking at my phone 15 times, I can tell buzzkill just to let me know every 2 hours, and batch all those notifications together. It can do so much more! I purchased!
I have been searching for this functionality for so long. No more phone exploding like someone died over some dog video in the group chat. Weird edge case, if the chat name starts with a korean character (maybe others too), it bypasses the rules and the app does not work. Maybe this will be fixed in later versions. Am using the app in english, but one chat has this exception.
Update: I found the issue - Buzzkill got turned off in Android's "Accessibility" settings! You need to give the app permissions there. It's back to working like a charm. ORIGINAL: This app used to be a lifesaver, but since a big Android update it doesn't work anymore. I know Android took away the sticky feature, but none of the rules activate anymore and nothing shows up in the history, like Buzzkill isn't even running. As far as I can tell, my phone isn't putting it to sleep.
