I don't get it... I turned on automatic recording and it doesn't do it. I checked the voice recorder logs and nothing is there. Honestly the ads and premium promotions are so overwhelming it makes it frustrating. And no, I will not be reaching out to the support team. I shouldn't have to immediately call/contact customer support to figure out a recording app. The amount ads alone make it not worth my time.
Reviews for CallApp: Caller ID & Block
← Back to CallApp: Caller ID & BlockJust installed this app, and although it looks nice, right away I see 2 issues. The default listing of the call history is literally call by call. There is no grouping of calls from the same caller, and I don't see a way to turn it on. Then, when I used the contact us option in the app, it tried to make you use Gmail. Unless another user or app support can tell me how to get the call history fixed, I'll have to uninstall the app.
Doesn't stop the calls, it's just the same as if you would manually block calls yourself. There's so many "spoof" calls I am not sure any app will suffice. You are able to save and block each number which is helpful to the community in this app, but now that spammers use a fake phone number once, (you can return the call and it's from a number not in-service or it's a random person) it's just not as helpful as it may have been. I now just use the "do not disturb" option allowing only contacts.
Good at first. Then block caller is so well hidden you have to search. That should never happen. It does stop robo calls. it wants you to verify who the is calling , by typing.I don't have time or energy for that, that's from those spoofing calls and how is that legal?? Anyway it does block robo calls just want it to be easier for me to block a number without all the stress. Just changed. My review to 2 stars you wrote telling me what to do but maybe you didn't understand that I could not find t
Pretty decent app, is has plenty of features, but the ads sometimes feel a bit intrusive. I get it, it's not cheap to develop and maintain an app like this. The only real problem I have is with the post-call overlays which cannot be disabled unless you buy a subscription. It negates some of my phone's hands-free capabilities, which is dangerous. It's probably going to land the developer in hot water some day, despite any lagalese in their disclaimer.
I understand ads, but there are SO many. When you get off of a call, a delayed ad screen pops up so if you clicked anywhere on the screen, your browser will open then play store. It's a desperate way to get clicks and a waste of our time. Downloaded this for the business phone. Caller ID was great, call recorder didn't work (developer says it's because Google permissions, but they don't warn you about it before "selling" that it is a call recorder).
Awful experience. I purchased the annual subscription because it looked stellar. But little did I know that I was being constantly asked to help identify the caller. And yes, it is set as my default app!!!!. Next, it wants you to use it for texting as default. Now, when my job texts in groups, I can only see the pop up and that's it. Maybe I'm just too stupid but I've tried to figure this app out and I am giving up, cancelling the subscription and uninstalling. End of story
Was really hoping this app would be what I was looking for. However, I'm very disappointed with it. I needed it to record phone calls, so I PAID for the monthly subscription. Then, AFTER you pay, it says that the recording does not work!!! It's absolutely misleading!! As soon as you call out or answer an incoming call, it automatically starts recording. But afterwards, when you go to the stored recordings it's nothing but silence. It records, but it is useless!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!
Love the caller I'd with pictures, very useful in my job as a Process Server, let's you know if the number belongs to the person you are calling, great tool. Now, I paid for premium, no ads, no ads from outside, but their ads still come up. I get constant calls from sales people who I blocked, they just call back with a new number. I have just been contacted by customer service regarding a problem I have with the app, wow that's so great. Thanks for the one on one help. Really great customer.
I've used this app for quite a while (the free version). I really only needed something to block the numerous amount of spam calls I received daily. Unfortunately I updated my phone and now the app does not block my calls. Im keeping it installed for the meantime, hoping there will be an update for thr app soon so I can go back to blocking calls. Other than this minor glitch, I've never had an issues. It does what it says.
I am enjoying this app. I really like the options it offers. being able to tell the app if it's actually who shows up as the caller is great. I don't have to deal with 98% of the spam callers I used to get. you can title the number calling very easily. It asks you if the person that just called is actually what shows. if you list it as spam you won't get that caller again. The options are great! Thanks!
The overall purpose of the app is wonderful. Finding contacts is a little confusing and the setup not so nice. It's just one little list but you can search it. It opens two windows when a call comes in so that is a little odd. I do like the ability to set a cover and motion backgrounds to contact pages. I did buy the premium version but even with that I think the backgrounds are limited. it does seem like the call block only disconnects once in a while so I do get a call. Like the blocking alot!
This is an almost-perfect app for calls & SMS. It automatically identifies callers & message senders, and has community-based spam filtering. I have one gripe that took a star off my review. I first started using CallApp when we had Android 4.0 or maybe a little after. Cameras have significantly improved since then, and we need to be able to reduce the size of photos for SMS. I don't want to set pictures to low quality in case I want to zoom via cropping (digital zoom) or send HQ via email.
I appreciate the ability to record calls, and to recognize unknown numbers. But the major problem I've had with this app over the years are the lags. This is especially for when I'm just receiving a call, the person's name doesn't show up until the phone ring limit is almost up. I am kindly asking the developers to fix the functionality of the app. Test it on a high performing phone 1st. If passed, test it on a low-end or slower phone afterwards until it's a pass for that too.
The application seems to deliver everything promised. I don't understand people's confusion as it is pretty simple. However, make it to where you can purchase the ad free version. I do not like monthly subscriptions. I would easily pay 20 or 30 dollars after seeing that everything works properly. I will not, however, pay monthly forever. I will move to 5 stars if this update is implemented. Thanks! Update: I found the paid once in their store for cheaper than I thought too! 5 stars!
I liked the idea of this app. But now I realize that the developers use predatory tactics to get you to enable all of the permissions they want in exchange for "features", even though I paid for the app. If you don't allow SMS alerts to display over other apps, it will constantly nag you to do so, and leave a notification banner on constantly. It's so annoying. And the worst part? It's a subscription. I wouldn't be so salty if all the nagging went away after payment. F this app.
App does what it wants when it wants. Tells me I have calls from people for days after I miss a call. UI is buggy and choppy because of ads. Won't make calls from certain menus when using the app. It's a whole hot mess with annoying pop ups asking to verify numbers called, freezes every other call and then they did something with the message bar when you could see the person who you were speaking with but when you try to hang up the call the info "disappears" and you can't hang up the call. WOT!
CallApp is one of the best apps on the market. It is very simple to use and identifies who is calling provided that the caller's name is in your contacts. Otherwise, it displays phone numbers and the location of callers who are not in your contacts, helping you with deciding to block the number. The reason why I gave it a 4 star review is because I wish that they would include voicemail. Otherwise, it is a great app!
I was just about to change my number because the spam calls have gotten so out of control. I figured I give a few spam blockers a try first. After going through them all, and being asked to pay after a trial, I found this one. Which seems so perfect already, I can't imagine how the paid version could make it even better. And unlike the other apps of its kind, the free version sold itself. I will definitly be purchasing! I have "do not disturb" turned off for the 1st time in months! Yay!
Not very intuitive. Recorder doesn't work right. It appears that a setting that records while not using a headset doesn't work with a headset. Took me 2 hours to figure out how to set the default number to call in a contact. Turns out you long press on the number. That's not obvious or easy to discover. Amateur job on UI. And I was stupid enough to pay for it. Support is non-existent. They told me to "try everything" in settings. They don't know how to fix it. Recommend don't buy.
