This app does indeed do a great job of blocking spam & scam calls! Just like it is suppose to do! I just hate the limited amount of calls that can be blocked! I paid for the pro edition, & when I got a new phone, somehow, my subscription wasn't on record, & it should have been! So, give me my subscription back, & I will gladly give you five stars!
Lately when I get calls you can't find who is calling when you use the credits to do so. It just seems like it is getting worse and I have had this app for quite a while. Its disappointing that these calls can make it through without the name of who is calling! I just checked my settings and I do have Unknown Calls blocked but yet they keep coming through and ringing.
Have had this app for over a year. Worked great until about 3 months ago. Right after a new subscription. Now everything comes through....everything. I have it set to block similar numbers (same prefix)...doesn't block any of them. They ALL come through. Every single call comes through! Even community blacklisted numbers. I have not had a 'blocked call' notification in months. No, it is not my default phone app and I don't want it to be. It worked before without that being the case, why not now?
I used this app for several years and loved it. Lately it has been sending ALL of my wife's calls directly to voicemail without my phone even ringing. She is in my contacts and is on my "Always allow" list. Her number differs from mine only by the last four digits. This problem only started when I began using the "Block Similar Numbers" feature. I'm sure lots of couples have numbers that are the same area code and exchange. There is something seriously wrong with their logic if it blocks similar numbers even when in your contacts and "Always Allow" lists. I've tried turning off the blocking of similar numbers, but can't seem to get it off.
It's been great thus far but recently, blocked and scam calls are coming through! Upon checking settings, app turned off my call blocking, I would have to keep enabling block & as a previous review stated about paid membership being recognize as trial, it does this to me as well. It would state I have a few days left of block and if I want to continue, to upgrade.. But of course when I exit out of it, it will show I am premium member until mid 2023.
The call blocking are excellent the ability to block by area codes is a big plus. My biggest complaint is numerous calls that will not hang up even after pressing the end call button. Sometimes my only option is to just turn my phone completely off. I cannot stress how awkward it is when I hang up a call and someone is still there sometimes hearing things they should not hear. The two stars are for the complete and obvious inconvenience. This has already caused me on several conversations.
There are several points that I'd like to make.. First, it's allowing more spam calls in then I feel it should. Second, even though I have a paid subscription it still does not identify the call coming in - you have to pay extra for that. However, the things I DO like are there are no ads with the paid version.. And it has a Do not Disturb option the developers told me about.. As my phone also has a Do Not Disturb the Call Control version of it allows me to set it so that only incoming calls on my white list and my contacts will come in. This is the best feature as if you're not in my contacts, I don't need to talk to you... But I also can't give it 5 stars for the same reasons - especially since it doesn't give the possible identify of the caller as other call control programs so.. UPDATE - This is from their support team after they requested I contact support about the issue... "I've checked the numbers in your screenshot and three of the numbers actually have advanced results in our system. But they can only be obtained if you Lookup these numbers using provided lookup credits." So in other words we have to pay to look up the numbers - taking away a star!
This app worked great, but lately, it isn't working like it is supposed to. I have a number blacklisted as disconnect, which is supposed to drop the call and not send it to voicemail. However, that same number has been leaving voice-mail messages, which I need to go in and delete. Obviously, a bug has developed in the software that I hope is fixed soon.
Not production ready. It blocked a contact on my white list. Boss was calling all day. Wasted $30. It shouldn't be out of beta, let alone available for sale. Very hard to add blocked numbers. Multiple paths to achieve the same thing... some work, some don't... some methods of doing things are accessible where you need to use them and some aren't. Extremely frustrating to have worked around the cluckiness, thinking you got something to work but find out later that the setting wasn't saved.
Great app! I have an unwanted caller. I got this app because it claimed to block calls AND messages. At the beginning, it wasn't working for me. I would block but, the voice and text messages kept coming. So, I contacted their support team and they were able to help me tweak the settings. Finally, the app disconnects him altogether and no more messages! Now, he has to go through the trouble of getting a new number to call me from every few months but, then I just block him again. Thx!
