EDIT 11/26/23. Agree with Scott, used to be perfect, every update in the last month has been going downhill, not going to repeat Scott's review as he nailed it. EDIT 11/28/23- Going to put back up to 4 stars for developers' concerns and fast response. App. works good, just not as nice as it used to be. No matter who's fault this may be. Thank you for responding to those who have been complaining.

With surveillance cameras and in-home listening devices (marketed as convenience tech) now ubiquitous, it is comforting to know that I can at least control my phone's camera with this app. I am confident that it is working because other apps complain no access to the camera while Camera Block Pro is active.

Seems to work fine. Obviously have tried to load the camera with the blocking app active and sure enough the camera doesn't work with the phone informing me that the "Security policy prevents use of camera". In today's world where you should be covering your webcams and taking safety precautions this seems like a must have app.

I don't regret purchasing this application & U won't either. I've found that I like the fact that when I get a surprise video chat from one of those fake profiles on that unnamed social platform that is now a haven for fake profiles; it doesn't show me to them! They'll video call me out of the blue & all I see is a black screen for Them so fawk those dirt bag scammers anyway. I also use the FREE version of the microphone blocker on another device , an AO3, & can recommend it as well. THANKu!

I've been using this for several years. Very easy to use. Always good to see the messages popup when an app tries to take pictures without permission.What's lacking and I wished would be finally added is a log of which apps are requesting to use the camera and when.

Best camera blocker. Does not drain battery. I have used this app for many years. It keeps my phone safe from Spyware. I accidentally loaded software that was advertised as security software. It messed up the camera block to use as spyware. I notified the makers of this app. their fix is amazing! Even strong camera protection. And of course I removed the Spyware app.

Guys the last couple of updates has a bug. I cannot stop the pop up to enable or disable the app from appearing randomly literally every five minutes, no matter what I'm doing on my phone. It's annoying the hell out of me.

It's an easy 5 stars for me, however after the last upgrade to the latest version a pop keeps on showing on the launcher that I need to either close the app, allow camera access for 10mins, or unblock camera. Switched it off from settings, however still the pop keeps on showing and it's annoying! Fix it please 🥺

Great app to secure the camera from being used until I need it. It would be nice if the whole app didn't have to open, just maybe unlock/lock based on selecting it as a quick option. This would save a c couple steps in taking a photo with the camera. I hope you guys can do this. I'll update my review to five stars once new features are implemented. Thanks!

This app helps prevent the multitude of hackers of mobile devices from seeing your current surroundings. I like the ease of allowing pictures when I want to use the camera. Update: app no longer works since upgrading to Android 12. Update to Android 13 and it works again.

Very dependable and easy to use. I have been using it for over a year and I love it. Well thought out and intuitive. It does one simple thing elegantly. To use your camera they have an option where you can create a home screen link to unlock your camera and open the camera in 1 step. Good job dev team 👏

I have had the pro version of this app for 2 years, (pro version has no adds, well worth the one time, life time price of 8 bucks) best thing about it, it keeps doing exactly what it claims and as of yet, camera block pro, has never let me down. Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!

Works great! Love it! Except the widget. I put it on the desktop and it works. After awhile it doesn't work. Not sure what triggers it: a period of time, a phone restart, I don't know. I only know I delete the widget, put it back and it only works for awhile. I use the mic block app and widget as well. The widget for that one works flawlessly all of the time.

EDIT: Jan 23, 2021- Just upgraded my Note 10+ last night to Android 11. Having issues with opening any camera app. I un-installed and re-installed the Camera Block App and now camera works. If you don't want people/government to see you from your phone or tablet cameras then get this app. It is very simple to use. I've been running it for a couple months now and haven't had any issues with it at all. Some people have complained that you have to manually unblock the camera to take a picture and I agree that that would be ideal but that is not the fault of the developers. The Android operating system has limitations that don't allow the developers to implement that function. Again, excellent app

Great little app! Simple and straightforward. Generally speaking, when it's ON it blocks your camera from use by all apps, hackers, mal/spyware, etc. When it's OFF you can use your camera freely. You can make "quick launchers" for any app, but there's no hassle of a whitelist which may or may not work. This specifically is why I went to this app. I was using one with a whitelist, but it would work--or not--randomly. I finally opted for full security which I could control myself--and here it is!

Paid for Pro because I'm not a cheapskate with my hand out. Works perfectly! I really hadn't considered just HOW many apps have both camera and data access. At first, I couldn't get flashlight to work with the Bixby button remapping app, BX Actions, but I figured it out. In that app, I had to select "factory" flashlight instead of the "extra power" option (whatever that means). All good now.

Works as they said it would. AND - after it is bought and paid for (one-time), they do not try to maneuver customer toward paying for "extras" because it is cocomplete as is.! What a relief! Even if you have a slide-cover for the lens, get this app. You may not know for days when the lens cover falls off, there is no warning.

It changed recently, and it totally sucks now. I used to be able to keep my camera blocked at all times and then just click the apps notification to unblock it and it would automatically block my camera again after 5 minutes (or as long as you chose in settings) so I wouldn't forget to block my camera again. As far as I can tell now, the app just works as a quick link to my privacy settings where I can toggle camera usage on/off. Total trash I'm switching if it's not fixed soon.

This app no longer performs as intended. It was 1-click automated, but then they came up with an update. Now they expect you to manually turn off the camera for every app that uses it, which is ridiculous because what's the point in having this app now. Also just bought this like a week ago, so it should be noted that Google is refusing to give me a refund, and I quote, "because the purchase doesn't meet with their policy," whatever the hell that means. Looks like it's credit card dispute time.

Recent Android update has caused problems for Camera Blocker Pro. No longer works. Even with the lock enabled, you can tap the camera button and snap pics for 3-5 seconds... then the lock engages. That's different from before and not particularly helpful... Reinstalling didn't solve the problem. Need help, but will uninstall if it's not resolved soon. ***No reply from support - cannot recommend this one any longer.
