Description
Been using CA DMV Wallet for a couple months now. It’s basically an app where you can store your driver’s license on your phone. Pretty solid if you’re into that kind of thing.
Here’s what you do: You can use your digital license to get through TSA at airports or buy age-restricted stuff at stores. There’s also a Wallet Marketplace where you can enroll in TruAge programs. Took me a while to figure that part out but it’s pretty useful.
Look, if you’re tired of carrying your physical license around, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the setup process is a bit confusing at first – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you want a secure way to show your ID on your phone.
Editor Opinion
So here's my take on CA DMV Wallet. I've tested a bunch of ID apps and this one's pretty good overall. The digital license feature works well and I like how you can control what info you share. And the Wallet Marketplace is a cool addition too, even if it took some figuring out. Not gonna lie, the setup was a bit of a pain, but once I got it going it's been super convenient. Only real downside is it can be slower than just pulling out your physical license sometimes. But if you want a secure, contactless way to show your ID, this is a solid option.
