I haven't used much of these scanning applications, but I suggest there are rarely apps with this precision and quality. I use it for my studies and sometimes for other documents, and it gives the exact desired quality, and ease with auto cropping and edges detection. My only complaint that made me rate it 4, is the watermark, which is always on the scans.

while trying to share scanned documents on the free app version, after pressing share via mail, immediately ad pops up. That ad is disrupting sending a shared file which ends up in the mails outbox. After that you have manually re-send from the outbox to send file. This must be fixed, otherwise it's unusable as a free version. instig - occasionally ads don't pop up and mail is sent without any issues. Only when ads pop up it messes up with sending mail.

Bought the full forever version, now it's a hard sell ads for 49.99 a year subscription. Today, I couldn't save a file without seemingly subscribing to the trial that turns into a subscription. these are full screen ads. It does have good functionality, but coercive ads before saving a simple image it too much. switching apps

they have charged me without any prior notice for premium package. this is totally unacceptable. I wonder how many have been charged this way. there is no way to install and try this app without giving you payment details. trial for 3 days. if you don't receive any notification for this option to continue or not, you nwill be charged so beware. I have written to the developer let's see how it goes

This app is a waste of money and people shouldn't believe the trial period. I cancelled within the trial period and was still charged. I requested a refund and was denied by Google. If you try to email documents with this app it sends a link and nobody wants to click on a link, because they are afraid of getting a computer virus. $50.00 is a lot of money to spend for something I couldn't use, tried to cancel on time, yet was still charged.

Been using the app for a time now, and no errors or bugs, file loses or dissaperances met. You can put any document into any style you would want: Word, PDF, slideshow and excetera. Also, their upgrade of the AI bot was a really good feature; capable of summarizing document, if asked to. CamScanner is the "to go" for the management of your documents and files; just download and see for yourself🙃 And yes, you can totally sign a document if you wanted too.

This app should be renamed Cam Scammer. I was just charged for a six month subscription that I did not agree to. I am already paying monthly for premium, and the app would not allow me to use it today without "upgrading". I clicked free trial and was immediately charged $39.99 plus tax! This is subversive and unethical marketing. I want a refund.

If you need to keep your receipts for taxes, tracking expenses, or whatever reason. This is the app you need. It saves everything to a clear, easy to read PDF. I use CamScanner to photo/scan my receipts for work. Makes doing expense reports so much easier. Best PDF scanner app on the market. Used free version 5+ years. Upgraded to the paid about 2 months ago. No regrets, like the added features and no ads on the paid version.

I had a terrible experience with this app. I canceled my subscription during the 3-day free trial period, yet I was still charged for a full year’s subscription. This feels very unfair and misleading. I strongly urge the developers to fix this issue and handle subscription cancellations more transparently. I have send so many emails to the support yet no response.

Used to be really good, now it won't even let you save your scan as a pdf, only as an image. If you try to export as pdf nothing happens. You can save the file but only as a .zip. You used to be able to choose the scan area, but now it's only automatic, and it always skews/cuts the document. It is also now riddled with ads, every action you make, including going back to the previous menu, results in an unskipable 30 second ad. This makes using the app incredibly frustrating and creates delays.

I'd give this app 5 stars for straightening pictures of pages/pictures taken using my phone, which is what I got it for but it has a paid feature that is supposed to translate text in photos to text. It doesn't work. Firstly since it saves in pdf format I expected it to replace the text in the photo with text blocks in the pdf file, instead it creates a whole new text file that only contains the text not pictures that were included as well secondly I have it set to look for English, I don't know what language it thought it was recreating but it certainly didn't get it right..... In my case I was trying to copy a recipe from a recipe book. The printed recipe was legible but a little blurry. I thought cool if I sign up for the paid version I could copy the entire book to my phone (it's only about 20 pages) and have it with me when I am shopping, convert the text portions to text and use it like a shopping list. Unfortunately it only got about 3% of the text correct and created a useless text file along with the pdf file and image file. So -2 stars for having a monthly subscription fee for a feature that doesn't work. Even if it did work it should be a 1 time fee not a subscription.

Uninstalled. Has sneaky promotional ads that made their way to my phone. But when I tried to click on reviews first (before installing) the promotional link was disabled! I eventually got in and saw the reasons that users described: "Switch & Bait" was a popular theme. *But even worse*, the app created a positive review, using my profile! And I couldn't edit it, as it was blocked from edits. I UNINSTALLED it without ever using. This is the most dishonest app I've ever seen!

Free version limitations not made clear. What a waste of time. wish I could rate less than 1 star. The app just erased over 30 files I needed. Lucky me gets to do it ALL OVER AGAIN! I CAN'T BELIEVE MY EXCITEMENT 🙄 How I wish I could rate -10 stars. This app causes so much extra work for me because it wants me to pay at times. then I have to dl all files. load those to an email. load all files to a word doc to convert to PDF. I need to find an app that makes things clear.

Stop changing how this works. I've used this app for more than 10 years and have recommended it to so many people. I stayed with it through all of the time you tried to introduce ads (terrible btw) and then watermarked everything. Now, all of a sudden, it starts blocking out my signature on documents that I'm trying to scan, which makes it pointless and worthless. I have to find another app.

I paid for the app, but will not renew. The scans were fine. Some of the tools are good. However, after scanning 51 editions of a newspaper, I noticed that sorting is awful. It certainly wasn't alphabetical or numerical or alphanumeric. I could not download the entire batch at once using either phone or pc app, only 1 at a time. In 8 cases, a page or two I had scanned were missing or showed as a small white box. I did email support to make a request, but did not receive a response.

Normally works great, but now the scanned files can't be accessed on the website because nothing happens after entering credentials on the email login page. Possible debugging clue: I recently cleared all cookies. Note: I definitely have not forgotten my password. I have used this app for years with easy access to the web portal. I know what I am doing. It's not PEBKAC. The web access is broken. If only down for maintenance, the UI needs to say so!

Update: CamScanner has been extremely helpful over time. It has been a life saver for both personal and small business needs. CamScanner makes it so quick and easy to check things off my to do list. This app is not even in the same ballpark of any other camera scanners I've used (and I've tried quite a few). Intuitive, incredibly easy to use and beautiful, crisp output. It's already saved me a ton of time and hassle. Thank you CamScanner Team!!

Updated to mention that several native Android apps provide this service for free, at least on the Pixel. Back in 2017 I reduced the review because I bought the paid version a long time before that but then I needed to repurchase it. On top of that a subscription was needed for access to other features that used to be standard! So I won't buy any of it anymore and you probably shouldn't too. It should be called camscaMMer.

Continued Improvements - I tried using this app a few years ago and just deleted it, couldnt figure it out. I was in a bind with some files this year and did the free trial, ended up paying the sub, Im using it all the time! Its a really good app. The bug Ive ran into is when I got my new phone. I couldnt get playstore to accept transferring my membership, I had to cancel and re start my yearly membership which costed me some money. Please look into that!

Update: I've used this for two years now (free version) and it works great. I use it for work to quickly digitize docs. I scan about for documents per month. Used once. So far it's easy, user-friendly, free, and looks professional. The only downside to the free version is that all scans come with a watermark that says something like "Scanned by CamScanner". It's like $5 /month (ish) to upgrade to remove that. Meh.
