GPS tracking is good. Voice alerts better then the beeps. Would be 5 stars if it didn't miss a few easily identifiable fixed cameras.
Reviews for CamSam PLUS
← Back to CamSam PLUSI've been loving this app for a long time. At the moment it doesn't seem to autolaunch anymore using Android Q beta 3, i hope that the app will still work properly in widget mode when Q will be released. It would be great to be able to change the audio alerts, and perhaps to have the option of having a single warning beep rather than multiple alerts as you approach a camera. thanks!
Works very well. A minor thing to note. If the phone is on "do not disturb" the app does not override so you do not receive audible warning. Turn off do not disturb when using it.
Works really great! I wish they would convert meteres to yards or feet! 😄 I'm American and I can only guess what a meter is ! Lol. I know what 1 Kilometer is , .6 miles. 60mph is 100 kph. I know what a millimeter is...😆 Please! I need old English Standard Units because we've been using in here for over 250 years in the States!!! The app does use MPH or KPH though.
Does exactly what you expect it to do. The best spent 1€ in my whole life! Allows you to concentrate on the road and your driving rather than speed and cameras. Best app ever! update after 4 years of use: still the best app ever! Editing my review after 8 years of use. While it's still the best 1€ I have spent in my life, the market has moved on. In the case of "average speed" cameras, it would be great to signal the beginning, the end, and where you are along the segment of road. Waze has that.
I use this app from years, and I recommended it many times to my friends. The alert can be improved regarding two aspects: 1) length, as it plays too soon and too many times (it would be great to be able to customise it), and the alert on my swartwatch, which now works only for signal loss or disconnection, when in fact I'd use it for the alert itself.
Overall very good but there have been a few cameras it hasn't had. I think Waze is better but I love how this gives you an audible alert even when below the limit, and also tells you how far to the nearest camera based on the direction of travel. It'd be good if there was a way to manually check your camera database was up to date though.
Very reliable. However the one thing missing is the speed limit spoken over audio. I don't watch my phone screen when driving so I rely on the audio warning.
The worst app EVER!!! Audio warnings work then those go silent for no reason. It doesn't matter if you are connected via Bluetooth or via Android auto its just stops. Dont be naive to pay for this app like I did.
I love this app, it doesn't use much mobile data like Waze does and it has a great widget functionality. It runs in the background and when there is a warning it will appear on the screen. I tested it in Germany and Switzerland and it knows 98% of all speed cameras, which is great. The only downside is that you cannot disable the warning "No GPS, searching for satellites". I live in an area with lots of tunnels and I have to listen to this sentence 20 times a day, which is very annoying.
Really great app, but being warned every km, then few hundreds then 100 my is too much. On the road I take every day, there are cameras every km, so an option to choose the number of warning or the distance would be perfect! And choose the type of sound according to if I'm above the speed limit would make it perfect for 5 stars! (Like normal speech for 1km before, but the annoying ring bell if I'm 200 m and still speeding)
It was fine till it suddenly changed language to Dutch or German. Was fine in English till about 6months ago. Now very hard to use, no means of changing language. I think I will be diching it unless they change it back.
a shocking app in relation to updates and mobile cameras. I paid for the autostart on the app, that's the only good thing about it. the notifications have a volume setting and an "override" silent function, but I still can't hear the notifications. the visual settings are okay, but the lack users makes this app useless
it would get 5 starts if it would automatically turn off when stop your car. it automatically turns on when you connect to the car (so that's good) but it keeps running after you stop the car and needs to be turned off in notifications
it won't work on my Android Auto screen or audio system, not in any way. I am hard of hearing so being able to hear warnings is important, and I can't from my cell phone. Our speed cameras are badly posted and calibrated so people are being ticketed coming down from 50 kph to new 40 zones, which are coming down to 30 on July 1st, and it's everyone except racers who are out of range when the camera goes off. I would like a refund, please, as I just purchased this app in good faith.
I love this as it's saved me from speeding, especially in Wales 🏴 with its daft 20mph speed limit.. I don't go anywhere without my phone these days. The one thing that would make it even better is for it to work with Android Auto and any other car link systems
Amazing app worth every cent, but the section control warnings need to be improved to clearly let you know when you are entering and leaving an average speed section and whether your average speed above or below the required one (and also at what speed you should go to match the required one before the end of the section).
Occasionally the app cannot be switched off when displayed over other apps. Usually that's done through a notification. But sometimes the notification doesn't offer the closing of the app. Then only restarting the phone or forcing and app stop call close the app. Otherwise, great functionality!
it keeps warning me of the opposite traffic cameras. How have they not solved this small issue yet is beyond me. you get so many false alarms. its easy to fix but well. guess you get what you pay for! UPDATE: Customer support have stopped all communication and refuse to find a fix for the issue. I find the lack of support worrying. Seems they just want your cash and run
Not impressed so far. App constantly telling me it's not getting my location even though other map apps have no problems. UI is extremely clunky. whoever designed it needs to do a course on how Google wants apps to look like. Some of the text on the map UI is in German even though I have English selected. I'll see how it performs this coming week.
